What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped design the mega-menu, determined categories, gave us ideas of how to move the products around, and they're helping us with images and layout. Customers can hover over images and see product details. They helped with a one-step checkout and a monogramming software for us as well. The coding for that portion was complicated, but they made sure they could help us with it.

We have a project manager. He's my main point of contact, and I'm in constant communication with them.

We started working with them in October 2018, and they completed the greater part of the migration within a month. The bulk of the work is done, but we stay connected with them for other design changes as needed.

The new site is much more user-friendly. Their quality of service is also very good. They're fast problem solvers, they're patient, and they explain things in great detail. The new site is functional and reliable.

They were always very responsive. We communicated primarily through email and Skype, and we met in person once.

They run smoothly and are well organized.

There was a bit of a language barrier some of the time. My main point of contact was Russian, but we had an easy time working together.

We loved working with Roman and his team because they made the process incredibly easy and enjoyable. They assigned a go-to point of contact who would come into our office to discuss data and site changes. He would then work with the rest of the time team before presenting the updated version and addressing our comments directly. We also had multiple team meetings and back-and-forth emails.

They built our first website in 2010, and we’ve worked together ever since.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve worked on several projects for us. After they build our initial website, they made our shopping platform and cart. We provide them with visuals for the things we want on the frontend, and they translate our vision into functionality. They accomplish any task we give them. Our site is very customized, with a lot of complicated factors.

The site itself is built in Drupal, the shopping cart is Ubercart, and we just integrated a PayPal payment gateway and other platforms within the site. Everything is custom, and they always rise to the challenge of creating bespoke pieces for us on both the front- and backend.

They manage our Google Ads and recently introduced Wicked Reports, which allows us to track our ROI. They also added Photoslurp into our product pages and collaborated with specialist engineers to make that happen for us.

We’ve worked with a team of about eight different people on our various extensions. Those team members include project managers, designers, developers, and an SEO and marketing team.

We first started our businesses around the same time. Their owner presented some past work, and we took a chance on them. They created our site from scratch, and we’ve worked together ever since. We’ve both grown and expanded together, and we take advantage of all the services they now offer.

We started with nine products, each with its own product page in three languages. Now, we have 250 products, and we collaborate with other brands. Our website is integrated into other platforms, and a lot of activity happens within our CRM.

Absolute is doing so much more than they were in 2010, but they’re always consistent. We give them tasks, and they come back within the same day with projections while they complete other tasks. The imagery and facility of our customer experience match our own luxury brand approach. We never have to overanalyze the conversions they’re responsible for.

We’ve never been disappointed by any of their services. They have an amazing crew of professionals, and they’re always easy to reach. We’ve had emergencies or DNS attacks where the website went down. Whenever we experience a problem, they are always accessible and get back to us with a timeline.

Their project management is incredible, especially compared to the rest of our local market. They always meet time frames, and their communication is always a strong point.

We’ve never had any reason to work with another company. Their professionalism and the scope of their reach is impressive. They always stay on time and under budget.

After an unsuccessful first attempt at starting our business, we brought Absolute Web Services on to build a custom WooCommerce site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In discussing our plans, they were clear about what they could and couldn’t help us with. The website mainly consists of a product generator where we can upload our t-shirts and incorporate them into different apparel styles and colors. Afterward, they focused on customizations, building a UX/UI design from scratch and creating different pages. They also introduced a feature that allowed users to upload their own designs and decide what sizes they wanted.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact was the project manager, Sergiu (Director of Business Development, Absolute Web Services). The communication was goo and it was mainly on email unless it specifically needed to be over the phone.

How did you come to work with Absolute Web Services?

After our first failure, we looked for professional companies that had tackled similar jobs before. T-shirt websites have a lot of requirements given the necessary variations in color and size. I came across Absolute through a Google search found they’d done two similar projects, including a t-shirt website. I contacted them, we started talking, and I hired them.

We’re spent between $20,000–$21,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since February 2018, after they delivered their proposal. The site launched in August 2018, but we’re still doing customizations. We’re also on the verge of launching a marketing effort with them.

They communicated well and showed us multiple previews of the finished site. We made comments on things we didn’t like or thought represented our company in the wrong way. They were quite helpful with all our inquiries.

How did Absolute Web Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of our communication was done via email. They responded quickly to everything, and if something was urgent or required immediate attention, they responded that same day.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our main point of contact was very knowledgeable about the t-shirt business. If we engaged in a conversation about printing and what kinds of variations we needed, it didn’t require immense energy. Our contact already knew how those things needed to look on our website. Their sector-specific knowledge is their strongest aspect.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing specific comes to mind. Building a website is an ongoing process, and there’s always going to be more to do and change. They were responsive, even after completion, and though some things malfunctioned after the site launched, Absolute Web Services fixed them right away.

Before engaging with a company like Absolute, have a deep conversation with their team. And it doesn’t have to happen all at once; we called back and forth until we were completely comfortable working with them.

Our financing partner's development team leader told me that among the dozens of companies accepted into their pilot program, Absolute Web Services provided the most capable work. Because they handled the task so efficiently, we’ve been accepted into a more prestigious program with our financial partner, one which we had not expected to be an option for another year or more.

We used GitHub to manage the project. Most of our communication, however, was done through email. Both were effective and there was never any point during the project where I felt the need to question the resources they had allocated to it. They were ahead of schedule the entire time.
