Acquaint Softtech served as an offshoring partner of our core team of engineers. They are an Official Laravel Partner, which is why they used the advantages of the framework to create the logic of our backend anew.

The Key Deliverables were:

• Asynchronous Queue System: They introduced the step of processing our orders as a Laravel-based queue system instead of a wait-to-complete model. This enabled the system to receive the order of the customer in real time and the heavy lifting done in the background.
• Redis Integration: They introduced a high-performance Redis caching layer that held product metadata and inventory particularly so that the main database was not being accessed by thousands of simultaneous users.
• Query Optimization / Database Refactoring: They have profiled all our current SQL queries and re-written them to be faster, especially our complex filtering system (size, brand and discount depth).
• Atomic Locking Mechanisms: To address our duplicate order issue, they came up with a bespoke solution based on atomic locks to give a user the impression of being able to three times during a lag spike and only one transaction would be ever made.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The physical outcome was the most evident, and this was the stability of the site at the time of high traffic. In the past, whenever a big brand was unveiled the checkout process would slow down or stop intermittently. Following the implementation, the spinning wheel during check out disappeared.

When we were on promotion periods, the number of orders that were processed successfully per minute increased by very large margins. Moreover, our customer services on the issue of Duplicate Charges or Order Not Found dropped to almost zero. The system now manages the fast selling sales in a composed and stable pace.

Acquaint Softtech used a very strict Agile approach. They were very receptive to our Slack channels and very well adapted within our Jira workflows.

Timelines: They met all the key milestones, especially the most important deadline of our mid-year End of Season event.

Responsiveness: their key feature was the proactive communication. In case they discovered a bug on a legacy feature they were working on they did not simply ignore it, they marked it and suggested a fix and usually had a patch ready before it could affect our sprint.

Their superpower is that they have an in-depth understanding of Laravel. A variety of agencies employ a plug-in or quick-fix, but Acquaint Softtech knows the framework on a nano level. They could make the backend logic to suit our needs and constraints, such as the need to retain our current payment provider, without the typical it-is-not-possible reasons. They are real problem solvers and they know the business cost of technical debt.

Acquaint Softtech undertook the project with a good knowledge of regulatory environment and the actual operational requirements. The spectrum was on the full web development and much focus was put on the backend security and access control.

The main aspects of the solution were:

• Creating a Laravel-driven backend architecture that was able to support fine-grained access control with multiple user roles and organizations.
• Installation of role-based permission systems, that is, users were allowed to access data relevant to their duties.
• Creating safe APIs that have authentication and authorization levels to secure exchanges of data.
• Establishing audit trails on every sensitive operation to enable the administrator to see the past access and modification history whenever required.
• Developing processes that enabled employees and healthcare workers to accomplish their everyday duties effectively, without superfluous bottlenecks in the approval process.
• The frontend integration also required some support in such a way that security features would operate effectively in the background, without having to make the user experience more complicated.

During the development, Acquaint Softtech engaged intimately with our internal stakeholders to confirm assumptions and change flows based on actual usage situations.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Having just launched, we could notice that at once we started feeling quite confident in handling sensitive data. The system automated access checks which would have been done manually. Onboarding of the staff also became more regular, and audits no longer demanded gathering information using various sources.

Of the greatest importance, sensitive data access has been managed without even decelerating the staff, and that was among our greatest concerns when we embarked on the project.

The entire process of project management was clear and well-organized. Acquaint Softtech segmented the project into distinct steps and this has enabled us to test and examine key elements of security early on instead of implementing the tests at the later stage.

They met milestones on time and responded so well whenever we needed to seek amendments particularly on issues to do with usability by non-technical users. Regulatory/operational questions arise, they took time to get the situation and then offered solutions.

The most impressive thing about them was their ability to strike a balance between strict privacy and access regulations and the realities of operations. Numerous vendors are oriented either on security only or on usability only, meanwhile, Acquaint Softtech always kept in mind both.

They were also familiar with laravel and this showed in the manner they cleanly accomplished permissions, APIs and audit logs. The system is strong without being cumbersome or limiting to the end users.

Early UX mockups might have been released a bit earlier and non-technical stakeholders engaged in the process earlier. From a product standpoint, our AI models could now be deployed across multiple tenants with confidence that training data, predictions, and operational insights remained isolated and secure.
