I’m the founder and CEO of a firm based in Silicon Valley. We work on AI-based fully automated recruitment solutions for white-collar workers, mainly in the technology, DevOps, and data science sectors.

When looking to hire someone, companies have to find the best way to do it. First, they need to figure out where to find a pool of candidates from which you can choose. After they've chosen the pool, it’s challenging figuring out how to identify which people are looking for a new job and which are ready to turn over. Once that problem is solved, they have to figure out a good way to engage with the candidates, nurture them, and interview them either in-person or over a video interview.

The biggest problem with recruitment is that it needs solutions to a lot of issues, and each one falls into a different recruitment process’ stage. Each stage needs a technology-based solution, and we're looking to provide them.

We needed someone to develop our web app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

aTeam Soft Solutions built the web app for us. They were with us through the whole process, and their main involvement was around the development and a bit of product management.

What is the team composition?

We were working with 4–5 people from aTeam. We engaged with their designer and development team, which included a QA lead, a team lead, and several full-stack developers.

How did you come to work with aTeam Soft Solutions?

I don’t remember how we found them. However, I believe it was through Upwork.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent around $40,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with aTeam from February 2020–April 2021. Some features are still being developed, but the product is by and large ready.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The web app has come out well, and it is getting a lot of customer retention. Our conversion rate is close to 4%–5%, which is extraordinarily high for a SaaS company. It is a sign of good development, but it also has as much to do with product management. We went through a pretty detailed phase of product marketing, and it has come out well.

We have internal metrics based on the standard Agile methodology, and that's how we evaluated aTeam. It was a pretty detailed framework upon which we measured the quality of their work, their timeliness, and the quality of the product based on whether any bugs were identified after production or not. aTeam was pretty good, and we were happy with their work.

How did aTeam Soft Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

aTeam’s project management was done pretty well. We used to have three meetings per sprint, but their developers were in touch with us on a regular basis. We used to communicate once a day, and we used Jira for project management.

aTeam was essentially a development team. Product management was not something that they advertised as their strength. However, there was a purely technical part of their product management, which was following the process from paper sketches to design. They helped us with a really important part of product management, which was finding a solution to our technical problem — that was where I saw the aTeam’s strong role. 

Their main work was engineering, but they leaned into product management as well. They were good technical product managers as much as they were very good developers.

What did you find most impressive about them?

aTeam’s responsiveness was pretty amazing. They were very prompt and up to the mark on code quality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be good if aTeam could develop some expertise in automated testing. I think they’re in the process of developing a skill set in that area, and they’re looking at that quite seriously.

A new paradigm of high-volume apps is moving to automated testing to make sure products don’t break when the volume of their traffic increases. Even by Silicon Valley standards, there are very few apps that use automated testing in the way it should be used.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

aTeam is a good firm to work with. I have a pretty long experience of working with outside developers, and I have more than 12 years of entrepreneurial experience. They definitely stand tall, and I count them as one of the best software solution firms.

I went through numerous channels and interviewed over 5 different Software Development firms to discuss technology, timeline, and cost. After getting to know aTeam and spending months on the Scope, I was comfortable moving forward and trusted them with this large project.

They designed and developed a Laravel based Customer Relationship Manager that can be accessed via Web or Mobile App. We needed a place to not only manage our Customers and Lenders but also the entire sales pipeline process. Product features include: User Management System Pipeline Management Call Management System Employee Management and Time Tracking Location Based Property Management Live Chat Secure Document and Data Management Task and Notification Manager Email Client Integration We needed this done within a 6 month time period as our previous CRM license was expiring.

There were 8 people on the core team including the Project Manager, UX/UI Designer, Developer, and the CEO, who was very hands on and managed the implementation process.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Although our CRM has just launched, we've already began to notice a 25% decrease in the time it takes to close a deal. Our productivity has also seen a large increase as we can now manage our entire process through one system instead of logging into numerous sites and platforms.

Project management was very thorough and we were consistently provided updates throughout the entire project. The team used Email, Asana, and Skype to keep us in the loop. We also we're given an updated live demo at least once a week throughout the process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We had direct access to the CEO, President, and Project Manager at all time. They were all 3 heavily involved in the process, which I believe led to a great product. They also spent numerous sessions with us to make sure we nailed down the correct scope so that we had no delays once development began.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can't think of anything at the top of my mind as of now. The team did a great job from our initial call all the way up to product release. We are so pleased with the project that we've already began to develop a new Platform with the team.

We have been very pleased so far with the work done by ateamindia. They are proactive, which minimizes lost cycles due to timeshift between the US and India, responsive to needs, and flexible when it comes to refactoring and architecture.

They principally use Asana and Skype to communicate tasks and timelines in an agile workflow broken into sprints.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I have found their communication and ability to work without tight oversight to be the biggest differentiator for us. There were times wherein our oversight fell by the wayside because of other workstreams and priorities. We would return later to find the work completed, most often without misunderstandings.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At first, the organization of information in Asana was not optimal for us. But they modified it upon request and have been responsive and flexible with this as well.

jumpon.online is an Australian owned Online Travel Agent. Unlike typical OTA's, the Jumpon search methodology is unique to no others. Our search for accommodation not only uses a destination to consider, but any attractions or events or places of interest to the user.

Our challenge was to build a robust platform across all devices and Browsers and to supply real time availability to the user.

What were your goals for this project?

We were building a unique platform in travel and tourism industry specifically to serve Australian region. It allows the travellers and tourists to know better about the events, attractions and other popular things across the country. This will make easy for the travellers and consumers to make right decisions based on the data analysis provided by the platform. Moreover the property owners were given option to expose their properties to a wide specific audience which caters to bring more revenue and mileage to them.

aTeam India have provided this ability to showcase or platform across all devices.

The main objective given to ATeamIndia was to analyse the current system running in AWS Infrastructure and apply the new changes that were planned to integrate in the application. They were also assigned to rectify the existing issues with responsiveness and performance. They also worked in setting up the staging and production environments within the AWS infrastructure as the current application was a bit complex from architecture stand point.

The SEO related changes were essential for the project and hence the SEO plan with better indexing was also a defined task.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As expected the changes and migrations were done from ATeam. They also made a report of SEO which comprises of collective reports from GTMetrix, Light House, Woo-rank etc and made the changes so the application raised it ranking to better position. They also generated the Sitemap XMLs and submitted to Search engines and which will definitely help for ranking the pages to better positions.The URL restructuring is also planned by them and which will definitely help in boosting the rank in search results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I am extremely happy working with them as they have good communication channel using Slack and readily reply to all our concerns and questions. They also collaborate well with the in house team and plan together for changes like UI refreshing etc. I would say they brought more productivity to team than earlier inhouse team and also brought down the cost aswell. Hence we recommend them for any complex and long term projects.

We initially partnered with a local company years ago to build our first warehouse management system, which was a smaller project. aTeamIndia developed the next version of our warehouse management system.

At the beginning of the project, their team invested time creating user stories to identify different users. Their team then began to design the whole system. I created wireframes of features that I wanted to include in the mobile app and web backend. aTeamIndia then designed the UI and managed the development process.

We work with a mobile developer and a web developer. Another team member works on the APIs and another one manages the testing. There’s also a part-time project manager on their team.

We have Skype calls during which we discuss their plans for the day and what their team accomplished the previous day. I also address any of their questions.

For daily communications, we use Skype. Their team also uses Asana to manage their tasks. I’m able to see who’s working on which tasks using the platform.  They work in sprints, and we create three-week sprint cycles.

The main difficulty is working in English because French is my primary language. It would be helpful if aTeamIndia had someone on their team who spoke French.
