We Started dealing with Appycodes in July 2023 to take our existing Java based CRM and elevate it to an online system where it is purely cloud based and modernise the exisiting technologies we do have in place and take a 20 year old system into the modern day. Our custom functionality and needs have been met so far by Appycodes their availbility and accessability is conveint for us and allows us to devlope new ideas.

All delieverables were met as and when Appycode set any potential delays or problems were/are always discussed and we told ahead of time Any milestones set were met within the correct timeframes and the project itself has progressed and is continuous.

Time is very important to Appycodes if they set up expectations for date x they always delievered by date x unless we have delayed them due to any information they needed. We had set up text channels and also have weekly meetings to discuss progression any issues and if we are happy with the progress.

So our goal here was to source the best and most reliable developers we could find to support us with a wide range of ongoing projects.

I now work on Shopify projects with Appycodes but initially, we worked almost exclusively on Wordpress jobs. We would provide a detailed brief that they would then feedback on. They would then provide us with a technical breakdown of what they thought all the requirements were so we could agree on that before going ahead. We would then have regular reviews as projects progressed and be in constant communication via the normal collaboration tools. 

Designs were mostly provided as collaborative prototypes and Appycodes would always build via a staging site before managing the launch process and providing great ongoing aftercare and support. Appycodes were also able to provide us with really detailed technical breakdowns for some more complex projects. The detail and clarity of what was provided was exceptional and, again, hugely valuable to us and our clients.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

All projects have been delivered above and beyond - efficiently and effectively so the benefits of that kind of service are difficult to apply a figure to but very easy to appreciate as hugely beneficial. Each project was met with very positive client feedback and no reports of any ongoing concerns so that’s another positive measurable. 

I was never involved on the analytics side so I can’t provide much in the way of figures, but I do have one measurable outcome for the last Shopify project that Appycodes worked on. Other factors are at play here but much of it can be attributed to the new and vastly improved website produced by AppyCodes:

• 122% increase in total website sales 
• 51% increase in total website sessions

This included protyping, creation of AWS instance and management tools, creaiton of the backend CMS and development of the front end UI. They advised on UX and UI considerations, and build out the specific functionality in line with the requirements.

There were 4 people in the core team - the Project Manager, the Lead Developer, and 2 developers.

I first discovered Appycodes online and started small with a few Android bug fixes before Appycodes became my main developer for the Android version of our app and web development team. I wanted an affordable option that moved fast and communicated brilliantly.

First Appycodes helped with creation of the Android version of our app. This allowed people to check-in to venues and events and be rewarded for doing so. Next we asked Appycodes to design a rewards website for us that involved e-commerce and the Algorand blockchain. Mainly using Wordpress and Python this site was complex but created brilliantly.

I mainly work with Ritesh and Swati, the owners, as well as other members of their team.

Within 3 months of Appycodes completing the Android version of our app our ratings improved by over 0.8. We also created a growth hack which helped get installs organically.

The project managers are fantastic communicators and work super fast. Our comminication is mainly held on instant messengers as well as email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Developers are notorious for overcharging and taking double the amount of time they promise on a project, however this isn't the case with Appycodes. They worked fast and were very honest about delivery times.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes we're a little bit reactive when it comes to some of the development e.g. not updating plugins or security risks until we notice something is wrong. It would be an even better experience if we're one step ahead and have everything updated/securities in place before there are problems.

However, I scrapped the project due to crash in the NFT markets during July 2022. I then started working on building a mobile app for loyalty programs. The web development for NFT search and app development for loyalty programs were completed by Appycodes.

We were looking for potential vendors and we were connected to Appycodes by a friend. I had a personal meeting with Appycodes founder. I looked at their portfolio and also discussed our project with them. Given that our specifications were not very clear at the beginning, Appycodes helped us develop our specification on the go. They gave us very good advice, reduced the complexity of the project to minimize the development time, and delivered consistently on the project.

The web development project was completed within 2 months. The app development is ongoing, and we expect to launch the app in Jan 2023.

The project manager was very easy to work with, provided good advice respectfully, and the project is being delivered on time. We had created a rough timeline at the start of the project, and they have been consistent with the timeline. The primary communication tool was Slack, and we occasionally had group meeting on Google meet.

I was most impressed by their advice and their alignment with our goals. They will quickly understand the business context, and identify the best solution to deliver the business result by picking the right technology (database structure, storage solution, etc.).

We needed a web development agency to help improve and optimize our existing blogs through redesign and UX, consolidation of non-blog content, and additional functionality to help us manage leads and call to action (CTA) placements across our platforms. We received several proposals for the project from a variety of providers around the world. Although there were more economical options, there were a few compelling reasons why we chose to work with Appycodes.

First of all, their proposal was the most complete from the outset, demonstrating their thorough understanding of our requirements as well as their experience with similar platforms and projects. The project consisted of several parts:

1) Audit, reorganize, and upgrade three WordPress blogs and plug-ins on staging. 

2) Establish and customize a popular block-builder theme based on template designs provided by our in-house design team. 

3) Develop functionality for CTA placements and email capture, as well as connection and testing with different hooks as part of our marketing automation and lead nurturing systems.

4) Establish WordPress-based forums with custom theme development based on designs as well as detailed briefs for custom-coded design elements and UX functionality. 

5) Develop a single-account login across all of our WordPress installations, including account sync, to ensure users could remain logged in wherever they are.

6) Develop a maintenance schedule and regular smoke tests for ongoing updates and security policy enforcement.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Appycodes managed to deliver by the deadline, which was no easy task considering the project’s size, complexity, and tight timeframes. They helped us build a much stronger platform for attracting and converting quality leads. Despite the relatively recent completion, we are already seeing positive KPIs and preparing to embark on new development opportunities with more advanced functionality that will enable us to grow even further. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Appycodes provided a collaboration platform to track all areas of development, small and large. Communication was easy, efficient, and highly professional with regular calls and email updates to report progress, potential challenges, and items that required our feedback or attention. The team was responsive to unexpected issues, reacting quickly as new requirements surfaced along the way.  

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Working with agencies can be tricky when you face tight deadlines, primarily because you are competing for attention with several other clients who may have larger projects in progress. However, we never felt ignored or impeded by lack of responsiveness, which pleasantly surprised us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Appycodes is lacking in no areas. I would like to see them be more open with ideas and feedback to improve our requirements. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience that can greatly benefit marketers like us. This is no fault, as we gained much more value in this regard from Appycodes than any other agency we’ve worked with, but they can speak up more confidently and be even more involved than they already are.
