I initially sent them an outline of what I intended to do. Core Mobile App Development came back with suggestions, and we’ve gone over everything during numerous video calls. We’ve used Figma for the design, and the plan is for the app to be available on iOS and Android. However, we are focusing on the Android development right now.

I found them through a Google search. I wanted to work with a local company, so I initially contacted about four companies. I ended up choosing Core Mobile App Development because they were very responsive from the beginning.

We started working together in November 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

We are currently in the MVP stage, so we do not have any hard metrics. However, their work has exceeded my expectations, and the quality of the work is very high.

Whatever I needed was taken care of. Emails were always replied to in a reasonable time for Zoom and phone calls. It is just as important for you to keep track of timelines as well as set deadlines and achievements. All in all i had a great experience.

That they appear to have a family oriented feeling to them. Not so much of a coordinated corporate “give us your money” feel. Nothing but organic energy from this team.

A little more communication amongst both parties. However the quality of each communication was great.

Our mobile platform was built with a unique algorithm that allows for trades to match and automate in a seamless way - helping to reduce complications or security concerns that may arise in most cases. Integrating an administrative dashboard on our website also helps us to organize and manage all transactions efficiently and effectively. Core has successfully accomplished this very intricate task for us on every level.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

A comprehensive search for the right vendor was a long and tedious process for us. Experience, location, and cost were all major factors in our decision process. Though Core wasn’t the lowest price, we felt more confident in working with them since that had offices and HQ based in the US versus abroad. We’ve interviewed approximately 30 companies domestic and international and found Core to be the best fit for us. We have no regrets moving forward with them.

The scope involved in our project was very broad. They began by creating an outline of the work and level of effort required for each task and assigned a timeline by which they had anticipated to complete each item. The project was completed in phases with open lines of communication at all times whether it be via e-mail or zoom calls, Core always made themselves available to us in an effort to stay transparent and keep us up-to-date on all the aspects involved along the way. Several beta tests were done prior to official launch. Even afterwards, Core was responsive in helping us to address bugs and glitches that needed to be fixed in a timely manner.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had a project manager who was a main point of contact all throughout the development process. In most of the correspondence we had, the other IT developers were also present whether it was e-mail or zoom calls. Core Media has a solid team and work well together to accomplish the stated goals.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within the first 6 months, we have now garnered over 1,300 downloads / active users and have seen many trades take place on our platform. Our ratings vary between 4-5 stars on iOS and google play store. We are seeing traffic on our platform continue to grow steadily and have many satisfied customers as expressed via social media.

Communication with Core Media was never really an issue. The project manager made himself via e-mail, text messaging, and zoom calls… some of them even with screen sharing to have more in depth discussions. Certain elements in the development process took longer than others, so when an extension was required, it was communicated to us ahead of time. In this line of work, communication is key and Core seems to have a firm grasp on that.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It’s one thing to find a company who is willing to build what you ask for… but to find one who expresses true care about their clients and their clients needs is rare. We don’t consider ourselves that tech savvy, so when we come across terms or phraseology that we are unfamiliar with in the realms of coding, they know how to switch gears and communicate it to us in a way that’s much easier to comprehend. Also, when we’ve faced certain issues that cropped up which we didn’t initially see or anticipate, Core was able to find real world solutions and give us options as to what direction would yield us the most optimal results. That is going above and beyond in my book.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As is the case with many forms of communication, sometimes messages can get misconstrued whether it be via e-mail or text messages. When there are misunderstandings, sometimes unnecessary tensions may arise and the correspondence can get circular at times… or even lost in the countless threads. However, whenever such instances happened (far and few in between), we would agree to jump on a call to clear the air getting back on the same page working together on a common goal where we all find contentment and success.

I’m the owner of the company Kickstandapp LLC, our goal is to create a social sneaker marketplace that connects sneaker boutiques from across the country and brings them to a single platform where users can browse/shop their inventory.

I came into the project with a base concept/design that was a bit outdated and didn’t capture the full process of my vision. My goal with Core Mobile was to have them take my original design to the next level, and provide a more up to date UI while improving the original flow to create a complete app. Not only did they deliver, between the great feedback, willingness to listen to my ideas, and the creative vision of Ile, we were able to introduce some new concepts that I feel put my project over the top! The Core Mobile team definitely exceeded my expectations!

I did a lot of research and reached out to several mobile app development companies before coming to my decision. What stood out to me the most about Core Mobile was their willingness to work with me as a potential new client despite me not being a major company. Within a couple days of my initial call, we were on zoom meetings discussing C/D and the scope of the project. Another deciding factor was their approach to the mobile app dev process. While most companies want to bundle and charge the full cost of C/D and development, Core Mobile takes a two-step approach and separates the two making it a more focused effort and cost effective for a startup such as myself.

We initially started with the discovery phase where I displayed my existing demo/material and described the areas I would like to improve upon. Will and Michael then shared this info with their design team, and quickly put together a detailed step by step guideline to the C/D process including steps to completion, technology and task breakdowns and a statement of work with deliverables. Next, we moved into the design phase where I worked closely with Michael and Ile as they created the new concept and design. The entire C/D was developed within the Figma prototyping platform, where they designed a new custom user interface which included the design of each screen and every visible functional workflow for the app. The final stage was deployment, in which we finalized the design, and they delivered all the files for my project in a timely and professional manner.

I worked with three key members of the Core Mobile App team. I did my initial onboarding With Will Manuel (President) and Michael Deku (Sr. Project Manager), where we discussed the details and they assembled a full scope and timeline of concept and development stage. Thereafter, Michael became the primary project manager and I worked closely with him and their Designer Ile J. (Mobile UI/UX designer) for the remainder of the project. Both Michael and Ile were very professional and responsive to my request.

We had several touchpoints throughout the C/D process. We had multiple breakthrough moments where our discussions would lead to new and more efficient ways for the app to flow. Every time Ile would update the design, I was more and more impressed. He did an awesome job at taking my feedback and ideas and improving the project week by week. I was very impressed by his creativity and forward thinking, and his vision helped bring this app to life.

I enjoyed the engaged and hands-on management style Core Mobile displayed throughout the process. Michael was very responsive and took all my ideas into consideration and did his best to make sure all my needs were met. Whenever I wanted to schedule a meeting, Michael and Ile were always available and open to talk. Our primary source of communication was zoom calls when it came to design updates, and email to discuss the next steps of the project. Core Mobile provided me the freedom to express all my ideas and implemented them in the concept and design.

Even though I’m a small startup company, they made me feel like my project was just as important as a large contract. Also, they are very transparent in their processes, so I felt comfortable working with them and sharing all my ideas. Their openness, transparency, and creative ideas played a major role in getting the project where it is today.
