I’m the owner of Skipton Centre, a small bed and breakfast hotel.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Apbundle Technologies?

We needed web and mobile app development services. We were trying to build a focused site for marketing small independent businesses.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Apbundle Technologies has built a website and an integrated app that goes alongside it. The website allows people to add their business details and a short description of their company to sell through the site. Currently, the app is only available for Android; we market it to other hotels and businesses to get people to download it. As the user uptake grows, we’ll monetize it by charging businesses to sell their services through it.

Initially, we had an idea of what we wanted. We started talking with Apbundle Technologies, and our business needs were somewhat compatible with our requirements. Apbundle Technologies came back with a few designs, and we knocked them around until we had something we were happy with.

The team has developed everything from scratch using JavaScript. They’ve also helped us with marketing on Facebook and Instagram. They’re responsible for all the creative assets, like copying visuals.

They were gearing up to do more marketing and work on the site, but we had to put the breaks on it at the moment.

What is the team composition?

We’re in direct contact with two team members, mainly the owner. Additionally, we have tech experts and designers working on the backend.

How did you come to work with Apbundle Technologies?

I initially found them through an IT recruitment site for a previous company. I worked for the owner on another project a few years ago with a different business.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent close to £7,000 (approximately $8,600 USD) so far.

What is the status of the engagement?

We began the project in September 2018 and are still engaged with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to the marketing on Facebook and Instagram, we’re getting various impressions on Google through organic searches. However, we’re not pushing the marketing due to the current economic climate.

We’ve had minor issues with the development. When it doesn’t work as expected, we go back to Apbundle Technologies, and they quickly make it right.

How did Apbundle Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re pretty pleased with how the project has progressed; we’ve had good input. Sometimes we ask them to do a bit of development on the side, and they come back with different ideas to integrate the app or improve the site’s functionality.

We mainly communicate via email and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They give excellent input. When we come up with an idea, Apbundle Technologies tries to develop it further from a creative and practical design perspective.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing they could do better.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be specific about your design needs, but also be prepared to bend a bit if they give input.
