Kulzer is a dental company that’s mainly present in Germany and North America. We sell mainly acrylic teeth, to dental laboratories that use them to build partial or complete dentures. I work for the global IT department based in Germany as an IT business process analyst for e-commerce.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mobikul?

The e-commerce system we currently have was launched in 2016, and we’re updating it from Magento 1 to Magento 2. Mobikul is helping us develop a mobile app for the new site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re using Mobikul’s mobile app for our e-commerce system. Building everything from scratch would’ve required a lot of work because we’d have to build multiple APIs to sync data with Magento, such as the shopping cart and customer data. 

The Mobikul app will deliver everything we need and we’re using a simple Magento 2 system without any customizations. This allows us to simply turn on the Mobikul app and have all the data synchronized.

What is the team composition?

I believe we have two iOS developers and two Android developers, along with the project manager.

How did you come to work with Mobikul?

We were looking for a mobile app that was capable of synchronizing with Magento, and found two very interesting products offering the same functionalities; SimiCart and Mobikul’s eCommerce Mobile App Builder. We decided to work with Mobikul because their app was a bit more polished.

We bought the Mobikul app for around $500, a great deal that also gave us access to their APIs. Apart from that, we’ve spent $40,000–$60,000 on customizations so far.

We’ve been working with Mobikul since January 2020, and our partnership is still ongoing.

I’m very happy with the feedback on the quality of Mobikul’s product and customization efforts. Speaking from a customer perspective, their customization work has been effective so far.

How did Mobikul perform from a project management standpoint?

The thing I’m very impressed by is how organized Mobikul’s team is. They use the UVdesk ticketing system, which has a reminder functionality and if one of their developers has a question, they will literally text me every day for feedback — which is great because we don’t lose time.

Moreover, I’ll create a ticket in their system when I have a customization request, which the project manager will delegate to the developers. In rare cases however, I write an email for overall project planning. 

Lastly, we accomplish our tasks through agile sprints, so we don’t really have any schedules or deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of the things I like about them is how organized they are in keeping track of the ticketing system. We’re also impressed by how cost-efficient and how smooth their app is.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When talking with the developers on the ticket system, their individual names aren’t shown so I have no clue whether I’m talking to the same developer or with three different people. Maybe it’s typical for the outsourcing culture, but it would make things more human if the names are presented clearly.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

First, I would tell them to use the Mobikul app and see how it works for themselves. My advice would then be to make an overall contract to clarify every aspect of the project to mitigate any risks regarding monetary investment.

A project manager was assigned to be our 1st point of contact. The project was divided into 3 phases with payment development, android app and iOS app. Each had a separate developer attached to it but worked as a team so they were on the same page on the changes being done.

The team was very responsive with our questions and requests. We have been testing the solution and are happy with the outcome. The custom payment option works great and our customers love the ease of use. The mobile apps are also performing well.

They have a project tracking tool which I found to be really helpful. The platform is easy to use and tasks can be tracked as needed. They are responsive and communicate information clearly and regularly to keep us informed.

The solutions they offered were everything we needed and more. It was easy to communicate with the teams. Their communication was the most impressive aspect for me as they kept me updated on everything.

Communications with the project manager were very frequent, sometimes daily and on average three times a week. The responses of the project manager have always been very timely. The main tool used to communicate is the vendor's ERP system, combined with LightShot for sharing images and videos. Real-time communications took place via Skype.

Mobikul had great skills in the entire IT sector, from eCommerce systems to mobile app. They provided a wide range of IT solutions for our needs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

When dealing with three different development teams plus the sales team, it would be faster for the customer (us) to use email instead of the vendor's ERP system. However, all communications were timely.

Mobikul has so far delivered all the solutions we’ve requested. Out of our complicated platform, they are able to review and improve without affecting other functionalities that are already working. During the development, they continuously provide update on progress made regularly helping us plan for other related activities as well. They are also flexible on payment of the project as they can receive payments in instalment. Their analysts are cooperative too. Furthermore, their support team is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, actively taking care of our needs. Overall, they feel like a part of our team, and we’re quite satisfied with our partnership.

They have experience and skills and focused. They work hard to ensure the fix issues when they find during development.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I know they are working focus is mostly on e-commerce space, they should be able to provide their product delivery roadmap to their long/loyal customers to see how they can take them on-board for new trade opportunities. This may include inclusion of blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning and the like.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mobikul developed and designed a web app based on an open-source development model. They specifically used PHP to complete the web app. They also created the Android and iOS versions of our app using Java and Swift. The app would allow sellers to scan and price their products. They’d be able to list the services they offer, too. Meanwhile, buyers would be able to purchase products and services. Features such as multi-language support, speech-to-text, direct pay, and more were integrated into the app.

On top of that, they created a single dashboard where we could manage the web app and mobile apps. Their team is now helping us extend our app gallery. They’re also providing ongoing maintenance and support as well as app enhancements as needed.

Their analysts are cooperative too. Furthermore, their support team is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, actively taking care of our needs. Overall, they feel like a part of our team, and we’re quite satisfied with our partnership.

I’m also aware that they have very good marketing services, but because I haven’t worked with them in that area yet, I suggest that they keep up with marketing trends. That way, they can receive a massive amount of investment from potential clients.

We searched for app developers that had developed an out-of-the-box mobile app solution for our e-commerce platform. After looking at the design and integration of the mobile app in addition to the ability to customize features or development new ones we decided to hire Mobikul.

We went with the out-of-the-box mobile IOS and Android app solution from Mobikul for Magento. At that point we then wanted to add some additional features in the way the app functioned, push notification, payment methods available, and even content availability. All of these were steps in the total deliverables. The initial build was delivered with the initial customizations and additional features on both platforms, and then over time different additional features and customizations were delivered.

In the initial release of our iOS and Android mobile apps we have seen two thousand downloads and are now averaging about 400 downloads a week.

All communication is done through a ticket system. I appreciate the regular almost daily updates of what is being worked on, and communicating changes or updates is easy through this system. Mobikul's response timeframe is quick, and the developers accomplish tasks in a very reasonable timeframe. They also respond to questions, concerns, and any bugs very quickly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Mobile development can be very costly particularly for capable developers. I have found Mobikul to have a professional mobile app available out-of-the-box that works well at a very reasonable price. Additional features and custom work is done within reasonable timelines and price. These guys are extremely capable developers able to handle complex features and capabilities. I would hire them over many other companies I have had experience with. I am constantly impressed with communication and capability with them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing I would suggest is more bandwidth of developers so work could be completed faster. Other than that I can honestly say I can not think of a way to improve the experience of doing business with Mobikul.

Webkul and Mobikul have worked hand-in-hand with us to customize our web and mobile app to our customers’ needs. For example, we had a particular payment method that wasn’t popular. Webkul developed a special payment method for our website and a feature for wallets.

I usually send them a request describing all the features we needed within a specific scope. They reply, and we go back and forth. If needed, we do a Skype call to explain everything to them with videos, and they ask me questions to clarify any confusion.

There have been times when I’ve been confused about the feature I wanted to develop. They’ve helped me understand the ins and outs of the features, how they work, their intricacies, and how they connect.

We work mainly with PHP, Java, and Swift. They help with web and mobile app development. Our new project is a Flutter app.

When dealing with different parties and developers, the problem is reliability and accountability. If you need to develop a feature, it’ll touch on the website’s other functionalities. Having a reliable company to work with is important, and we can rely on Webkul and Mobikul. If there’s anything urgent, they can solve it. As a startup, we don’t have the in-house capacity to have ten developers. Having companies like Webkul and Mobikul is a good solution for us.

How did Webkul perform from a project management standpoint?

I have complete visibility of what’s being done and assigned to each person. They use an ERP system. It’s excellent, and I can see what’s going on and the problems they’re facing. I can also interfere, comment, and do particular tasks for them. If there’s anything wrong, we can course-correct it right away.

They also have a ticketing system. They meet deadlines and budgets. If I suggest a solution to them, they come back with a budget. If it’s above my willingness to spend, they make a few changes to save us money. They make me rethink my project to accomplish the goals at a lesser price, and I really appreciate their suggestions.

To communicate, we have Skype calls whenever we need them.

It would be good if they could adapt to the tools that the customer suggests. For example, we could collaborate on Figma instead of what they use for design. Additionally, communication always has room for improvement.
