Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a general construction company. We also do maintenance, electrical, and plumbing. I’m one of the executives in the firm.

What challenge were you trying to address with Data Collaboration Services?

I wanted to convert the company to a SharePoint system, which I had set up at my old firm.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They completed the whole transaction, and it was much smoother than my with my old firm. The old system was a Peer-to-Peer network with one server. They set up the phones, email, personal laptops, and iPads. They took care of anything and everything that revolved around communications.

What is the team composition?

We worked with four people, total.

How did you come to work with Data Collaboration Services?

We found them on Microsoft’s list of approved vendors. They were one of four companies that we interviewed. They were all equally qualified, but I liked that Data Collaboration Services didn’t say that they knew everything, but they did their best to show that they knew things.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together early last year. It took about two months, and it was a series of tasks. They were very cooperative throughout the process and work is ongoing with maintenance.  

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m extremely satisfied, and I’ve been recommending to other colleagues. I’m also an architect, so I have a lot of office work type people that I recommend them to.

How did Data Collaboration Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a great customer-minded mentality. They make us feel like we’re the only ones there at that moment. We appreciate that. Their knowledge is also immense,  and they’ve worked us through every problem and fixed our issues. We communicate via text, phone call, email, and in-person.

What did you find most impressive about them?

 I’ve worked with many IT people in the last 15-20 years, and I feel that their pricing is reasonable. We get a lot of bang for our buck. We get 2-3 people from them at a time if need be. They’re also patient, which is a plus. They never belittle me for not knowing something.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they've always proven themselves.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to give them as much information as possible about what your needs are. I told them what I wanted to experience and what I didn’t, and they made sure I was happy. It was great, overall.

I’m the manager of a manufacturer and wholesale retailer of a wig and hairpiece company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Data Collaboration Services?

We first contacted them when our server crashed. We lost a lot of information because we weren’t on the cloud at that point. More recently, we reached out to them for SEO services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When the server crashed, they recovered the most recent information possible from our hard drive. Since then, they’ve continued to provide cloud support by backing up our information regularly. They also do firewall updates. 

For the SEO project, they submitted a proposal explaining to us how to best optimize our website. They did keyword research and helped us with writing blog posts. We approved the keywords they recommended to us. 

What is the team composition?

My main points of contact were Ken and Ricardo. 

How did you come to work with Data Collaboration Services?

We were referred to them by the accounting software company we use. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $15,000 so far. We just renewed our contract for their services, and we currently spend about $550 per month. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked with them since mid-2016. However, they only began offering SEO services to us in April 2020. The work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve already seen an increase in website activity and traffic since they started providing SEO assistance. We’re getting one to two more orders per month, so we’re getting a good return on investment. 

How did Data Collaboration Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicate via email. If I email them with a problem, they immediately call me back so we can get everything sorted as quickly as possible. They visit our office about once a month. They’re always there and we can rely on them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re present and reliable. We’re a small business and we value working with vendors face-to-face. It’s nice to have a strong relationship with another small business. They take the time to explain their work to us. They’re smart and know how to think critically. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

I’ve never had a problem with them. Even when I’m confused, they take the time to explain and are very patient. If there was something we wanted them to improve, they would work with us to figure it out.
