We wanted to develop a mobile app for our users to access content from their phones. We noticed that our clients who had access to our materials on hard copies wanted to access more content on phone, hence the need to digitize our hard copy books. We searched online for a number of app developers across the globe and came to about 4 companies, then finally settled for the current vendor in line with what we wanted such as pricing, past projects, experience in the field etc.

We had a number of meeting where a lot of things were established in the initial stage, things like our goals, objectives etc. We provided their team with some reference app to look at so as to have an idea of what we wanted. Within a month or so, the first build was delivered and other items and functionalities were incorporated in the build up to the point of testing.

We were assigned with a project manager under business analytics whom we worked with up to the end of the project. interaction with front and backend developers was minimal

The deliverables which were in the workplan were delivered on time. The quality of the work was good and slightly above our expectations

Communication with the project manager was timely. We mostly relied on Skype and emails.

The staff had a lot of patience to guide us through the whole process of app development to a point of making us understand most of the technicalities involved

Areas of improvements are minimal. We could not think of anything they need to do differently since our expectations have been met.

Our website was created a long time ago and it was outdated. And also we wanted to add e-commerce sales channel on the website. Since we don't have the internal IT department, so we needed to hire a web developer.

We provided some design images and required functions and they came back with some mockups. From that, we are back and forth to finalize the design and functions.

Their point of contacts were 3 people over the course of the project. Not exact sure about their positions but I guess a sales rep, a managing manager, a project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Received internal and external feedbacks that the renewed website is easy to navigate with clear information. And even on our end, it's also easy to operate and manage with an admin panel.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Overall, it took longer than we expected due to the language barrier, time difference and our team management's approval delays etc. It was challenging to set up a meeting within both ends' availability with time difference. We used mostly emails, google meets, and WhatsApp for the communication.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They can do what we asked for.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were several minor issues even after launching and took a little extra time to get hold of them. But once we could get hold of them and they understood the problems we were facing, they could fix them. And, I would say the visual design was not their strength at least for our project team. So we needed to provide very specific visual requests and extra communications for that.

If we have change requests, timelines might get pushed back a little, but the team is good at meeting deadlines. We communicate over email and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They follow up a lot. I’m a very busy person, so if someone isn’t following up with me, they won’t be able to get in touch with me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Just make sure they know the direction you want to take with your product. They can achieve anything based on that.

Our company hired Dev Technosys to develop a full stack website consisting of a clean, efficient, user friendly frontend and a highly complex, fully customized backend. After reviewing existing rental software services, we felt it would be better to build our own so that we could customize it to our specific industry and workflow.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online and read reviews on various sites, including Clutch, for development agencies that had developed more complex projects. After creating a list of our top options, we went through multiple interview rounds, spoke with past clients, and chose Dev Technosys based upon their apparent knowledge and interest in these interviews. We like the portfolio that they had to share and the past clients spoke highly of them.

This project is still in the works but we were looking for a user friendly frontend and a customized admin panel backend. The backend is highly complex in that it is a rental software, order management, CRM, and reporting system all in one. In addition, this backend is custom to the workflow specific to our industry which is not a common rental industry. We brought design pages for both the frontend and backend to Dev Technosys as part of our proposal. The project managers and team have done an excellent job getting as close to these designs as possible and we are happy with the work they have been doing so far.

I've worked directly with 4 people from the initial interviews til now however, others are working on this project - 1 Business Development, 2 Business Analysts, and 1 Developer.

This project is still in the works so I cannot provide feedback on this yet.

Despite the 12.5 hour difference, communication with Dev Technosys is quite smooth. We have regular Skype calls as well as other communications via Skype and email. We utilize Google docs/spreadsheets for feedback.

Dev Technosys is quick to problem-solve. When there is an issue, they present that issue with a possible solution. Even when I've presented more complex features, they've taken the time to think about it to come up with a way to make it all work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not at this time.

I’m an executive at a platform that connects brands and companies with contractors and freelancers in creative fields, including editors, graphic artists, directors, and camera operators — basically anyone you’d want to hire for video production and AV content. 

Clients can search through profiles filtering different characteristics, including diversity and prior experience. Once clients find a freelancer they like, they can click on their profile and see their work history and video portfolio.

We were starting from zero; we had the idea and hired Dev Technosys to help us develop it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dev Technosys developed our platform from start to finish. They helped us scope the project, including figuring out what kind of programming language to use. They also helped with web design and functionality. We collaborated with the team to determine which pages would be needed, how to set up the onboarding process for freelancers, and site security.

They set up a Twilio function so that users have to input their phone number and email, and the platform will send them an activation code. This requirement makes the site more secure. I also requested a two-tiered purchase system, where small business clients will have one method of invoicing and payment, and enterprise clients will have a different system. 

Currently, we’re still fine-tuning the platform. Dev Technosys is helping me add features and functionalities that respond to what potential clients are asking for. We’ll probably be finishing the project in the next three months.

Every person who’s seen the site Dev Technosys built has said it’s amazing, and we’re working with top companies that have great insight into aesthetics and functionality. The platform has the same caliber as some leading sites; users can see that it’s not just a slap-together type of website. I’m confident to walk into a meeting with top clients, knowing our project matches up to some of the top hiring platforms in the world.

How did Dev Technosys perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re excellent at project management. The team is great at sticking to deadlines and giving realistic estimates about the timing for completing steps and tasks. Although development has been a long process, that’s my fault because I’ve had many stops and starts.

Moreover, they’ve been great about checking in and reminding me about feedback and priorities, even when I’ve stepped away and haven’t been as involved. Dev Technosys is very good at managing themselves as developers and helping me as a client; they’re more of a partner than just a provider. 

The project manager addresses any concerns I have and does a great job of communicating back and forth between the development team and me. If I have any questions on timing, design, or functionality, he quickly relays that to the development team and comes back with answers. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is my first time developing a product like this, and I’m impressed by Dev Technosys’ability to grasp the complexity of this type of project. Their biggest strength is that they’re able to take complex ideas and turn them into reality, executing them well the first time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there isn’t anything they need to do better; everything’s been great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would wholeheartedly recommend working with Dev Technosys. I’ve been recommending them to people I know, and they’ve created a website for a friend of mine. The only advice I would give to people who have never done a project like this is to have a clear idea of your full scope of work ahead of time. 

However, even if you don’t have it all figured out, Dev Technosys can take all the different pieces and help you put that puzzle together. I didn’t have a clear idea when I first started, and the team gave me advice and helped me mold the final product.

They’re phenomenal from a project management standpoint, and we mainly communicate through phone, email, and Zoom.

I hired Dev Technosys to develop a mobile application for health;thcare pertaining to massage therapy, physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I searched online for a web developer for iOS and Android to get a ball park of pricing and Dev Technosys had great reviews and was within my budget. I contacted the company, had a phone call to discuss my project and whether they would be a good fit for me and vice versa. Shortly after they sent me a document with the outline of the project, what to expect and a estimate of what it would cost. I liked that they were very prompt with responding and that the payments were broken down into milestones, which made it much more affordable for me.

Developed an app for iOS and Android using react native and an information website using HTML5. Also used Stripe, Twilio, AWS, API key and Getnada for admin panel. There are push notifications, email and account verifications, GPS features. They kept in constant contact with the designer to clarify any concerns or questions.

A project manager was assigned as the main point of contact. There is a development team, a finance manager and team lead manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The app has not launched yet. There are no current measurable deliverables at the moment.

Once we figured out the best and most efficient way to communicate we had no issues with communication. We often go through the progress of the app via Skype, and the call is recorded for future reference. We also communicate for more immediate questions or concerns via WhatsApp. There were no exact set timelines from. my part since this is t he first app I have worked on. The timelines they gave me were met, however.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The app so far looks fantastic and runs well. It is in beta testing. They are very patient with me and have been very helpful in this journey as I am learning.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would recommended informing myself if they are taking time off or will be unavailable so I wouldn't wonder what happened or if I was being ignored. Once we worked through that initial hiccup and figured out the best times to contact each other it has ran smoothly.

I’m the CEO of a company that makes date planning easier for people. We have a date planning search engine and a concierge service for setting up such dates.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dev Technosys? 

We’ve been working with Dev Technosys since the beginning of our platform, and we’ve done various projects with them. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dev Technosys has helped us build our site from scratch — that was our first major project. Since then, we’ve done iterations to the site, such as giving it a complete makeover and making additional changes.

During our iterations, we provide our requirements upfront. We draw up sketches and then go to the design stage, where the team maps out what the site will look like based on our recommendations. We’ve used Figma for the designs. Dev Technosys then codes the website, and we launch it from there; the site moves from a test server to the live server so customers can see the updates. The three main technologies we use are PHP, Node.js, and HTML. 

In terms of features, the site has a search engine where users can input a time and other generic pieces of information for setting up a date plan. The engine then pieces together a plan that meets the user’s criteria. Another main feature is the copilot service, where users input the same search criteria, but our team plans and books the date for them. This involves a process of approvals. 

At present, Dev Technosys offers maintenance services for us. They don’t host the website themselves, but they’ve worked on its initial setup. If we find any issues, they also help us out. Moreover, a person from their team also looks into our SEO and Google Analytics needs.

What is the team composition?

The team composition has changed throughout the engagement. I’ve worked with 2–3 people from Dev Technosys, including a project manager who has development experience. He’s also my main point of contact. I also deal directly with a developer.

Periodically, they bring on additional help for development, depending on the scope of our project. Their SEO expert and design team also come in at times.

How did you come to work with Dev Technosys?

I found Dev Technosys on Clutch. I was looking for developers and ended up interviewing 10 companies. The Dev Technosys team essentially hit everything we wanted. They were also the most in-depth when it came to initial proposals. That was why we decided to go with them.

We’ve spent around $30,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

With Dev Technosys’ help, we’ve been able to launch our site. We now have thousands of monthly users, and we’ve received positive feedback from them. Users love that they can share the planned dates ahead of time with their partners. They can then choose what they want to do. 

On top of that, we’ve been able to scale the product into other areas, which is great. We keep growing, and our team sustains that growth. Overall, we wouldn’t be here right now without Dev Technosys’ help.

How did Dev Technosys perform from a project management standpoint?

Dev Technosys has delivered on everything that we’ve set out to do. Timelines have been extended, but the team has been willing to stick with the project. Such timelines are always hard to predict when creating something from scratch. Despite that, the team truly wants the project to succeed. 

Moreover, we have weekly calls and daily communication to stay up to date. Skype is our predominant communication tool. We talk to each other either through messages, calls, video conferences, and emails. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is always willing to help and make improvements to the product. There’s never an issue whenever we ask them to change something. If a problem arises, they’re willing to fix it right then and there. That’s been a huge help for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In terms of their communication, they need to be more proactive rather than reactive. They should be more detailed in letting us know upfront about issues or delays. As long as we know about those things, we’re happy and we can make adjustments. 

Apart from that, Dev Technosys must be more diligent when uploading on either the test or live server. That way, they can ensure that the updates have no negative ripple effect on the platform — things should be working exactly as they should. Double-checking such updates can help us save time and avoid headaches. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re going to spend money on building an app or website, be willing to put in the upfront work. Prepare the requirements ahead of time, and hash them out properly. When you engage with Dev Technosys — or any other company, for that matter — you shouldn’t simply dump everything on their desk and ask them to put something together for you. 

Beyond that, have realistic expectations. If you’re building something from scratch, goals can be hard to project. As a result, you should be flexible. In terms of timelines, there should be enough breathing room. Things will never be perfect up front but they’ll get there, and having a breathing room helps the process.
