Our goal was to make our website look pretty and work great. Communicating back and forth via email, we were able to have a very smooth and easy going process. Everything was simple and easy to understand. All the people we worked with were extremely talented and truly delivered excellent results.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Website Design- This portion of the project cost between $15,000 - $20,000. The overall design was acceptable but left a LOT to be desired. I found that a few critical pages, such as the thank you page for a customer submitting contact information, or a page describing our products, was incredibly basic. The homepage design highlighted their work whereas other pages were rushed and sloppy. 

Since our contract has ended, I have been using Freelancers to go back and re-design the rushed pages and found that what I received from Coalition I could have had designed for less than a 10th of the price I paid. 

SEO Service- We spent roughly $40,000 on SEO with Coalition over the course of one year. This was a complete waste of money and provided almost no value at all. Content creation was incredibly basic, keyword research was non-existent, and blog page designs are basically unusable.

 Over the course of a year we received a handful of backlinks, most of which were of absolutely no value. We did not receive a single organic lead from their SEO efforts over the entire time they were managing our SEO services.

The website design took many months longer than was expected and it was not due to any specific issue. They just took a long time to deliver the design product. While the people I dealt with were pleasant and responsive, we were billed for every email, virtual meeting, and phone conversation we ever had.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was not impressed by this company. As a matter of fact, I feel as if I paid far to much money for an inferior product and service.

All areas can be improved. I don't feel that any of the services they provided were of value. As previously stated, we spent more than $50,000+ for less than $5,000 of value. I would not recommend them to anybody.

Coalition Technologies has been an amazing digital marketing agency offering a variety of services working with companies big and small and at all different stages of entrepreneurship. In exchange for a review, I was offered a free CRO Audit. This entails an insightful, actionable task list of tasks they have identified which would enable my company to thrive, compete, and come to full functionality. Coalition’s team has been patient, compassionate, empathetic, and down to earth. 

They are easy to talk to, and are hospitable despite, your role, or stage in the entrepreneurship process. We spent a good forty-five minutes to hour and half on our introductory call. That lets you know that even potential clients truly matter; as that was only our first call without any monetary exchange and they were still performing as if I was a paid client. 

The lengths Joy, the strategist has gone through to properly research and understand the industry, my business, it’s target demographic, and my competitors speaks volumes on the type of company Coalition really is. Again, all of this, prior to becoming a paid client. As a small business owner I think it’s important to highlight this as I’ve spent hours researching, vetting and speaking to several companies. 

Coalition went out of their way to still find a way to work with me and meet me where I am, financially in the pre-revenue stage. For marginalized groups, small business owners, and those in similar predicaments it is definitely worth it. Review the case studies, and get on a call as they are really committed and dedicated to entrepreneurs properly starting, maintaining and growing.

I recently had a pretty bad experience with another company that ended up hurting my business and I needed a team who could thoroughly identify the problems which spanned from on page issues to less than scrupulous linking and citation issues.

After carefully looking into another agency, I found Coalition Technologies. I immediately felt listened to and sympathy from the first guy I talked to. They called me back shortly with a comprehensive plan to get my business back on track and in the favor of google again.

We researched a lot of companies before engaging work with Coalition, and after a very careful consideration, we decided to move forward with them. The fact that they are capable in multi-facet digital marketing is also a big deciding factor for us.

At first we started with just SEO and GoogleAds. There was not a lot of work being done just yet at that time, but they did an audit for us before starting working together and identified key opportunities that we could focus on. The first two months consisted of a lot of set ups and getting on the same page about the business, keywords, etc, but after that they were able to hit the ground running.

We have a project manager, 2 account manager for email marketing, and once in a while get in touch with the PPC technician and copywriters.

The GoogleAds has been the best performing for us so far. Since engaging work with them, we have seen a steady stream of sales through our direct website, much more so than the past year before working with them.

We have a biweekly touchbase to go over the campaign or any questions/ concerns that come up during that week. On top of that, we also have a project management board that we use to constantly communicate tasks and progress with the team.

I’m the CEO of a cannabis delivery service in Oakland, California. We service the entire Bay Area.

What challenge were you trying to address with Coalition Technologies?

We needed help with creating the frontend of a website to link it to our business shopping page, and we also needed SEO work within that website. Our goal was to give our company a face and create a brand so that our customers could have a brand to follow. We also wanted to increase our engagement and notability within our industry.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Coalition Technologies has helped us build our website in WordPress from scratch, and they now provide us with SEO services for it. They’ve also helped us manage our Google My Business account, and they’ve used Cloudways for hosting. Additionally, they continue making changes to our website as needed.

Given that it is a cannabis website, it has distinct features. As soon as a user accesses it, it asks them if they’re 21 years or older — or 18 years if they have a medical recommendation — to enter the site. Once there, users can see a lot of great information regarding cannabis and how to use it to help them find the products that suit them the most.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with around 20 people from Coalition Technologies. Their core team has around seven people, including digital producers, developers, web designers, marketing specialists, social media specialists, and SEO copywriters.

How did you come to work with Coalition Technologies?

Our in-house strategist found them after a lot of research and interviews with various SEO and web development companies. Initially, we had a call with them and sent them a briefing about our company and the services we were looking for, and we took it from there.

Coalition Technologies stood out from the other companies because they seemed to have a pretty good team structure. The way they distributed their assignments was very good for us; they designated each part of the project to team members with expertise in that area, which would help us get better results. Additionally, they were more affordable, and their prices were more reasonable than other companies.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around March 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.

Thanks to Coalition Technologies, we’ve been able to create a positive and seamless shopping experience for our customers. The UX is great, and our customers have been reacting well to our new site.

Coalition Technologies is timely and fair with the budget. They’ve even done extra work for us free of charge. We communicate with them via Zoom, Basecamp, and phone calls.

Coalition Technologies’ communication skills are very noticeable compared to others. They’re on top of everything, and they delegate work very well in order to get things done in a timely manner. Additionally, they put a lot of effort into their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

For the most part, I’m very satisfied with Coalition Technologies. If anything, it would be great if they had someone more available during the weekends because our business runs seven days a week, and it would be great to have their support every day.

Our President found Coalition on Google and reached out for an initial meeting. We first met with Charles to get a better understanding of what Coalition had to offer. After learning more about their services, and the excitement that Charles had about this partnership, we felt a special connection with Coalition. They were the first SEO company we talked with who actually cared about the work we were doing, and wanted to come alongside us and help us grow.

We shared all the big and small details - anything and everything that would help Coalition better understand our goals and desires for our future. After this initial call, there was lots of follow up for clarification. This led to another call where they then laid out how we would reach our goals. They helped us with different factors of SEO including keyword research, website copy, content, design, development, reporting, and analytics.

We are very much in the beginning stages, but since implementing, our site traffic is already growing! In general, Coalition has been reporting analytics to us often and all of the analytics are trending positive and setting us up for success.

There are many amazing things about Coalition - but the best two things is their work and their personality. Everyone on the team truly cares about this project and we can feel their passion and belief for our company. They truly want us to succeed, and that reflects in the conversations they have with us. On top of that, their talk is NOT cheap. They work quickly and efficiently and produce such great work.

After their first batches of copy were written, it was clear that they effectively understood who we were as a company, and they were able to convey that in an 'seo' efficient way through copy! Just today we received what's on the agenda for the following weeks for them to roll out, and they are on top of it all and get everything checked off the list so quickly!

We searched and looked for a reputable company to work with. When I stumbled upon an ad from Coalition Technologies. I reached out to Coalition Technologies and submitted an online application.

From there, Faye created the theme for us and developed the home page based on my target audience. She provided me with a step-by-step instruction including screen shots on how I can input the product information.

I cannot provide a measurable outcome since we have not launch yet. But overall, I am happy with the deliverables. Coalition was very responsive. Faye always makes herself available each time I have a question.

We communicated mostly through emails. Faye is very timely in responding to my questions. She even wrote down a step-by-step instruction and created a how-to video to help me navigate throughout the process of setting up my ecommerce store.

I find most impressive is the ability to use a human side of the business. Their ability to empathize with me helped me overcome the daunting task of setting up my e-commerce business. I have encountered some IT individuals who do not know how to relate with small business owner. They act like a robot.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Since I'm on a free website project, there are certain things that she cannot help me with which I understand. I just wish that it can be extended to theme and design customization beyond theme installation.
