We brought in two developers from Reckonsys to help us build GetReplies, our outreach automation platform. The scope was pretty broad and they jumped into both frontend and backend work, helping us architect core features from the ground up.

On the frontend side, they worked on the dashboard UI, making sure the user flows felt intuitive and clean. Backend work included building out the API integrations, handling webhook logic, and making the reply detection engine reliable across different email providers. They also helped with some of the trickier edge cases around email parsing that our internal team had been stuck on for a while.

Beyond just writing code, they were genuinely collaborative. They flagged things proactively, suggested better approaches when something we planned wasn't going to scale well, and stayed communicative throughout. Standups were easy, async updates were clear, and they didn't need a lot of hand-holding to stay productive.

The platform launched on schedule and in solid shape. Both developers were strong individually but also worked well together, which made a real difference given how much ground we needed to cover in a short timeframe.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

GetReplies went from a rough prototype to a fully functional platform ready for real users. The core reply detection accuracy came out really solid, which was the metric we were most worried about going in. We hit our launch deadline, which had already slipped once before Reckonsys came on board, so getting it across the finish line on time was a big deal for us.

After launch, onboarding our first batch of users went smoothly with minimal bugs reported. The codebase Reckonsys left behind was clean and well-structured enough that our internal team could pick it up without the need to refactor the same, which honestly isn't always the case when you bring in outside developers.

Overall the engagement numbers post-launch were encouraging and gave us enough confidence to start planning the next phase of features.

Reckonsys was pretty easy to work with from a process standpoint. They showed up to standups consistently, gave honest updates rather than just telling us what we wanted to hear, and flagged blockers early instead of sitting on them until they became bigger problems.

Deadlines were taken seriously. There were a couple of instances where scope got a little fuzzy and timelines needed adjusting, but they communicated that upfront and we worked it out without any drama. Nothing was ever a surprise at the last minute.

Response time on Slack was good, usually same day and often within a few hours. When we had urgent requests or needed to pivot on something, they adapted without making it feel like a big production. That kind of flexibility matters a lot when you're building something new and requirements shift as you learn more.

Overall the project management side of things was one of the smoother vendor experiences we have had.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Honestly, the people. Both developers were genuinely easy to be around, which sounds like a small thing but it makes a real difference when you're working closely with someone over several months. No ego, no attitude, just good people who showed up wanting to do good work.

They were hungry in the right way. Not overconfident, but eager to figure things out and deliver. If something was outside their comfort zone, they didn't shy away; they leaned in. That kind of attitude is hard to find and you can't really train it into someone.

Cultural fit was a non-issue, which we were a little unsure about going in. It ended up being a complete non-factor. Communication was natural, the working style clicked, and it never felt like we were bridging a gap. It just felt like working with colleagues.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Reckonsys could have done differently?

Nothing major comes to mind. If I had to pick something, early on they were a bit conservative about raising concerns and would sometimes wait to be asked rather than volunteering feedback. That got better as the engagement went on and they got more comfortable with us. Not a dealbreaker at all, just something they could work on from the start with new clients.

Reckonsys has designed the app's screens using Figma based on our requirements, and once we approved the design, the team started working on development. The team uses React, Python, and PostgreSQL in the app's development. 

The app is related to manufacturing and has the functionality to gather the requirements of products our end client needs to manufacture. The app produces a report to manufacture this product, and Reckonsys has helped us build this custom application according to our end client's requests. The project is close to concluding after the team conducts a user acceptance test.

We needed a SaaS platform built for one of our clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?
The platform is a multi-tenant system. It provides fast solutions for an existing customer base of our client, in the travel industry, such as airlines, hotels, taxi, etc. It offers solutions to end customers to use the applications to access the content. For example, a user could book an airline ticket through the application.

First, Reckonsys created the platform’s wireframes and UX design. They helped with the software design and built the solution from the ground up as an MVP. Their team built the first set of applications, including the travel booking application. They’ve also handled integration with travel providers, such as airlines, to introduce their company to the platform. Phase one has completed, and we’re in technical setup for the next phase.

We work with a delivery manager, lead technical architect, a development team of about six, and a dedicated QA person.

How did you come to work with Reckonsys?
We approached several providers with the scope of work and our preferred approach for the project. This team was introduced by a mutual acquaintance and invited to submit a proposal. We chose them because their proposal was the most detailed, and we liked their approach and plan of delivery.

We began working together around October 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 
We weren’t familiar with the domain and neither was the Reckonsys team so we utilized an agile approach. As we learned and applied that knowledge, Reckonsys stayed flexible and kept their focus on the original objective of going live. They helped us not get bogged down by infrastructure and kept us focused on the functionality must-haves for the MVP. Their team met the requirements of having a featured demo at the end of each two-week sprint. Their approach is great, their UX developers are fantastic, and they’re very quick with turnaround.

How did Reckonsys perform from a project management standpoint?
While the project management is being handled by a different partner, Reckonsys’s delivery manager has worked closely with us and them. We have weekly planning sessions. Even with unexpected delays, we were able to launch by the end of March 2021 and stay within the set cost. We use Jira, Aha!, and Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?
Each person on the team knows what they own and sticks to it. Their sense of ownership makes delivery that much easier. Regarding technical skills and the ability to deliver, they’re one of the best teams I’ve experienced.

Are there any areas they could improve?
Reckonsys could improve by introducing the idea of architecture or design security and establish it as a development practice. When it came to this aspect, their developers required more help and had a lot of questions for the first half of the project.

They know what to do and always look to use tools that provide the best value.
