Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a school bus student management safety company. Our mandate is to educate student riders, their parents and school bus operators in safe student management principles in order to reduce injuries and deaths on or around a school bus.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Cedex Technologies LLP?

Cedex was hired to create an App to educate student riders in the safety principles to follow on an around a school bus. Cedex also created a back end data program which tracks the usage of the app to ensure the program is completed - this is accessed by the school districts who purchased the App.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals for this project were to create the App and data tracking program. The goals were completed in a timely manner with great attention to detail by Cedex.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I was connected to this vendor through a contact who had used them for another project. My contact was very pleased with the work she had completed by Cedex and highly recomended them to me.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Cedex created the data tracking program first to specifications that were provided them by a computer program analyst, Cedex worked within these parameters and provided input which would be more benefitial to the program. Cedex created the App with documentation of what the finished product "should" look like, they provided feedback and kept an open dialogue to ensure that I would be happy with the finished product.

What was the team composition?

I cannot speak to who all was on their team, I did work with 4 individuals during this process, I am in Canada and Cedex is in India which did not allow me to meet with anyone in person. All our business was conducted online.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Without this project I would not have a business. I have launched with this as my first product but will indeed be contracting Cedex to create more products for me in the future.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

There were some issues that were caused simply by the 12 hour time difference. As with any IT product there were some snags in time lines and deadlines but all in all I am very satisfied with how Cedex managed the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am very impressed with how this company, with a language barrier, did their upmost to understand exactly what I was wanting. I am not in any way shape or form versed in IT and they were extremely patient and explained things thoroughly.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I am very pleased with Cedex and the work they did!

We wanted to build a more sophisticated website to improve our credibility and expand our audience, but we didn’t have the necessary resources to develop the platform in-house.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cedex Technologies built the front- and backend of our new, modular website using the Laravel’s PHP framework. They designed a user-friendly admin panel and created two unique user paths for volunteers and organizations. Prominent features on the platform include an online appointment book and a listings page of volunteer opportunities.

What is the team composition?

They assigned a project manager to our account, but we also interacted with their key designer on a regular basis.

Our search for developers with Laravel expertise led us to Cedex Technologies. We felt very comfortable working with them after talking to their former clients and getting a sense of their communication style.

My development skills are strong, but technically out-dated. Generally, I do all of the client engagement and consulting, specification development, and QA. Cedex brings the up-to-date technical skills and knowledge to develop the solutions that I have outlined with my clients. This involves MySQL and PHP projects of a range of different sizes.

What was the team composition?

I do the systems analysis, QA, and project management on the client side, while they work on the development-side project management and provide one to three developers, depending on the size of the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

I would not be able to compete on my own in software consulting. Cedex is my go-to team with the technical skills needed to provide excellent, robust service and solutions to my clients. They have several years of proven and reliable service with me, and I can always count on them as a key component of my business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I manage the overall project schedule and set timelines for development. The Cedex project manager allocates resources and manages the team to meet development timelines. This model is extremely effective and we've never missed a project delivery.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I've worked with several offshore vendors; some good and some not as good. I used to have a constant struggle with finding good developers that were always available or could maintain good quality.

When I started working with Cedex, that problem was solved. I've done several projects with them, over several years. Their quality standards, technical expertise, and ability to deliver have never suffered, and we've been able to build a trusting relationship that gives me the degree of confidence I was seeking in an offshore provider.
