I am the executive director of Together California. We build foster homes so that brothers and sisters can remain together as a stable family while in foster care and under the care and support of full-time foster parents. Those foster homes belong to a community of other homes in a village model to help children heal and then exit the foster care system.

What challenge were you trying to address with ArtVersion?

We asked ArtVersion to develop a website to get our message out, inform people, and engage with them.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ArtVersion has developed a website for my organization. We had already modeled our website based on other websites, taking inspiration from what was being done in Illinois, which was part of a strategic alliance. Thus, we requested them to take some of the best elements that already existed but also incorporate a new message.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with three leadership teammates from ArtVersion on a regular basis, and there are another 3–4 technicians behind the scenes working on the project.

How did you come to work with ArtVersion?

I had worked with them in another organization. Originally, I worked with them around 12–13 years ago. For that project, we vetted multiple companies and ultimately chose ArtVersion. I was impressed with their creativity and their ability to meet deadlines, produce good products, and engage respectfully with their clients, so I engaged again with them for this project.

 I've spent around $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around December 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We recently had a groundbreaking ceremony for our new website launch, and we've noticed that our traffic has increased. We've also seen an increase in people requesting to volunteer and support our mission through donations.

How did ArtVersion perform from a project management standpoint?

ArtVersion has delivered on time and on budget. Although I would like to pay less for their service, I've received value for the money because what I pay matches their skills. As for communication tools, everything has been done through Zoom.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Erin (Executive Director) has led the team in a very creative way. She has met the deadlines, adjusted to changes, and provided very good insights into what we were doing and how. Moreover, Megan (Lead Graphic Designer) is very supportive and intelligent about getting our feedback.

What did you find most impressive about them?

ArtVersion has taken the time to understand our mission and why we want to do what we want them to do. Moreover, the team has been very skillful, knowledgeable, and efficient. Whatever we ask them to do, they get it done. Additionally, even though we've mainly communicated through Zoom, ArtVersion has brought a sense of humanness and connectedness to the table, which is really distinguishable because, nowadays, most businesses miss that part.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's always room for improvement. Our organization is very small, and ArtVersion has been very respectful and patient with us. However, it would be great if they led the project more directly, telling us which things would work and which wouldn't. There's always a balance needed between respecting what the client wants and proactively giving advice based on experience.

We needed help with our website's rebranding. Our goal was to enhance our company's reputation in the minds of building owners as a design centric firm. The second goal was to boost our reputation among potential employees.

ArtVersion redesigned and developed our company's website using WordPress. The way projects were presented on the site was very important to us, and ArtVersion created initial drafts and templates and asked for our feedback. The team implemented full-screen videos on our homepage that highlighted our projects. ArtVersion also developed some of the site's written content since the firm was going through a rebranding effort while building the site. 

ArtVersion had many conversations with our design and marketing directors. The team carried some elements of our previous website to the new one, including our prolific blog. ArtVersion migrated our old blog posts to the new site and enhanced the design. The team also migrated our intranet, where we posted relevant company information every day.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We saw a noticeable rise in our website use. We also received more contact forms from prospective clients since the completion of the new site. We receive resumes every day through our careers page. We're a small firm with 75 employees, and ArtVersion delivered a website that was on par with our bigger competitors' sites. 

How did ArtVersion perform from a project management standpoint?

ArtVersion delivered work on time and stayed on budget. We communicated via phone calls, email, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.

They were very understanding and helpful. Sometimes with design projects, the client's version isn't always what comes out. I am the Communications & Marketing Specialist for a nonprofit organization, which specializes in research and awareness about extremism across the ideological spectrum.

For what projects/services did your company hire ArtVersion?

ArtVersion was hired to design and create a PDF for our extremist crowdfunding report, which detailed how extremists raise millions of dollars using online crowdfunding services.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Although we have an in-house design team, at the time we were planning to design this report, they were very busy with other projects, so we decided to look for outside vendors. ArtVersion came to us on a recommendation from our colleagues in another department who had worked with them in the past.

ArtVersion essentially conceptualized, designed and created the visual identity for this report from start to finish. They sent us multiple different design concepts based on our current brand standards, and we went through multiple rounds of back and forth with feedback and changes over the course of several weeks while the report was finalized.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I believe we worked with four people: one was the art director, one was an experience coordinator and two were graphic designers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The report received multiple media hits and within the agency was considered one of the best looking PDFs we've released in a while.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. The ArtVersion team was very responsive to edits and implemented them effectively and immediately. They were also available after work hours the night before release for small changes.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

My team really liked the fact that ArtVersion was able to take our existing brand standards and design them in new, exciting and very colorful ways. It was a nice change of pace from ADL's normal design philosophy.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

My only suggestion would be to have some team members operate on East Coast time, if that's not practice already. Planning around the time difference was slightly difficult, but not overly so, and we managed to make it work.

I am the Director of Marketing at Evention, a cloud-based SAS company that creates accounting automation software. I hired and brought in ArtVersion to help with our overall Brand refresh.

Our word press site had been created over 15 years ago with multiple updates that did not follow a cohesive form. ArtVersion was hired to not only create a dynamic website with mobile optimization but to update our company logo, create complete iconography for us, and to help give us a total Brand refresh.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The work. Artversion has a stable of good clients and they have created great work for them. I reviewed and got submittals from 8 firms. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive, they were not the largest or the smallest, but they stood out with the design flow that I saw in their work. My largest criteria for selection was functionality and usability. I had to feel that the final product would be not only modern and have a great look, but that it would work the way we need it to and be saleable for future updates.

I was very impressed with the organization of the project. I kept adding to the needs and requirements and it was all absorbed without pain. After our awarding of the project and our initial briefing, they went to work on not creating an answer, but in creating the personality of our company and who we wanted to become. We gave them both our current and aspirational view of ourselves, and they created a vision that incorporated both views. After a couple of rounds of look and feels, we got to our winning design.

From there, they update logos for our solutions, modified our corporate logo, and helped us achieve the personality we were looking to portray. Being a full service partner, they even created the content for the site and helped us envision what was possible. An initial timeline was created and built and even with "client inputs", we met our deadline for launch. Quite impressive.

We were very fortunate to have all top level involvement. From the principal of the firm, to the executive designer to multiple designers and programmers. They even supplier a content developer and project manager. In all the team touching our product was massive...over a dozen people. But through it all, we had a constant primary contact, the executive design lead who was with us each step. And the involvement and leadership of Goran P., principal, was paramount.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Aside from winning awards for the design and usability of the site, which we are very proud of, we also used this as the lynch pin in our corporate Brand refresh. This involved our new style guide, which ArtVersion created, the new solution logos and the new positioning for the company. It is much easier to enact a new positioning if you can visualize it to the company.

The site that ArtVersion designed for us was a perfect mirror of what we strived to become. This all resulted in a re-invigorated company that saw us as not what we were, but what we have become. And although I cannot directly attribute sales to this, since the launch and refresh, we have been increasing the close rate on multiple larger deals.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The Evention team and the ArtVersion team worked very well together because of constant communication. They were available for frequent, usually quick turn-around meetings and updates. We were fortunate to have constant access to both our project manager and the Executive Design lead for this project. Being a former agency owner myself, I was impressed with their responsiveness and ability to pivot when required.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We came to ArtVersion with a vision and some ideas on where we wanted to go. They processed that and made it come to life without many hitches along the way. Their technological knowledge and leadership was truly required and appreciated. My mantra was that we wanted best practices, not necessarily cutting edge. They delivered a product that was a perfect blend. When a company takes the time to listen to a client, not only the words, but the intent of the words, that is a partner you want and want to stay with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

All projects of this magnitude have bumps in the road. The definer is how everyone handles the pivots. We had open discussions on many design details and they involved shared opinions. That is great....I love that. Overall, the flow was wonderful. The only thing I would have changed is that they held me more accountable for meeting my deadlines. It would have made the final weeks a bit easier. So...a little less nice ArtVersion!

I'm the owner of a preventive health company that provides travel health counseling, travel vaccinations and vaccine services to individual & corporate travel as well as large corporate on-site vaccine events.

For what projects/services did your company hire ArtVersion, and what were your goals?

We needed help in developing a preventive health website and creation of a digital infographic to assist with patient counseling. We hired ArtVersion to complete both of these projects with the goal of creating a descriptive, professional website that would attract new clients and to create an attractive digital interface that would enhance the health services we were offering our clients, specifically in the area of patient education.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for a local vendor that provided a personalized service to a firm our size and who had similar experience providing the type of solutions we were looking for. We were particularly interested in finding a firm that valued customer service to include face to face meetings and a genuine collaborative relationship. We read reviews of Artversion and it seemed that other clients felt that Artversion provided such personalized service.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had several kick-off meetings to discuss the project. Ideas around the website were quickly and easily discovered and the Artversion team go to work on that quickly and, after several iterations, we were happy of the product and posted this site within 6 months. The digital infographic required more work for the IT team to appreciate the needs we had at the "bed side". The Artversion team spent a lot of time with us to understand the exact UI we were looking for and to ensure the finished product would be usable and functional in our environment.

After this was agreed upon, their team got to work and we had multiple follow-up meetings to help guide this process. The entire ArtVersion organization was a pleasure to work with and were responsive and capable.

We worked with the owner, the local lead producer, a project manager and, at times, the actual coders or people doing the digital work. Artversion was happy to include any team member they felt necessary to ensure our project was completed to our satisfaction.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We developed a very attractive website that helped guide us through the Pandemic years. We received very positive feedback about this site. The digital infographic was immediately well received by our local healthcare staff. This product was presented to our national parent and is now being rolled out to over 300 clinics nationwide ... so it was a resounding success. Most importantly, the product has enhanced patient education and our ability to prepare travelers for safe, international travel.

The Artversion team was available and responsive to us in between regularly scheduled appointments. The team created an initial timeline for the project and stuck to it. We primarily met them in person, as one of their offices is close to our office.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were most impressed by the people we worked with, their genuine interest and passion in our project and their "can do" attitude in getting it done. To be honest, I did not expect that attitude from an IT company, I was expecting something more "stand offish" - but that was not our experience. The team's executive and project management staff were outstanding, and I would not hesitate to work with them again.

Not that I can think of.

I am the Director of Technology at a company that is a leading provider of safety benefits management solutions for the workplace. We uniquely solve companies’ PPE benefits management challenges by consolidating procurement and delivery of safety equipment (PPE) for employees under one unified platform.

We have a platform that has been very successful for our clients, but we wanted to take it to the next level. We offer a very unique service that is in high demand, and we were looking for a firm that could deliver on an updated design while also providing insight and solutions that were unique to our product.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After meeting with this team and seeing examples of their past projects, we decided on ArtVersion due to their skills, costs, responsiveness, and enthusiasm.

Once we decided to work with ArtVersion, we met with them on a weekly basis for the first half of the project. The first goal was to come up with a redesigned UI/UX layout and wireframe.

We spent a great deal of time with their team so that they could fully understand the needs of our clients. Then ArtVersion provided us with artwork, user flows, branding, and solutions to areas on our site that we have struggled with.

The remainder of the project was focused on providing us a responsive website built upon an Angular framework.

The Executive Director of Design was our main point of contact, but each meeting was also supported by their Art Director and UX Designer. On many occasions, their Creative Director also provided support. Toward the end of the project, we also engaged with a Full Stack Developer and a Brand Strategist. Behind the scenes there were additional designers and web developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It is too early to report on some aspects of these changes, but one thing that has come to fruition is the realization of a unique concept that we had envisioned many years ago that we now can provide for our clients.

We had weekly meetings via Zoom, but the team was very responsive via email and accommodating when additional face to face time was needed. Meetings were structured and timely, but also flexible enough to address new ideas that came up.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

While they delivered us a great product and their skills are great, I feel what makes them stand out most is the team's enthusiasm to learn about our company and help us find solutions. Every team member always came to the table prepared and with ideas to share.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For this project everything went as planned. There was one misunderstanding regarding a design that we thought was in scope of the plan that wasn't, but they helped us understand and work towards a solution for it.
