I am the director of a travel company that promotes work and travel opportunities for Canadian youth. We have an exchange program in partnership with the Canadian government.

What challenge were you trying to address with Day Shift Digital?
We needed to update our website to make it more relatable to a young audience. We also wanted to automate the website and look more modern to improve our reach and conversions.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Day Shift Digital built our website from scratch. Initially, Day Shift Digital discussed with us and sent us different design options and color palettes. The team helped us figure out what we wanted regarding the web design so we could give them better direction. Day Shift Digital created our site’s design using Figma and considering our demographic targets. The team also analyzed our competitors and our previous marketing materials.
Day Shift Digital built our site on Shopify, which we already used to push our sales through. Our previous site worked on WordPress, and Day Shift Digital migrated it to Shopify. The team introduced us to new technologies like Typeform, which they integrated into our site with a workflow that helped us assess eligibility for our programs.
Moreover, Day Shift Digital integrated videos into our website and our sales section so our users didn’t have to jump to an external Shopify site. The team also integrated a direct contact form. We had challenges with launching the site and getting the proper files hosted correctly, and Day Shift Digital’s team worked a little outside of the project scope to help us resolve that issue.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Tom (Agency Owner), Paula (Web Developer), and a designer. Once the design phase was completed, Tom and Paula took over and created training videos to walk us through the new website and design.

One of our team members knew Tom’s wife, and a friend from a different organization also recommended Day Shift Digital. We looked at their website and liked their company.

We recently launched our website and received many compliments on the design. Users found the new web design more user-friendly and modern, and the platform was more useful and trustworthy than our previous site. Day Shift Digital was very thorough and quick to help us. The team was very helpful and went above and beyond to launch our website.

Day Shift Digital’s project management was fantastic. The scheduling was well laid out, and we met periodically through Google Meet. The team updated our project schedule as necessary when we had to push deadlines due to vacations or other reasons. Moreover, Day Shift Digital met monthly goals and had excellent communication with us. The team stayed on budget and sent timely invoices.

The website will have the ability to scale up as the client needs. A key emphasis on this build will be on the backend user experience. The scope of work included QA, revisions and testing.

Day Shift Digital completed all deliverables as planned, on time and with high quality. They provided post-launch support to both Principles and our client, Rygiel Supports for Community Living, due to their proactive support / training videos, as well as the availabilility to problem-solve and join a meeting as questions came up. The client was blown away with their new website and had minimal feedback for revisions during the build.

Project management is an area Day Shift Digital excels at. Timelines were met, and advance notice was provided if they foresaw a potential conflict to our schedule so that we could adjust to be mutally benefit. Communication was provided mainly by email; responses were received in a timeline manner, and updates were sent regularly while we were in the development phase.

We were working with a local design firm on an entire re-brand of the the company. With that, we desired a new website. The local firm was lacking the expertise we sought for a Shopify redesign.
The scope involved an entirely new look, feel, and functionality. Integration of our existing reviews, migration of the blog and working within the framework of a Shopify page editor - as requested. This, while retaining all Shopify data and while maintaining our daily sales activity without interupption. So we reached out to a number of Canadian firms, seeking quotes and proposals given our scope.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our new website is exactly as we envisioned it. Dayshift Digital nailed the execution with the application of the brand design and website functionality. Our record sales in '24 and increased conversion are further proof of the success.

Tom and his team are highly responsive, consummate professionals. We were fairly demanding and particular about specific items and they worked tirelessly to achieve the desired result.

This was one of those projects from the very start that just ran smooth. In large part because of Day Shift Digitals project management skills. They provided ways that they felt based on the project that we can communicate most effectively on open and closed items, overall project updates and tracking towards deliverables. The entire project was delivered on time and on budget.

I am the executive assistant at Log Books Unlimited based in Toronto. We work with customers in a variety of industries to and produce record-keeping tools that comply with by-laws, codes and standards.

For what projects/services did your company hire Day Shift Digital?
Our websites were created a long time ago and had become outdated and not very functional. We hired Day Shift Digital to completely redo our websites. We want to make it easy for customers to view our log books and checkout. By updating the design we are hoping to increase traffic and appeal to more users.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We looked for web designers in our area using Google and LinkedIN. After reviewing a few proposals, we chose Day Shift Digital because they were responsive, affordable and were willing to give us to tools to make changes on our own.

After the initial meeting to discuss our goals, we agreed upon redoing our Canadian & American Shopify websites. Day Shift Digital gave us initial mood boards, timelines and an edit platform to use. Once we chose a moodboard and decided on the website map, they began the design process and allowed us to give feedback all the way through. They created new pages for us as well as updated old pages. The launch of the websites were seamless and they have provided us with training videos as well as after launch help.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had one main point of Contact but had meetings with a few designers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Once we announced our launches, both websites had a lot more site traffic. We are already hearing from our customers about how the new websites are much more appealing and easy to navigate.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Day Shift Digital was very easy to communicate with and provided us with updates as well as answered all of our emails and questions promptly. We had video calls but many of the changes/ feedback was through SmartSheets. Everything was delivered on time or ahead of schedule.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Day Shift Digital has a very streamline process. We were NEVER confused about the next steps. None of our team had any knowledge about Shopify websites but Day Shift Digital made it very simple for us to follow along. The training videos they have provided are invaluable to us. We have nothing but positive things to say about Day Shift Digital.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There is nothing we feel that could have gone better. The experience was seamless and very positive!

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a sales and marketing organization that supports Canadian publishers. We sell and market their digital content, including e-books, audiobooks, and more. We take the files that make up their physical products and use them to create the digital versions, which we then sell through various platforms.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Day Shift Digital?
We wanted to build a website that focused on content to support publishers and was accessible to the disabled community. The product was an educational platform that contained searchable content to help someone in a book production role get the information they need to make their work accessible too. The second requirement was that the site be a place for our community to come together and have discussions.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built the site from scratch, working with a project manager from our side. The site is built on WordPress. They also provide ongoing SEO in the form of implementing our original keyword research in the various articles and digital assets on our website.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with a number of people, including Paula (Web Developer), Tom (Owner), a project lead, and some graphic design resources. I didn’t manage the project directly, however, so I’m not certain of the specifics. I do know that they had people with deep knowledge of various arenas, though, pulling them in when needed.
How did you come to work with Day Shift Digital?
Our project manager tapped into their network and spoke to a bunch of people. We ended up reaching out to 5–6 organizations. We liked Day Shift because they listened to us and seemed highly flexible. Their curiosity also stood out to us in this time.
How much have you invested with them?
The total cost is around $80,000–$100,000 CAD (approximately $61,000–$77,000 USD) so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since May 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re delighted and excited with the platform. The site is going through beta testing with a small group of publishers, and we’ve only had to make small tweaks. The quality of the work is very high.

They’ve never been late and always deliver on time and budget. We use Zoom and email to communicate, and Day Shift’s team has a project tracking system that they use.

Their ability to learn on the fly really stands out.

No, not that I’ve seen.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Definitely partner with them if you can. Working with them is like working with someone already on your team in terms of their responsiveness and flexibility. They worked through a true learning period around accessibility alongside us so we could really help our audience.

We transitioned our ecommerce site from our technology with a Wordpress front end to a single page application. This meant we needed to restructure our github pages into something that could be parsed through the API and SPA. The idea was to use java and gulp to restructure the github data, but we had no internal resources to do the work under a tight timeframe.

Dayshift and I previously worked together on two website redesign projects, so I came to them with my dilemma to see if they could assist. Tom and Anthony worked with us to make sure they understood the requirements.

We did discovery, outlined the work, they drafted a proposal, I accepted and gave them access to our github.

Tom is the co-founder and main face at Dayshift and we had worked on various projects before. Tom managed the project. Anthony was Dayshift's front end dev who did the day-to-day coding but also provided updates, training when required and answered questions.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
It got done! The job was dirty on our end - not ideal to use a SPA on an e-commerce site - but Anthony and Tom took care of us and were transparent.

Typically we just email each other - that's all I required.

When I trust a vendor and they provide solid and quality work on time and at a reasonable price, I always go back and refer business. Dayshift fits that criteria perfectly.
