Cartoon Mango helped in developing and Android and iOS app. Key deliverable in the project was to replicate the features that were available on the website, and add the new custom features that offers a seamless reading, listening and payment experience on an app.

Since the launch of the app, it received more than 30K + downloads within the first few months. Though it had a few glitches and bugs, it improved the podcast listening experience for our users.

We have two products, one launched and one not launched. The product we didn’t launch was a sales performance management platform, and I engaged Cartoon Mango to help us design its UI/UX and develop it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cartoon Mango designed our sales performance management platform’s UI/UX. They created user journeys for the platform’s use cases and created a prototype. Although we initially divided the project into the UI/UX design and the product build, we didn’t end up building the product. 

Additionally, Cartoon Mango did a UI/UX design exploration for a potential scale-up of our marketplace platform’s MVP, GigsNearMe.

I worked with Vinod (Co-Founder & CTO), a sales teammate, a project manager, and 2–3 UI/UX designers.

Vinod was very helpful. He really understood what we were trying to do, so there wasn’t a lot we had to tell the Cartoon Mango team. Vinod's understanding of the user journey made me feel comfortable. 

How did you come to work with Cartoon Mango?

I found them online while looking for UI/UX design companies. Cartoon Mango had a good set of products we related to, including marketplace products. They also worked in the IPL Fantasy League space, and we felt that kind of creativity could really help us. After an initial exploration, we decided to work with Cartoon Mango.

We worked together from January 2019–January 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Cartoon Mango’s work exceeded my expectations; they came up with the best possible UX for our product. We wanted to build an enterprise-level SaaS product, and even though Cartoon Mango hadn’t done any work in the hospitality space, they understood the process and created a great product. They took some in-platform processes from 15 clicks to three clicks, which was a phenomenal result. 

Every person I’ve shown the prototype to has been amazed by Cartoon Mango’s work. The creativity and thought process that went into the design is incredible. Ultimately, we didn’t build the platform due to financial reasons on our end. However, I’m still considering pursuing the platform, and if we ever do, we’ll work with Cartoon Mango. We’ll also work with them if we pursue the marketplace MVP scale-up. 

Because of how easy it was to work with them, I recommended them to a friend in Spain who is now developing two products with Cartoon Mango. 

How did Cartoon Mango perform from a project management standpoint?

The project was on budget — Cartoon Mango never went a penny above the budget. The team also consistently delivered on time. They defined clear lines for each aspect of the process, and the project manager constantly followed up with us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The best thing about Cartoon Mango was their commitment — they don’t do half jobs. Before hiring them, I took the project to someone else and got burnt because that provider left the product half-finished. Cartoon Mango's team committed to completing the project — no two ways about it. They consistently delivered, which they’re also doing for my friend in Spain. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although there was nothing they needed to improve, they could gain more domain knowledge and promote themselves to different spaces. They’re not scaling as they should for the capability they have. If they had domain knowledge going into any industry’s project, that could help them grow. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know exactly what you want; define the scope very clearly and write down your product’s use cases, which will define how Cartoon Mango will look at the product. You should build out the high-level customer journey with the different entities. From there, go into the user stories and what each user would do in that system. Then, connect the user stories to the overall journey and process of the platform. 

Doing these steps will help Cartoon Mango connect the dots better than you trying to explain everything over a call. If you give them written specifications, the team can ask detailed questions. As a product owner, sometimes you don’t realize what could be potentially conflicting from a technical standpoint, even if it makes sense from a narrative perspective. If you write things down, you think twice about what you’re asking for. 

Overall, give Cartoon Mango as much information as possible to improve turnaround times.

Cartoon Mango also helped Cotton Monk to develop digital applications to support their manufacturing process, such as mobile applications for inventory management and production tracking.

As a result of the ERP implementation and automation solutions provided by Cartoon Mango, our textile manufacturing process saw significant improvements in efficiency and streamlined operations.

We were able to better manage our resources and inventories with the integrated systems and data sources, and the digital applications developed by Cartoon Mango improved communication and coordination among employees, while reducing paperwork and increasing mobility. Overall, we were very satisfied with the deliverables and the measurable outcomes of the project.

From our experience, Cartoon Mango has a very organized project management process. They used a combination of different communication tools such as email, whatsapp, slack and project management software to keep us updated throughout the project.

They were very responsive to our needs and provided regular progress reports and timelines to ensure that the project was on track. They were always available to answer any questions or concerns we had in a timely manner. Overall the process was smoother and reliable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We found that Cartoon Mango's most impressive and unique quality was their ability and process to understand our business needs and tailor their solutions to fit our needs. Initially they have spend time to understand our existing manufacturing process and identified the areas for improvement and potential opportunities where automation is possible.

Post that they have developed an ERP system and digital applications that were perfectly suited to our specific needs and helped to improve our overall efficiency and operations. Another thing that we found impressive and unique about Cartoon Mango was their excellent customer service and passion to solve problems with technology.

Overall, we were very satisfied with the services and solutions provided by Cartoon Mango. One area for improvement can be related to the timeline of the project. While Cartoon Mango did provide regular progress reports and timelines, we found that the project took longer than initially expected. There were some delays in the project timeline and additional functional requests from our end that contributed to the delay.

Despite the timeline issues, they were able to deliver the updated solutions to us and handle the additional requests with flexibility. We are already in discussion with them for our phase 2 implementation.

We've been pleased with the sales increase we've been getting so far — from this metric alone, we can say that Cartoon Mango did its part in promoting our products through their development work.

I am the chief strategy officer of Global Sports Commerce, or GSC, which is a sports technology conglomerate. Our headquarters is based in Singapore, and we currently have around 400 employees, and global offices in 15 countries. We provide sponsorship solutions and services for rights holders in the sports industry, including federations, sports leagues, teams, and even athletes. We provide technology services which clients use throughout events, and we also have sponsorship sales, as well as consulting companies.

We wanted to build a state of the art and unique corporate website. We have other auxiliary companies that have been in the business for more than a decade, but GSC was formed in 2014 as a parent entity.

We wanted to spread awareness within the market to people who are starting to look online for the information and services we provide. Our goal was to justify all of our services, while building a robust, comprehensive, and futuristic website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cartoon Mango helped us develop the website from scratch. We had certain ideas about how we wanted to convey our information, but it was very much a collaborative process. Cartoon Mango provided the design, and we went through several iterations before we finalized what is currently on the website.

The first section of our website displays information about our global offices and their locations, which is something we wanted to portray upfront due to being a company that provides worldwide services. Cartoon Mango was able to come up with a slightly innovative concept to show this information. We really wanted to demonstrate an interconnectivity between regions as a technology company. Basically, we wanted to showcase how all 12 of the companies under GSC are connected within the GSC universe. Cartoon Mango created unique features to facilitate communication with potential customers, including showcasing what each company’s technologies provides for us.

We are continuing to engage with their team for a couple of other auxiliary companies as well. They’re helping put together websites, as well as helping us build dashboards for some of our other technology companies. We started off with the GSC website, which has since flourished into more projects where we work very closely with their team.

Potential clients, as well as those who have come on board, have commended us for the unique design of our website. We weren’t trying to build a complex design, but rather a representation of what we stand for as a company.

We've had some queries coming in from the website. The nature of our business is usually built through relationships first, and then after meeting people, they visit our website to check out our services.

How did Cartoon Mango perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a great job. We mostly communicate through email, but we also use InVision for sharing project files. The fact that we have continued to work with them and given them more responsibility is a definite sign of their value.

Cartoon Mango takes care of any requested changes in a matter of hours. We’ve been very happy with their service, and they continue to provide maintenance for the website. Overall, the experience has been great.

Their most impressive ability is being able work with us in terms of our thought process, then translating this into the design. Our collaboration was natural because they grasped what we wanted, then quickly put it into action. It has been a seamless partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be nice if they had an office closer to us in Chennai, but apart from that, we have absolutely no complaints. We look forward to working more closely with them on future projects.
