We have approached them for quality assurance and website development especially. We had other options too with the initially similar looking offers but when we chose A3, it served more than what we have expected especially in terms of quality check.

Although we had a QA team but their QA team helped us in integrating the website with other in-house software and made things easy and quick for us. We as a purchaser of their service would really prefer to continue with them as such the services we're getting from them are suffice and yet they haven't given any reason to switch or opt any other.

I personally found A3logics very sorted from the beginning as they had quite clear process of communication with their clients. They worked with us following the agile methodology and allowed the in-between modifications as well.

We are overall satisfied as far as the result we have received from them. the initial expectations were honestly quite vague but have cleared a lot post engaging with A3logics as they had more experience than our team had.

We used to have frequent communication through skype and official intimations were made through emails. Daily progress update was updated by them through mail and skype both simultaneously so that we never miss any update due to any network or power failure.

We also had a proper update communication over JIRA on a regular basis.

On the occasions in which issues are found, A3 Logics will jump on the task immediately. We typically document the issue, after which I will discuss it with the project manager, making sure that A3 Logics has an understanding of it. They reproduce it and fix it. We use Atlassian JIRA for project tracking. We communicate through Skype and also use Bitbucket.

I find A3 Logics to be very responsive to our requirements. I have had poor experiences with other vendors in the past. They usually began by being very responsive but, once they felt that they had our business, that responsiveness dropped. A3 Logics has maintained their dedication throughout the years.

A3 Logics developed a web-based mobile-responsive solution for us. They have worked on a total of three projects for our company.

The first one was aimed at the medical records arena. The second was an application for certified accounting offices. We're currently working on the third phase of that solution while also developing a banquet management application for events and catering services.

A3 Logics is very good at looking at requirements and adding value to the task by suggesting usability interfaces and features that may not have been considered by us in the beginning.

I don't know what the size our behind-the-scenes team was, but I've only communicated with one person for each project. I assume that A3 Logics employs multiple resources because no person could have the entire skill set of server implementation, app development, testing and quality assurance, architecture, and so on. There are many skills required that I haven't had to take on as part of my staff. A3 Logics allows me to pay for time and resources used.

I was very pleased with how quickly A3 Logics has been able to deliver the work. Software development is a very tricky issue, but they've always jumped on any bugs encountered. I have nothing but praise for A3 Logics.

How did A3 Logics perform from a project management standpoint?

It would be unrealistic to expect that the work would be delivered on time and within budget every time, but I've been satisfied with their delivery, both in terms of quality and scheduling.

We use a tracking system for bugs. Project management is handled exclusively by A3 Logics. We receive reports on what features will be implemented and what approach will be taken for that. We follow an agile system of drafting one-week stories that are completed and reiterated. The process is very quick, which I appreciate.

What distinguishes A3 Logics from other providers?

A3 Logics has a very efficient process. There isn't much overhead, and there aren't unnecessary tasks that would inflate the project. I've had opportunities to work with large companies in which half of the time spent for development consisted of creating documentation and disseminating information. There needs to be a balance in this respect, given that we're a smaller company. Even with ample documentation, my customer base would not see a difference in the product.

Is there anything A3 Logics could have improved or done differently?

I would like to see A3 Logics expand on their technology expertise. They have good .NET and PHP capabilities, but are lacking when it comes to more modern tools like Ruby on Rails or Django. New technologies typically bring new efficiencies, so it's possible that we could end up lagging behind.

I needed a developer for a mobile application that I needed to design and develop. I didn't have the time or skills to handle it myself, so I went in search of a partner.

A3 Logics developed my application. They've been involved in all aspects of the build, from architecture, initial prototype design, wireframing, and so on. There are both Android and iOS versions of my app.

During the early development phase, there was one junior and one senior developer assigned to my project, for Android and iOS respectively. There was also a lead developer on the server platform who communicated with the apps. I was assigned a designer for app interfaces as well as a project manager.

I have developed a feature-rich app, one of the most important aspect of it being the ability to synchronize to telephone numbers automatically. If the user switches from one carrier to another, it will notify selected users and enable them to change the phone associated with that particular contact. It is a powerful feature, which involved a lot of coordination between the app and its database server. Another important feature is the ability to identify different users from pretty much any country in the world. The number scheming for mobile lines is very different to normal conventions. For example, every mobile number in the United States has the number one as the country code, but there are 28 countries sharing this prefix. On the other side, there are countries that have multiple country codes, so there is an enormous amount of complexity involved in identifying the country of a number. We initially started with a simple app concept that would be built on a small budget, but the total cost has amounted to $100,000. As we continue to develop the next version, the cost will increase accordingly.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

We've received many user reviews for our free version, which can be upgraded to the premium one. There has been much traction for it, but I haven't made any press releases or marketing for the app. I plan to do so in the near future.

How did A3 Logics perform from a project management standpoint?

My project manager worked with me in creating schedules for the work and produced reports for the sprints that were completed by A3 Logics on a weekly basis. I was very impressed with the turnaround times for bug fixes and changes to the app. I have been working in IT [information technology]

For this type of collaboration, I will usually deal with the project managers and chief technology officers. In the case of A3 Logics, I maintained a relationship with their chief executive officer [Akhilesh Sharma]. He took a personal interest in the project and made himself available. There have been several instances in which the project required research and development help, but I was able to pick up the phone and get the required resources. Recently, we discovered a bug created by a recent library change in iOS. I talked to their' chief technology officer, and he was able to fix my problem.

With other companies, I never knew where exactly I stood with regard to the resources allocated to me. I knew that the engineers weren't working for me full time, but I had no idea what the priority for my work was. At the end of the day, a bug fix will turn into a three- to five-hour job. I want to make sure that it will be taken care of, especially if my product is available on the market. Dealing with developers on a day-to-day basis was great with A3 Logics. I was given direct access to the team.

Is there anything A3 Logics could have improved or done differently?

Often, the approach requested by the client may not be the best one. I don't want developers who blindly follow my command. They should try to solve the larger problem instead of what is immediately required. I would like for A3 Logics to challenge me more, not just take my word for every issue. We should have more good, healthy discussions. Since I work in IT and run two companies, I tend to get involved in every aspect of the work, from project management to product development. I have a lot of experience and can challenge the team, so they've become intimidated and came to take my word for everything. This created a few problems that we had to fix, but there's been a big improvement recently with A3 Logics. Their engineers have become more comfortable with me, and we often have long back-and-forth discussions, which I love. They don't give up and have enough confidence.

myfinny.com offers a couple of apps for Android and iOS. We also have a back-end website service. The product is targeted at parents of fourth to eighth-grade children. The problem we're trying to solve is device addiction in children. Kids spend anywhere from three to eight hours per day on mobile phones, so we wanted to make that time more productive for them. This could be accomplished by either introducing education into the mix or reducing the time spent on mobile devices. When our Android app is downloaded and set up, it will start monitoring the amount of time spent on the device and on what apps. We then offer personalized quizzes, based on the level of education of the child, offering general assessments. For every right question, the user is rewarded.

What business challenge were you trying to address with A3 Logics?

As a startup, we wanted to be efficient with our dollar spend while also ensuring product quality, so a good development house was needed.

A3 Logics developed our solution using LAMP Stack, which is comprised of Linux, MySQL, Apache, and PHP. We are in the process of moving the development to Node.js. The iOS version was developed as a native application. We're not using native iOS and Android databases, instead relying on MySQL.

A3 Logics works as our permanent development team. We are assigned both a project and product manager as well as developers. On an ongoing basis, our team is comprised of 10 full-time developers. We sometimes need additional resources, so we contract part-time developers.

How did you come to work with A3 Logics?

I evaluated a couple of development houses in India and found A3 Logics through a reference from a friend. Expertise in building scalable Android and iOS apps was critical. We talked to companies that had different strengths, but A3 Logics had a right balance of different technology skill sets. Intellectual property was another important consideration for us. We drafted our contract in order to ensure that we'd retain the technology and someone wouldn't steal our code, coming up with a cloned product. A third consideration was that we were looking for an ongoing engagement.

We've been working together for two years. I am planning on increasing my budget and doubling the team size.

Our apps have been published and are working well. Our product was featured in an article two months ago and our traffic jumped by 2,000 users as a result. We were able to scale up automatically, which is a good testament to the quality of the software.

How did A3 Logics perform from a project management standpoint?

I have a full-time project manager assigned to me, who doesn't work for anyone else. She is a graduate of a top-tier school in India and is a complete professional. She manages all of our tasks, and I don't know what I would do without her. My team is also exclusively dedicated to the project.

We collaborate through JIRA and an internal tracking system, on top of email and spreadsheets. We have a quality assurance stack, dev stack, version stack, and so on.

We follow an agile process and keep ample documentation. We showed our records to a partner who was very impressed with the level of documentation that we keep. Comments are required for the code. This is partly as a result of pushing the team and also because of their natural attention to detail.

The first impressive part about A3 Logics is that they are able to find and keep talented resources. The second thing is that they listen to feedback. There were occasions where I was not happy with the staff assigned to the project. We worked on getting them replaced and A3 Logics made sure that I would receive the right people.

I've tried to encourage having women on my team because that region of India is lagging behind in terms of general female employment. At least 50 percent of my staff is comprised of women. One particular developer was a girl who used to make clothes at home and sell them. She was the first of her family to get an education, and I've been impressed by her wealth of knowledge.

Is there anything A3 Logics could have improved or done differently?

I wanted to hire more senior-level talent, but I couldn't afford this on a startup budget. This is not their fault. I received what I paid for, and I'm very happy with my results. The challenges have been the same as with any other outsourcing company. I've had to be very watchful in order to avoid delays, and I was aggressive in ensuring that our investors would be happy. I make quarterly visits to their offices, sometimes even more often than that. Whenever we have architectural discussions, I will stay there for a week or more, so it's not a hands-off approach.

With the help of A3 Logics, we developed an application for Android and iOS, also creating a web portal through which the app operations can be managed. Our software is location-based and is able to offer services for individual users like driving and medical attention. This is done through the web management software. We've expanded our idea to transportation solutions as well.

The software developed by A3 Logics uses Java and .NET. Java Swift was used for iOS development, and Bootstrap was used for our web applications. Hosting is done through Linux, so licensing fees are very manageable. Our servers run from the cloud, so every aspect about them is configurable. We've introduced a payment method called Payment Text, which is widely used in Columbia. It was implemented with an SDK [software development kit], not through a web application.

I don't know what the size of the team offered by A3 Logics is, but I've seen very good results from them, so I started developing applications for my other company using their services. They've offered great design skills, and they deliver fast.

I've continually worked with the same project manager from A3 Logics. He's been incredibly helpful. Our internal English skills aren't the best. My partner's English is especially bad, but A3 Logics has always found ways of communicating the information that we needed to get, either through words or through diagrams and pictures. From my experience, project managers will tend to be very technical and less focused on customer experience. A3 Logics really take user experience into consideration. They have a lot of experience in making usable applications.

We've managed to solve the problem faced with badly developed maps for Columbia. It was very hard to find an address as a result. There isn't a perfect solution for this, but A3 Logics offered a great answer to my problem.

A3 Logics have always sent us reports and diagrams for their decision-making process. We've received many documents for user case scenarios. I manage multiple companies and didn't have much time to review all the data. As a result, when we received our product, we started to make changes. Most of the wrong decisions were our fault, but A3logics helped us in fixing them.

We didn't use any specialized project management tools. We're not a very technical group, so we relied on spreadsheets, Skype, and mockup software.

We were always informed by A3 Logics if there was something that they couldn't achieve. They were very transparent. Java Enterprise is used more in Columbia than in India. I wanted to externalize development done for it to India at one point, having both teams work in shifts. A3 Logics searched for developers, but they told us that they wouldn't be able to help.

The other two companies I used were terrible. They were very cheap and did not deliver case scenarios or process reports. They told us that it was a time-consuming process and it would be expensive. A3 Logics took a lot of time in their development process and delivered good results. A3 Logics offers two types of development: either in stages or in parallel, all at once. We're now working in stages but, when we need to speed-up for any reason, A3 Logics will put together two teams that work at the same time for us.

Is there anything A3 Logics could have improved or done differently?

In the beginning, we worked with a project manager who didn't perform well and had the habit of saying yes to everything. A3 Logics replaced him and took responsibility for everything that could not be delivered in the project specs.

I would have preferred that the A3 Logics team spoke Spanish, but I realize that it's improbable. We've had some misunderstanding because of language barriers, especially when it came to my partner. Any communications for which I'm not on the call will usually lead to my partner understanding something different than what A3 Logics communicated.

The time zone has made it difficult for us to receive support for customers that need help during the day. I was worried about this, so I kept a developer in Columbia who takes care of these issues.
