The project was to build a website for a large corporate firm, a 100+ page site, from supplied Figma designs. Coditive delivered the front-end build using Nuxt, working from roughly 20 page templates that were reused and combined across the full site. The content was managed through a headless WordPress CMS, giving the client a familiar editing environment while keeping the front end fast and flexible. The design brief constantly evolved during the project, so the team had to adapt templates and components as requirements developed, while keeping the build consistent and on schedule.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was delivered on time and on budget, despite an evolving design brief. The migration to the new website went smoothly, with no disruption at launch and no negative impact on SEO, so the client kept their existing search visibility through the transition. The client was pleased with the polished, animated finish, and the CMS gave their team an easy way to manage content from day one.

Project management was a real strength. Items were consistently delivered on time, and communication was always clear and responsive. The team brought a positive, can-do attitude throughout, even when the end-client was challenging and the brief kept evolving. They were also very transparent about scope: whenever a request counted as new work or needed extra budget, they said so clearly and early, so there were no grey areas or awkward surprises on either side. They felt like an extension of our own team.

What stood out most was the combination of strong technical proficiency and consistently clear, responsive communication. They handled a complex build with confidence, picking up new requirements and solving problems quickly, and they always kept us informed so we never had to chase for updates. That mix is rarer than it should be, and it made them easy to rely on for this demanding project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Coditive could have done differently?

Very little to criticise. All communication was via email, chat and virtual meetings, which worked well, and responses were usually quick. The one thing I’d suggest is a phone or WhatsApp contact for out-of-hours emergencies, as that would be reassuring on launch days or time-critical changes. This is a minor point rather than a problem, as I rarely had to wait long for a reply on email or chat.

At the moment, I am building various functionalities for multiple webshops, and I’m doing everything with custom themes. However, I’ve noticed that I’m working less efficiently now. So, I want to consolidate everything—all functionalities—into a parent theme. Then, for each site, I want to be able to adjust the styling and unique features through a child theme. This means, for example, that I would only need to update WooCommerce template files once in the parent theme. I would only need to set up the Vite environment once, and I’d only have to build and update the basic components and functionalities once.

So, my question is: can you guide me through the process of merging four themes I currently have into one well-functioning parent theme? I also need help with integrating the child theme, so I can easily work with both.

A few years ago, we implemented AMP on our WooCommerce shops. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a poor decision. Removing AMP from our WooCommerce shops was a very labor-intensive process and too extensive for our in-house developers. Therefore, we retained Coditive for removing AMP from our online shops. Coditive first created a project plan and then took over the necessary coding work. The revised code was then reviewed by our in-house developer and subsequently deployed to the live sites.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Full AMP code removal allowed to us a number of features that so far we hadn't been able to implement because of AMP. In addition, AMP caused numerous onpage SEO errors that are gone since the non-AMP code is live.

A few months into our engagement, they sent us to sign a retainer contract without discussing it first. I would have expected them to schedule a call with us first to discuss it. In general, I felt that they always prefer to communicate using written communication. However, sometimes a call is more appropriate, especially to discuss complex topics.
