BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the IT and Projects Manager at a Financial Services Company. We monitor over 200 agent locations in country, for a variety of financial transactions with a wide cross- section of customers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire DCI Solutions, and what were your goals?

Our daily and monthly agent reconciliations were very manual and time consuming and open to errors. We required a solution to aggregate all our transactions that come out of various sources, and create a single point of calculating daily agent reimbursements and monthly commission payouts. The solution had to be scalable, be able to provide relevant reports to our stakeholders and allow for seamless integration to our accounting backend.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

DCI was referred to our company and had done some consulting work for us. Their responsiveness and quick alignment with our business goals pushed us to engage their software development offering.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

DCI designed and implemented a web based application that was able to consume the various transaction records and output the relevant reporting to allow for integration to our accounting systems and to advise stakeholders of balances owed. Requirement gathering was completed within a few weeks.

DCI would have worked closely with our in- house personnel to ensure accuracy of the requirements throughout the development phase and were intimately involved in guiding the testing process. They were also able to provide adequate customized user manuals.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We mainly worked with 4 members of the DCI team, including a project manager, and software engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

This project allowed us to significantly decrease our processing times and better meet our service level agreements with our payees, which was a key indicator for this project. The solution also freed up internal resources for other tasks.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Project management was effective and the DCI team was consistently available, flexible and quick to action. Communication was clear and timelines were kept. Communication was mainly via email, phone calls and Whatsapp.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

DCI Solutions team was very responsive and understood our business needs quickly. They were bale to make valuable suggestions to improve our processes and pushed to ensure timelines were met.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

My best suggestion is for DCI to be a bit more timely with documentation. Adequately outlining the step by step processes to achieve project deliverables would help, especially for audit purposes.
