2. The whole project will be divided into different milestones. Each milestone will have a release date after Quality Analysis. After QA, once the milestone is released, a demonstration will be done.
3. We are able to access the application and test it yourself to see the milestone is working as expected.
4. The code and intellectual property will be in our own accounts.
5. Once we verify and feel ourself the milestone is working as expected, we sign it off.
6. They invoice against the milestone and we pay for the same. The invoice will be raised only after the milestone is approved by us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were really very very quick to understand the requirements and deliver the solutions. The communication is swift. They keep us updated on completed and upcoming tasks almost daily and remind us of their needs. We’ve asked for things that weren’t included in the original project, and they’ve been willing to do them without ever complaining.

It's been a great ongoing business partnership with them. ATEAM fits in as our outsourcing partner.

We had deadlines per feature and expected these to work when the deadline approached.

The team was quick to respond every time something was needed. We had regular Zoom meetings that were recorded. Unfortunately, despite of the recording, I couldn't see that the team reached a decent level of understanding of what was discussed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They worked on our project for so long without admitting that they didn't understand the requirements.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The code quality is very bad. Within 5 months, the programmers and especially the project manager did not understand how the software was supposed ot be used. It would have been great if they asked more about things they didn't understand and only take projects that they know they can fulfill. Also, they charge for QA but leave bugs in the software that are impossible to miss. I would have appreciated not to be charged for services they do not provide.

I hired aTeam Soft Solutions to build a website based on a few diagrams and some ideas that I had. The goal was to create an easy-to-use social website for voters to ask questions and election candidates to answer those questions.

I posted the job on Upwork, and after receiving dozens of offers and communicating with several teams, it became clear that aTeam was the most professional of all the options and had done the most impressive and similar work in the past.

We had several meetings in the beginning to nail down the vision and design of the site so that they could create UI mockups for me to approve. Then development began. The team decided on Vue JS and Laravel as the main technologies to be used. The plan was in the form of 3 individual month-long sprints with me checking in and reviewing after the completion of each sprint. The team was very transparent about their work and went out of their way to message a list of tasks each person was working on every day to keep me in the loop. I also had access to the code repository itself and they sent a link to their development site so I could play around and test parts of the site even as it was being built.

We had four aTeam employees working on the project. There was 1 project manager, 2 developers, and one employee working on quality assurance.

The site is newly completed and hasn't been fully launched yet, but early feedback indicates that the team did a great job developing the site from beginning to end and left zero parts of the site unfinished.

The team held a stand-up meeting every morning to make sure they were all on the same page. I would then receive a message from each team member specifying their tasks for the day. I also received emails that would summarize the work completed for the whole day each day and at the end of the week a summary of the week's work. The team left no doubt that they were working hard at all times.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There are two things I find most impressive. The first one is their ability to take an idea and a few conversations and instantly have a crystal-clear image of what you are thinking in terms of the vision for the project. I came to them with a few poor wire-frame designs and they ran with it and created something great. The second most impressive thing is their communication and transparency. Every step of development was clearly documented and communicated to me so I had no doubts about their work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Development took a little longer than expected, but that is mostly because the requirements changed along the way. They stuck to their initial estimate and plugged away until the work was done.

I needed someone who could handle database design, web front end and back end as well as provide advice along the way for best UI/UX. I went and received quotes from 4 separate companies and the initial consultation and the price was the reason we chose to choose Ateam

I had already had initial designs drawn up(very rough) and I needed them to translate that into a viable product. The first step was to explain the product and all of the different components. This was conducted all online video conferencing. In the initial stages, we would meet a few times a week to establish the product expectations. Once it was at a development point the meeting would drop off to about once a week. When major releases were ready for testing I would be asked to review and provide feedback.

I worked with many different people from many other parts of the company. I primarily worked with the project manager who was my day to day contact. Then had additional people from his team join the conversations when relevant. I spoke with AWS specialists to build the cloud platform, A UI front end designer, a Database designer, elastic Beanstalk expert then a whole new team was brought in to configure the API integration

We have not launched yet, the launch will begin in the next few months. The product has been delivered successfully and I will maintain a working relationship with them for further updates after release.

There is a full-time product manager and a team dedicated to delivering the projects. One of the best benefits for me was that they work in the afternoon and into the night(time difference). So I could work full time and then work with aTeam after work.

We love their quality of work and ability to interpret my terrible drawings! I was so impressed when I got my first working version.

There were a few minor spelling errors that were easily fixed.

The results are pulled on a weekly basis to the staging web environment so I can see what and how everything has been done. Everything has worked out perfectly.

Communication and organization are probably some of their biggest assets. Everything is laid out on Asana, divided into different milestones and tasks lists where I can drag and drop, connect directly with developers, etc. 

Also, we have a Skype group where we are in constant communication and where each developer and QA puts in 3 times a day the current status of their work with the specific tasks they are working on with the approximate % of completion. 

Finally at the end of the day project manager and I get an email with a daily summary sheet from each developer and QA with tasks completed.

I’m the company director of an affiliate marketing organization. We have a sports betting website, a local physio-therapy finding service, and more. There are about 20 websites in our portfolio.

What challenge were you trying to address with aTeam Soft Solutions? 

Our sites’ UXs were set, but the issue we were facing was dealing with Google updates. The technical aspects of our websites were lacking in terms of Google’s new expectations around site speed, mobile optimization, and a whole bunch of other factors now used to determine rankings. 

Most of our visitors — from around 60%–95% — find us on mobile, and we were very lacking in this area regarding speed. Some of our sites were as low as 20–25 for page speed. Our desired metric was to get our site speed up into the 90–95 range for both mobile and desktop.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

aTeam provided a core backend technical upgrade specifically focused on improving search engine result rankings. They’ve also improved other core vitals including the size of our fonts, image rendering, and more.   

They’ve also supported other activities including API web services for integrating feeds from different websites. One of our websites captures different odds for sporting events, and aTeam is helping us integrate that information from multiple sites. They’ve also done some Salesforce API development work. 

We provide them with additional tasks from time to time, including updating our WordPress plugins. 

What is the team composition?

We’re working with a team of seven people, and there are two core resources within that group: a part-time project manager and a developer. The developer works on the core tasks, and a second developer handles the web services. There are also two test engineers. 

I’ve also had occasional interactions on calls with aTeam’s director. 

How did you come to work with aTeam Soft Solutions? 

I’m not quite sure how we got ahold of them. Another colleague was responsible for that connection. Before we engaged them, however, we put them through a hard assessment as we’ve had difficult experiences with previous vendors. A developer friend of ours provided a couple of tests to determine aTeam’s technical capabilities, and they performed well. 

How much have you invested with them?

The initial cost was around $10,000, and the total cost for the year will probably be around $30,000–$40,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since February 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One of our sites has hit 100 in page speed, and all the others have reached between 92–95. These are perfect results.

How did aTeam Soft Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Initially, it wasn’t so good. We’re in Malta and they’re in India, which is a six-hour time difference. They were using Jira, which is a pretty good task management tool but it can get in the way sometimes. To their credit, they’ve become a bit more flexible and we’ve stuck to a large Skype group. Work is getting done quicker as they’ve adapted to our way of working while continuing to hit deadlines. If they’re running behind, they let us know. 

We have twice-daily updates, one at the start of the day and one at midday. The first update lets us know what they’re up to and whether they’ve encountered any roadblocks, and the second tells us how the work has progressed. 

If there are problems, there’s always someone to jump on them. Urgent issues are addressed the same day. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

In terms of quality versus cost, their cost is very competitive given their technical abilities. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. Anything that seems to be an issue is resolved quickly. The communication front was more our issue than aTeam’s, and they’ve adjusted well. Nothing stands out as being a big problem.

Have the project scope mapped out very specifically so that there’s a clear understanding of what you want to get out of the relationship.

We were looking to partner with developers to help us do projects for our clients, so we brought in aTeam.

What was the scope of their involvement?

aTeam is developing an interactive web application for us. They provide full-stack development, helping build the functionality of the map and database and handling a lot of the database changes. aTeam is also building an area for previewing documents, an ecommerce component, and an integration that allows users to pay for memberships and document downloads, among others.

They use two main programming languages, one of which is React.

What is the team composition?

We have two main points of contact, a salesperson and a project manager, who coordinate different aspects of the project. There are also 2–3 developers working under their management.

We found aTeam on Upwork. We had narrowed our selection down to two companies, but this team was our favorite. Initially they were unable to provide resources to handle all the aspects of the project, but we hired them once they could.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had a list of items we needed to work on, and we considered it a success once those were done. The feedback on aTeam’s output has been positive. They’re professional. Thus far, despite a few hiccups, there hasn’t been any part of the project that they haven’t been able to complete successfully.

How did aTeam Soft Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

aTeam is above average and really shines in terms of project management. They have great communication and make us feel like part of their team.

They’ve added us into their chat program and have given us full access to their daily progress, through which we get feedback regarding issues that arise. This allows us to give direction concerning those issues. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re professional, efficient, and attentive to our goals. aTeam knows how to get things done. The experience I’ve had with them is much better than the one I’ve had with developers in the past.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The cost is significantly higher than we expected to pay, but it may just be what’s needed for this type of project. I’m not familiar with the average cost.

The team has delivered exactly as the commissioned work required. We are very pleased with the outcome. The website is much more efficient and user-friendly for our visitors. The feedback has been very positive.
