They were also responsible for weekly demos, keeping me updated on progress, and making sure the app was tested properly before going live.

Key deliverables included a working iOS/Android app, integrated backend, clean UI based on my designs, and quality assurance to ensure a bug-free release.

Unfortunately, there were no positive measurable outcomes from this project. Deadlines were missed, and the app that was delivered was full of bugs — I personally found errors within minutes of testing it on TestFlight. Even basic items like spelling mistakes slipped through, despite me paying for QA. Instead of showing progress or success, the outcome demonstrated poor quality control and a lack of accountability. Within minutes of testing on TestFlight I found bugs that should have been caught long before release. I ended up with a product that caused more stress than value and will now require re-work by someone else.

 The project was mismanaged, deadlines were missed, and the final product was full of bugs. On top of that, the way I was treated left me with zero confidence in their professionalism.

Their project management was very poor. Deadlines were constantly pushed back, and items were rarely delivered on time. When they did deliver, the work was rushed and full of mistakes. Communication felt one-sided — I would raise issues or requests, and instead of addressing them properly, they often ignored or dismissed my concerns. Instead of adapting to my needs, they tried to push their own way of doing things, which only made the project more frustrating. There was no reliability when it came to timelines. Poor communication, missed deadlines, unethical behavior, and a buggy end product left me completely dissatisfied.

Honestly, nothing stood out as impressive or unique in a positive way. What I found most “unique” was how poorly managed the project was compared to other teams I’ve worked with.

There are many areas where 247 Labs Inc. could have improved or done things differently:

Respect the contract – follow the scope, get approvals before making changes, and actually deliver what was agreed.
Meet deadlines – stop pushing timelines back and then rushing incomplete work just to say something was delivered.
Take QA seriously – I paid for QA, yet my app was pushed live with spelling errors and obvious bugs I found within minutes of testing.
Communicate honestly – instead of ignoring my concerns or brushing me off, they should have been transparent about issues.
Act ethically – threatening clients, making racist remarks in meetings, and trying to buy five-star reviews is completely unacceptable.
Respect intellectual property – never threaten to sell or withhold a client’s IP. That alone should be a red flag for anyone.
Show professionalism – treat clients with respect instead of hostility, and don’t create more stress than solutions

If even half of these points had been handled properly, the experience would have been very different.

The nature of their work has been ensuring that the app's infrastructure is optimized and that we're using the right set of services from the cloud provider.

For example, we're using AWS for the servers and databases. We've been working with 247 Labs Inc to ensure that this backend infrastructure has all the security in place and is optimized for all the latest updates made by AWS. Additionally, their team works on any functional changes required, although the app hasn't required a lot of work in that area. Overall, their team supports our app's operation and maintenance.

I've been working with Boris (Senior Client Advisor Leading Sales & Marketing), who acts as the account manager, and Ahmed (Chief DevOps Officer). In the backend, 247 Labs Inc also has a technical team of iOS and Android developers. Although we don't interact with the developers regularly, we may have meetings with them to share our requirements.

We found them through a Google search. A few years back, I used to work for this organization as a full-time employee. At that time, we were also contemplating to move another project to another service provider. I was researching and seeing who could be the best fit for us at that time and came across 247 Labs Inc. I found them to be a good solution provider for anything related to mobile development.

For the current app, we realized we had a more specific need for operations and maintenance, which was the area where we found 247 Labs Inc to be the best fit for us. Thus, we started working with them, and the relationship blossomed.

We've spent between $25,000–$50,000 CAD (approximately $18,000–$36,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around June 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Some of the work we've done involved moving from some older AWS services to newer services. The update increased our cost to about $650 CAD (approximately $470 USD) per month. However, 247 Labs Inc has made optimizations since, and we're now close to paying $250 CAD (approximately $180 USD) per month, which represents a reduction of over 50% in our cloud services costs.

How did 247 Labs Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

247 Labs Inc has stayed on time and on scope. We communicate via email. When needed, we also set up video calls. Communicating with them has never been a challenge, as they always make themselves available for calls.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Boris has been very active and client-focused. He comes across as a very helpful person who likes to work directly with clients and works in the client's best interests. He doesn't take advantage of the contractual terms to get the largest profit possible. Instead, he provides solutions and workarounds to optimize the relationship. I can speak very highly of him.

Moreover, Ahmed is a very senior technical person who takes care of our AWS services and infrastructure. He has been very helpful in ensuring the app is up and running, optimizing the service, and reducing the operational cost. He's also very tech-savvy, technically sound, and customer-focused. He has helped us reduce our expenses and ensure we're using the right set of tools to run our app.

What did you find most impressive about them?

247 Labs Inc is very customer-focused, communicative, and hands-on with the technology. As a service provider, it's very important to have an open line of communication, ensuring that they're available to clarify any doubts. We don't have a technical engineering background internally, so we heavily rely on them for their recommendations and guidance. All around, they're a good partner to have, as they communicate very well and provide the right guidance and recommendations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything in particular 247 Labs Inc could improve on. Everyone needs to keep improving, so whatever relationship we already have, we can develop it further. Still, it's a matter of time; the more we work together, the more the relationship grows.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Think of what your project and needs are, and keep the piecemeal requirements to the minimum as much as possible. If you bundle requirements together and present them to the service provider, you can get more done by the team at once and maybe gain an advantage of some discounts or package deals. It's always best to have your requirements clearly laid out before approaching the service provider.
