The webapp created, but required a lot of change requests as it is a complex and innovative project. The major deliverable is summary encounter note submitted.

The project management is good, fluent communication. All communication was via skype or email.

Their ability to fix all of the problems we encountered was highly impressive.

Improve on communication, we had change requests because the team was not understanding some of requirements and features and needed longer communication or a change request to fix them

I’m the CEO of a company that makes date planning easier for people. We have a date planning search engine and a concierge service for setting up such dates.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dev Technosys? 

We’ve been working with Dev Technosys since the beginning of our platform, and we’ve done various projects with them.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dev Technosys has helped us build our site from scratch — that was our first major project. Since then, we’ve done iterations to the site, such as giving it a complete makeover and making additional changes.

During our iterations, we provide our requirements upfront. We draw up sketches and then go to the design stage, where the team maps out what the site will look like based on our recommendations. We’ve used Figma for the designs. Dev Technosys then codes the website, and we launch it from there; the site moves from a test server to the live server so customers can see the updates. The three main technologies we use are PHP, Node.js, and HTML. 

In terms of features, the site has a search engine where users can input a time and other generic pieces of information for setting up a date plan. The engine then pieces together a plan that meets the user’s criteria. Another main feature is the copilot service, where users input the same search criteria, but our team plans and books the date for them. This involves a process of approvals. 

At present, Dev Technosys offers maintenance services for us. They don’t host the website themselves, but they’ve worked on its initial setup. If we find any issues, they also help us out. Moreover, a person from their team also looks into our SEO and Google Analytics needs.

The team composition has changed throughout the engagement. I’ve worked with 2–3 people from Dev Technosys, including a project manager who has development experience. He’s also my main point of contact. I also deal directly with a developer.

Periodically, they bring on additional help for development, depending on the scope of our project. Their SEO expert and design team also come in at times.

I found Dev Technosys on Clutch. I was looking for developers and ended up interviewing 10 companies. The Dev Technosys team essentially hit everything we wanted. They were also the most in-depth when it came to initial proposals. That was why we decided to go with them.

We started working with them in June 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

With Dev Technosys’ help, we’ve been able to launch our site. We now have thousands of monthly users, and we’ve received positive feedback from them. Users love that they can share the planned dates ahead of time with their partners. They can then choose what they want to do. 

On top of that, we’ve been able to scale the product into other areas, which is great. We keep growing, and our team sustains that growth. Overall, we wouldn’t be here right now without Dev Technosys’ help.

How did Dev Technosys perform from a project management standpoint?

Dev Technosys has delivered on everything that we’ve set out to do. Timelines have been extended, but the team has been willing to stick with the project. Such timelines are always hard to predict when creating something from scratch. Despite that, the team truly wants the project to succeed. 

Moreover, we have weekly calls and daily communication to stay up to date. Skype is our predominant communication tool. We talk to each other either through messages, calls, video conferences, and emails. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is always willing to help and make improvements to the product. There’s never an issue whenever we ask them to change something. If a problem arises, they’re willing to fix it right then and there. That’s been a huge help for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In terms of their communication, they need to be more proactive rather than reactive. They should be more detailed in letting us know upfront about issues or delays. As long as we know about those things, we’re happy and we can make adjustments. 

Apart from that, Dev Technosys must be more diligent when uploading on either the test or live server. That way, they can ensure that the updates have no negative ripple effect on the platform — things should be working exactly as they should. Double-checking such updates can help us save time and avoid headaches. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re going to spend money on building an app or website, be willing to put in the upfront work. Prepare the requirements ahead of time, and hash them out properly. When you engage with Dev Technosys — or any other company, for that matter — you shouldn’t simply dump everything on their desk and ask them to put something together for you. 

Beyond that, have realistic expectations. If you’re building something from scratch, goals can be hard to project. As a result, you should be flexible. In terms of timelines, there should be enough breathing room. Things will never be perfect up front but they’ll get there, and having a breathing room helps the process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dev Technosys developed the first phase of my web-based platform. I provided them with documentation highlighting my vision for the platform. Once they received that information, they completed the design and back- and frontend development. Dev Technosys used MySQL and a Laravel PHP framework for the development.

I worked with one lead analyst, and a team of developers worked overseas. We also had some interaction with sales teammates.

I was new to web development, so I hired Dev Technosys because I saw their positive reviews on Clutch.co.

I spent $16,500 with Dev Technosys.

I worked with Dev Technosys from April–December 2020.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

Dev Technosys initially promised that the project would be finished in August, but delayed it until December. In December, I ended our contract without having received any of the code. 

When I ended the contract, Dev Technosys informed me I needed to pay the remaining contract balance, even though the website was not completed in accordance with our contract. Their CEO then got involved and agreed that the website wasn’t completed to our contractual standards. My attorneys then sent demand letters to Dev Technosys, but they’ve ignored all email and written correspondence. I haven’t received all of the code for my web platform to date. 

How did Dev Technosys address the challenges that arose?

Dev Technosys did nothing to rectify the situation — there was no effort to fix the work they’d failed to complete. Their CEO claimed they needed approval from their board to waive the final balance after contract termination. They also told me that I would receive the code if I left 5-star reviews on four different platforms but failed to provide the product even when I provided evidence of these reviews. I have since removed all 5-star reviews.

I now have to get a new developer and start the entire project from scratch again. Also, I now have a very bad outlook on overseas developers. 

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

Any positives from my engagement with Dev Technosys were utterly negated by their unethical business practices. 

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

I’d advise customers to ask for references, even from their competitors, and look at online reviews. It’s also essential to meet with the technical team before signing a contract.

We wanted to develop an app that enables remote body measurements.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dev Technosys built and developed a web and mobile app that enables users to identify their body measurements remotely. We did everything with them such as designing the framework, creating mockups of the screens, and testing the system.

Over the course of the project, I only had one point of contact, but I would also talk with a couple of other people like the graphic designer and two web developers.

How did you come to work with Dev Technosys?

I was looking for development resources in India, because our app had to be developed for that region. I saw Dev Technosys through a Google search and found that they had a lot of great reviews for their mobile app development services.

We worked together from March 2020–May 2021.

In terms of the quality, I found that their work was better than the other companies I worked with, prior to engaging with Dev Technosys.

In our entire engagement, we’ve only had one miscommunication, but other than that, the partnership went smoothly. We would have weekly meetings every Friday to get briefed about the project, and I was relatively happy with how they managed my expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I liked about them is they always listened and implemented my suggestions, even if it was just a slight change. Dev Technosys was also respectful and appreciative of our feedback.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think they could improve on their graphic design service.

What I would recommend before working with Dev Technosys is to know what you need to get done, rather than waiting until the development phase to figure it all out. Prepare the documentation and requirements you may need because it would make the project much easier to accomplish.

We hired Dev Technosys for developing our online application for grocery shopping. Our goal being giving our customers a seamless experience of shopping for our goods wherever they are in Tanzania and we will deliver as per the regions we cover.

We had worked with them on another application for our coffee shop. Based on that project that went well we decided to have them work on the supermarket app as well.

We had a meeting on the required features for both the UI and UX. Upon approval the developers began the development process with first sharing the designs then proceeded with the coding process. Once done we had a few rounds of testing and fine tuning of both the mobile and web version of the application.

They did a good job in meeting all of the requirements. We can't complain.

Willingness to make changes even when we in the final parts of a particular agreed stage.

The Gantt Chart helped me look after the development plan; I’ve worked with other companies who didn’t do project management.

If they had availability after working hours, that’d be great, but there’s nothing I’d have them improve — I’m happy with them.

We needed to create a few solutions, including a mobile application and a backend panel for sales information.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dev Technosys helps us create our solutions. I give them the list of requirements and work with them on a weekly basis to figure out how to create them.

The parameters that I’ve given Dev Technosys are very challenging because they’re based on user preferences, the types of pharmacy items that suit them, and other requirements. I give Dev Technosys a basic overview of what I want to be done, and they take it from there.

Every project had its own components. For example, the mobile app project had its own sprints, which covered design and development for Android and iOS platforms. They also made a simple informational website with an admin panel where I can edit information.

Additionally, they created a panel to capture the e-commerce sales information of one of our other solutions. This panel gathers all the information needed and generates reports.

I’ve worked with 7–10 people from Dev Technosys, and I think that quite a few more people are working in the background.

How did you come to work with Dev Technosys?

I went through various companies on Clutch, and I saw many 4–5-star ratings on Dev Technosys’ profile. Platforms like this one are important when working with a company halfway across the world because, otherwise, we wouldn't know if we can trust the provider. I researched Clutch and found that it was quite a reputable website, so I contacted Dev Technosys based on that.

I spoke to a lot of providers before settling on them. Whenever I approached others, they would get back to me and pressure me to respond, trying to get the project started and receive a down payment.

However, my experience with Dev Technosys was completely different. They gave me all the information that I needed, they were respectful, and they gave me space to get back to them. When I did so, they weren’t eager to get a down payment. Instead, they went into detail on what I wanted.

I chose them because they seemed to know what they were doing, and it has worked out quite well.

We had an initial budget of $15,000, but it went up to $25,000. We’ll be spending another $25,000–$30,000 with Dev Technosys on future projects.

We started working with Dev Technosys in January 2020, and we’re still doing development and maintenance projects together every month.

This was my first time working with them, and I wasn’t sure how they worked, but they broke it down quite well for me. We’ve narrowed our process down and defined the relevant steps needed for development — it has worked quite well.

How did Dev Technosys perform from a project management standpoint?

Dev Technosys breaks down projects into sprints, and we test and review the work after each sprint. They use a project management tool where I can live-track all the work that they do. Additionally, we pay them after we approve the deliverable.

I like to get things done quickly, and Dev Technosys is always helpful, even on weekends — I’m really happy with them. Up until now, if I message them, they’ll get back to me as fast as they can.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There were a lot of things that could have gone wrong with the mobile app. However, Dev Technosys assisted me even past the maintenance period.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m really happy with their service, and I think there’s nothing they should improve on.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I knew nothing about mobile development when I started with them. Anyone in the same position as me needs to be very concise about all the features they want on their solution, and they need to determine how they want to get it done and what technology they need. From an overview, it’s quite easy to say that we’re happy with something, but we may not get what we want.

The nice thing about Dev Technosys is that they draw up software requirement specification documents with all the specifics that we need to know beforehand, which helps us avoid confusion down the line.

All the errors that I reported were not corrected even after a few months. Until I personally checked every bug and reported again that it was still not fixed, the team did nothing.

I believe that DevTechnosys have taken on a project that they cannot afford. The code is written poorly and crookedly. We asked at the very beginning to secure the code and make it ready for scaling, which we did not get as a result. The code is disgusting and it will have to be rewritten from scratch further. The code contains a screenshot from Instagram with an Indian man. Wow, OK.

After I submitted my bad review I’ve been contacted by the team and they asked me to specify all the problems again and promised to fix them. They fixed some problems, but the platform still does not fully work and there are moments that confuse me. I am grateful that the guys did not ignore my feedback, but I do not quite understand why the project could not have been initially done to the end so that such a situation simply does not arise

I reported every bug to the team, but the team has a very poorly organized feedback collection and I reminded them about each problem 2+ times. Even the reminder did not help and many problems were not fixed.

We got the written code and the platform in production, which does not work because of all the bugs that were never fixed. Only negative emotions and disappointment.

I had to push the team every time I needed to get something. I could wait for the answer for 3+ days, which made the work even slower.

Dev Technosys built an entire telemedicine website on WordPress for us based on my designs. Initially, we had meetings where I told them what I wanted. Then, they took a couple of weeks to do research and discovery and came back to me with documentation to approve before they started developing the site.

The website serves as a tool to connect doctors, patients, and clinics. The doctors invite the patients to join the portal, and they can connect. The patients can request appointments, ask questions, and connect with their doctors. Additionally, doctors can connect with their patient’s other doctors as well.

Dev Technosys’ project management was good. They stayed on top of the project and were responsive. Additionally, when they built something, they sent it to me to ask for feedback and adjust accordingly.

We had biweekly meetings, where they kept me informed, and we used Skype and GoToMeeting for communication.

Dev Technosys’ price and work speed were reasonable compared to other developers. Other companies that I interviewed said that they’d take longer and were more expensive.

It would be good if they could work a little bit faster. However, they did it well.
