**UPDATED REVIEW**
This review was published on August 13, 2024.Project Manager, Retail Finance CompanyFinancial servicesLondon, United Kingdom201-500 EmployeesJan 2016 - Ongoing$1,000,000 to $9,999,999VerifiedProject summaryAccedia supplemented the development team of a retail finance company to provide spot improvements and bug fixes to their retail orginations platform. They are currently working to migrate to an MVC frameworkFeedback summaryThe team has successfully delivered all of the product functionality they have been tasked with and has increased their capacity and velocity over the years of their partnership. Accedia communicates very frequently through Slack, helping the teams to function as one effective unit.BACKGROUNDIntroduce your business and what you do there.I am a product manager for a retail finance company under a larger parent organization.OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGEWhat challenge were you trying to address with Accedia? We needed to expand our development resource base for some work on a product that we were conducting. The work itself was relatively small, so we decided we wanted to bring in a team rather than hire in-house for the project.SOLUTIONWhat was the scope of their involvement? They supplemented our development team in making limited changes as needed throughout an iterative process as we evaluated our customers’ interests and needs for our product. The product itself is a retail originations platform that’s built in Web Forms, which is a legacy stack that comes with a number of technological limitations. We are moving towards an MVC framework with them, although we are taking one step at a time throughout the process. They helped with that migration, primarily in terms of functionality but with some elements of design as well. What is the team composition? We started out working with a team of ten, and we reduced that down to about 4–5 at the beginning of 2019.How did you come to work with Accedia?I wasn’t involved in the selection process that led us to our team, but they have been our development partner for quite a while now.How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent over $1,000,000 with them over our years of working together. What is the status of this engagement? Our work with them started around January 2016 and is still ongoing in a mostly maintenance occasional upgrade capacity.RESULTS & FEEDBACKWhat evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The main success metrics were the delivery of the projects they’ve worked on for us. Everything we’ve built together has been released and remains in the ecosystem of our products. All of their work has been done with a purpose and supported the core of our business, which has helped them to become a real part of the culture of our organization. From a metrics perspective, the velocity of the team and the amount that we are able to achieve has very much improved over the course of our engagement together. The fact that we were able to bring them into our day to day operations as well as we have is a testament to the strength of the relationship between our companies. How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint? We handle the project management aspects of the project almost completely. From my perspective, however, they did a good job of sticking to the deadlines that we laid out for them and making sure that we stayed on track toward all deliverables. The teams communicate primarily over Slack, either voice and video call or messaging about anything that needs to be discussed in the process of the day-to-day. We had a very set regime in terms of our agile approach to the delivery, so there were regular weekly standups and every-other-week retrospectives. They did a great job of being totally open and communicative throughout all of those processes. What did you find most impressive about them?Their ability to learn and adapt is consistently one of the most impressive aspects of our work with them. Flexibility is an often-overlooked quality in outsourced vendors, I think, but Accedia was able to adapt to the needs of our business in all regards, whether culturally, strategically, or procedurally. They were able to strike a really good balance between following our instructions and challenging the reasons why we made various decisions in order to help make the product the best it could be. Fairly early on into our relationship, there wasn’t much difference between the two teams because of their ability to work within the unit almost seamlessly. Are there any areas they could improve?I think that they could challenge ideas a little bit more in the early stages of their projects. There is certainly an aspect in which the people you’re working with are your clients and the customer is always right, but at the end of the day you’re building software, and that has to be a joint effort. We developed that level of collaboration over time but having it even earlier could have helped us get up to speed more quickly.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Regardless of who has more knowledge of the history of the project at the beginning, you need to make sure that those people have the expertise to take the lead in supporting the new people coming on board. You also have to make sure that those joining the project are gaining the knowledge and skills that they need in order to be successful in their roles.STAR RATINGSOverall rating: 5Quality: 4Cost: 3Schedule: 4Willing to refer: 5

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What specific goals or objectives did you hire Accedia to accomplish?I've had the pleasure of working with Аccedia on a project for one of our enterprise clients in the Nordics region. We specialize in providing comprehensive QA services, and often, our clients require additional software development expertise that goes beyond our capacity. This is where our decade-long partnership with Accedia comes into play. For this particular project, we sought Accedia's expertise to develop a monitoring solution aimed at tracking faults and sending notifications regarding the client‘s internal system for components order and inventory, primarily used by their sales teams. The objective was clear: equip our client with the tools to receive proactive alerts on potential defaults in their system behavior, enabling them to prevent cyber attacks or any downtime that could affect users.

Please include a summary of key deliverables. The scope of the project with Accedia encompassed the programming of backend logic for monitoring system logs and detecting behaviors that deviated from the norm. Additionally, they were tasked with developing a straightforward front-end admin panel designed for the project management teams of our client. The deliverables were focused on enhancing the client's ability to manage and monitor their system's health effectively.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? One of the primary goals was to reduce system downtime to zero in the first year following the introduction of the monitoring solution—a target that was successfully met. Furthermore, the client observed a notable increase in user satisfaction among the sales representatives who relied on the system, compared to prior to the implementation of the solution.Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs? In this case we had a project manager on the client's side, ensuring a seamless collaboration process. Together with Accedia, we worked on defining requirements, clarifying expectations, and building a Proof of Concept (PoC). Their ability to deliver items on time and respond adeptly to our needs underscored their professionalism and commitment to the project's success. What was your primary form of communication with Accedia?In-Person MeetingVirtual MeetingWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company? What truly sets Accedia apart is their customer-centric approach. Every member of the team engaged in the project, irrespective of their position within the company, displayed a genuine eagerness to collaborate. Moreover, their active listening skills were evident throughout the project. They paid close attention to client needs and objectives and adapted their technological approach accordingly. Are there any areas for improvement or something Accedia could have done differently? It's hard to pinpoint anything significant as the project was managed exceptionally well. One aspect that could have potentially enhanced the project's kickoff was an onsite introduction with the client. The constraints imposed by Covid measures made this impossible, and while this wasn't directly within Accedia's control, such face-to-face interactions often lay a strong foundation for project success. Despite this, I must emphasize that we still managed to navigate these challenges successfully, and the project's outcomes were not affected.

**The Review** — Jan 20, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: With assistance from Accedia, the client moved to newer and more secure hardware and software environments and has seen an improvement in the software speed and the UX. The team from Accedia has been collaborative and has a high level of technical knowledge relative to cost.
"“They provide good quality work for a good price point.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a senior manager of application development for a Dairy Farmers of America subsidiary.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

We had a few issues with freezing web applications, so we hired Accedia for ongoing web development and support activities.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The project was a collaboration; Accedia provided us with enhancements to the existing websites we owned. We also built a device app internally with their assistance. Our engagement with Accedia was limited to development, design, and support. They helped with UX/UI design and the overall design solutions based on our requirements.

We conducted an analysis of trends and ran that by Accedia; their graphics department came up with the wireframes based on our inputs. We went back and forth before we finalized the UI/UX, and the development team took it from there. We built the device app to validate the functionality and then went back in to apply the UX/UI design to give it the look and feel we wanted.

We had guidelines on the website, and Accedia helped us with their implementation. They revised the code to make it more standard and to allow retailers to place orders and make payments through the applications. Key technologies of the web app included .NET coupled with a plug-in from Progress Software. The device app utilized NativeScript with Angular and TypeScript.

Accedia is currently helping us move our applications to a new data center and some of our websites to Azure DevOps. They’re assisting with testing and reviewing in a support role.

What is the team composition?

On the initial project, we worked with a project manager, a team of two senior developers, and one person from their graphic design team.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

They were a recommendation from a partner that we were working with. We selected them because they were familiar with the software.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019, and the rollout for customers to the web and device applications was completed in June 2022. We continue to work with them in a support role.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We can’t put a number to it, but there are security benefits because we were able to move to newer hardware and software environments that made everything more secure. The solution is also faster, and the UX is far better than what we initially had.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s a very collaborative experience. We communicate with Microsoft Teams and emails and use AzureDevOps for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have high technical expertise relative to cost.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could incorporate some automated testing to reduce the QA rework cycles.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They provide good quality work for a good price point.

We needed someone to build digital products and services for our customers and us.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Accedia provides custom software development from scratch, including backend infrastructure and web apps. Based on our requirements and documentation briefs, they’re currently building a platform to manage our machines and operators, view data, configure motors, and learn how we can streamline our performance. In terms of technologies, they’re using technologies like Microsoft Azure, .NET, and React.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re straightforward and interesting, which makes them stand out from other providers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think they can improve anything because they commit to taking care of our software, making them great service providers.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be communicative and give them a chance to know you as a business so you can work together.

**The Review** — Nov 2, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The client was happy with Accedia’s consulting services, which led them to complete the app with all the required features. The team excelled at project management; they met all their estimations on timelines and costs. Their confidence and accuracy regarding their skills and capabilities stood out.
"“I was impressed with how clear and confident Accedia was about their expertise — they never overstated anything.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president and CEO of Open Applications Group (OAGi), a nonprofit industry association that develops standards for interoperability across industries.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

We hired them to help us with application design and architecture, deployment architecture, and application management.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Accedia guided us in building a browser-based desktop application, from everything that went into design and development advice to deployment in production. Our team conceived of the application and its requirements and did most of the development work, and Accedia took a coaching and consulting role. We would explain our approach, and the team would review it and make comments. Then, we'd do a bit of development and run it by them. They also did development work on some features of the application.

We used Microsoft's stack, including C#, Blazor as a web assembly technology, and SQL server in Microsoft Azure, where we also deployed the app. Neo4j was our graph database, both local and cloud versions, and Auth0 was our authentication and authorization tool. We used GitHub for source control and Microsoft DevOps for our continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline to push the application through to production.

The app's core features and functionalities revolve around documenting standards around the world, technologies present and emerging, standards industry organizations, and companies involved in standards development. Our data also includes how standards relate to one another, how they relate to technologies, and how all of these things relate to the UN's sustainable development goals.

When developers or IT departments approach an integration project, they ask questions about technology options, standards out there, and which standards are actively maintained. The app's purpose is to help record such information, support various queries, and produce useful reports to answer developers' questions.

What is the team composition?

We worked with an account manager, a primary consultant, and another teammate who did some development work. I also met with Accedia's upper management once or twice.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

We found them through a referral by a company that makes a software control suite for many different platforms, including Blazor, which we were using. Since we were using the control suite, I reached out to the provider and asked for recommendations for a service provider to assist us in implementing their control suite. They connected us with Accedia, and it was soon apparent that their expertise was much greater than just the control suite, so we decided to use them for consulting.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

This project lasted from November 2020–August 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since we’re a nonprofit organization, we don’t have any metrics related to ROI. The measure of Accedia’s success was based on our need for the application; at the end of the engagement, we had the app that met all the requirements. As a result, we can now do exactly what we set out to do and produce the reports we need. The project went so well that we’ve just signed an agreement with Accedia to start another project.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great at project management. Their cost and time estimates were reasonable, and they nailed them. They met every estimate regarding the start date, end date, total number of hours, and time and materials — it was amazing.

We used GitHub for project management and Confluence for some documentation. Since it was a small enough project and team, it was easy to keep track of everything with those tools only. We used email for communication and met regularly using Microsoft Teams, where we would discuss the project and share screens.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with how clear and confident Accedia was about their expertise — they never overstated anything. They were really clear when they had the expertise for something, when they didn’t, and when they could figure things out. Their directness and accurate self-assessment of their skills were outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing they needed to improve comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The same thing I appreciated from Accedia, they appreciated from us, which was being really clear about the requirements and where they might be a bit fuzzy. Since we engaged them for consulting, it was perfectly okay to be unclear on some requirements.

I’d also advise clarifying what’s possible with respect to payment terms. Accedia has parameters for building products, but they’re willing to be flexible. Therefore, give them a clear idea of your cash flow requirements.

**The Review** — Nov 1, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Accedia’s work was instrumental in the delivery of two important projects. The resources they provided were talented and exceeded the client’s expectations. They communicated effectively through Microsoft Teams and could rely on Accedia’s wider, skilled team behind them to improve their work.
"“We weren’t just getting the resources we were paying for; behind them, they had a talented group they had access to.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and co-founder of dotConnect, a startup company that provides digital banking services.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

We were trying to get skilled resources to make them part of our team to assist with part of the development of our software product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Accedia provided us with UI/UX design and development resources that helped us deliver our custom SaaS product, which we sell to our clients on a subscription basis. The team helped us with R&D, improving the product, adding new features, and building custom software based on our clients’ needs.

For our first project, they helped us after we went live with two of our clients, and we needed to build two specific features for open banking. They also helped develop a chatbot with AI technology. As for technologies, they used C#, .NET, Microsoft Azure, and the Angular framework.

What is the team composition?

We worked with an account coordinator and a technical manager from Accedia. They provided a UI/UX designer and a C# backend developer; one of the teammates stayed with us for six months, and the other stayed for 14 months.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

One of my friends was working at a bank as a project manager, and that bank was using Accedia. My friend got me in contact with them, and that’s how our relationship started.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €150,000–€200,000 (approximately $148,000–$197,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

This project lasted from September 2020–August 2022. Currently, they provide resources for a different project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our main metric was the delivery of our open banking integration; that wasn’t an easy project, and having Accedia working on it was a big achievement. They also played a fundamental role in the development of the chatbot.

I had previously worked with another offshore company, and although their services were much cheaper, Accedia was better; their resources were much more talented and exceeded my expectations, so I moved my operations from that company to Accedia.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

We managed the project ourselves. As for communication, we had Microsoft Teams meetings every two weeks with the technical manager, designer, and developer to review progress, feedback, and challenges. The designer and developers had their own discussions with the technical manager and the rest of the Accedia team, which I liked.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The two resources Accedia provided were really good. Since they had a skilled and talented team, they could approach each other to get more experience. We weren’t just getting the resources we were paying for; behind them, they had a talented group they had access to. Although I don’t know if we were lucky or if that’s the kind of resources they always have, we’re still engaging with them and willing to find out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although this wasn’t an error on their part, we discussed the way we made payments with them. We get paid when we deliver our part of the project every 3–5 months. Meanwhile, we had to make monthly payments to Accedia, which could cause an issue with our cash flow. The team was accommodating to an extent when we had invoice delays. However, since we’ll continue to work with them, we want to try to match our payment frequency with when we get paid to avoid cash flow problems.

The company also provides business facilitation services for large enterprise clients on the local market. Its portfolio consists of leading international Financial,Telecommunication, Information Technology, Marketing, Media, and Advertisement organizations.

The Managing Director of the company, my role is to facilitate the relationships between our subcontractors and business clients. This means that I help both parties achieve quality communication, unmatched service offerings, and on-time release of developed solutions. In addition, I consult our business partners and clients on the best approach to reach their goals and grow their organizations further.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Accedia, and what were your goals?

We and Accedia partnered around the common goal to deliver quality offshore software development services and resources. As a company with experience in facilitating business relationships for our local clients, we aim to assure the best outsourcing services and the best communication that are not deterred by the large distances. Since the beginning of our partnership, Accedia and we have collaborated on projects for different businesses in various industries. One of them is a leading financial institution in South Africa. Accedia has executed many projects for them, mainly in the spheres of enterprise application development and IT consulting services.

In general, Accedia has contributed to the successful implementation of both internal business and external customer-facing applications for our business partners on a group, department, and subsidiary levels. Our goals were and still are to allocate the best software development service providers that can support our clients in delivering immersive user experiences for business and end clients on the territory of South Africa. Thus, we are constantly on the lookout for technology partners that have expertise with the latest technologies and experience from particular industries.

Accedia’s track record of successful projects with global clients from manufacturing, finance, and energy, among others, has made them the perfect choice. I can honestly say that we have lucked out by having them as our partners and thanks to their dedication and professionalism, we have continuously reached and surpassed business objectives.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We facilitate business relationships with carefully selected international service providers on behalf of our clients. Accedia had the highest success rate, previous experience with local businesses, offerings flexibility, and ability to respond on time to changing circumstances. Thus, some of our clients, picked them as a provider of choice and us as the company that can represent said provider on the local market.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Our team is collaborating with Acccedia on multiple projects that require different technology expertise, industry know-how, and have different durations. Thanks to our facilitation efforts and the great professionalism that Accedia showed, our clients received the support they needed to deliver innovative solutions. Currently, Accedia is engaged in multiple development projects through which the leading financial institution will be able to provide superb financial services to its end and business clients. Some of the projects involved the implementation of cutting-edge web applications with a Microsoft .NET stack of technologies. Their end goal is to optimize the contribution and investment processes. The platforms not only make them more efficient but also more flexible. The solutions save time and effort for users and enable them complete freedom in managing their finances, as well as a detailed forecast of their future investments and expenses.

Accedia is also engaged in the development of an innovative web portal that offers a responsive user-friendly channel through which users can access their whole financial data and projections for the years to come. The platform includes many stand-alone applications that are also integrated with the mobile application, allowing users on-the-go access to their financial data, comprehensive reports, and recommendations for efficient management of future expenses. In the course of our collaboration, Accedia has continuously demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft .NET framework, web technologies such as ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Web API, collaboration solutions (Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics 365), data analytics (Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft SQL Server) and the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

The company has proved to be an invaluable partner to our business clients with their Microsoft technology expertise and professional approach. The consultants at Accedia have supported and continue to deliver quality user experiences for our partners through the successful integration of enterprise knowledge, the latest data security standards, and cutting-edge technology frameworks.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our usual setup includes designated Project managers (PM) who facilitate the relationship between our end client and the subcontractor they have hired through us. When working with Accedia, we also apply the same practice and so far it has worked well for all sides. The PMs on both sides – ours and Accedia’s establish a communication channel that delivers feedback quickly and efficiently.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Accedia’s commitment, expertise, and professional attitude have helped our partners in developing strong business and client-facing innovative solutions that offer quality services and address properly day-to-day user needs. As a clear indicator of success, I can offer the request of one of our biggest clients to continue the collaboration with Accedia and their preference to use this partner on bigger and more complex projects. The track record of successfully executed projects further confirms their value as our partner and provider of choice for our clients.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We sustained multiple communication channels to cover day-to-day questions and feedback pertaining to general objectives, projects-specific, and relationship-wise matters with Accedia. Thanks to the different means of collaborations and a dedicated PM on each side, I can say that we are upholding good workflow dynamics and so far have managed to deliver all solutions on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Accedia stood out with their dedication, professionalism, and agility to start immediately, undertake short-term engagements, and scale team up and down depending on our client’s business needs. Accedia has gone above and beyond to support all our clients in delivering innovative solutions for the local market. Thus, not only do they offer unmatched by local partners' development services, but also show an ability to stay flexible to our client’s changing requirements.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Throughout our collaboration, Accedia has delivered on its promise of quality services. They exceed our expectations, keep us informed of any changes, and are an essential part of the teams of our clients despite the distance, the cultural differences, and the work ethics. Currently, I am not aware of any areas for improvement that need to be addressed. On the contrary, I can confirm that they have quickly adapted their own team to the new “remote-only” way of communication and this has had no impact on our collaboration.

OfficeSuite has also received PC Magazine's Editor's Choice and InfoWorld's Best Office App awards for Android. MobiSystems was founded in 2001 and is entirely privately held.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Accedia?

One of our products - a mobile app that lets publishers monetize on their e-book portfolio, has been developed in partnership with Accedia, who supported us with iOS expertise which was scarce at the time.

What were your goals for this project?

We set to deliver a native experience to readers with access to user-generated books free of charge and the ability to read straight on-the-go. Accedia’s focus on usability and achieving a polished experience provided value that supported our goal and quickly resulted in positive user reviews.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Accedia?

We had already been acquainted with the leadership at Accedia and decided to explore their capabilities alongside other companies from Bulgaria. We needed a company large enough to provide a consistently high quality of services but also flexible enough to match our own fast growth.

What also weighed in on the decision, was the fact that we could use this collaboration as a ground for transferring iOS development skills to our own team, equipping us to maintain the product on our own.

Describe the project in detail.

The project covered end-to-end implementation of the native iOS application. The core work revolved around the development of several features. This included the option for readers to download and import book files from external publishers, supporting a few digital formats.

Another key differentiator was creating a personal account for the benefit of maintaining of a collection of favorite reads. The mobile solution was further integrated with the book resources database for easy management of our readers’ personal libraries through an intuitive interface.

We entrusted Accedia with the entire iOS part of the work, yet they still worked in collaboration with Android development on our side, which worked out quite smoothly.

Throughout the whole project, the team at Accedia spent a significant amount of time working with our product management team, to stay in line with evolving requirements and newly acquired user knowledge.

We followed Scrum with daily standups for the dev team and bi-weekly progress demos followed by planning. Those sessions engaged our project and product teams with management stakeholders, which provided timely feedback that the development could use as input at every iteration.

What was the team composition?

We started with 1 and continually grew the team to 3 iOS engineers from Accedia, all of them quite experienced and knowledgeable, which resulted into crucial knowledge transfer to our team. The design, web & backend development, and QA we did ourselves.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

To date, the app has been downloaded over 60 000 times on iOS. Further, thanks to their progress with complex ad platform integrations, the team of Accedia left a firm base for monetization – publishers are now able to earn money based on ad revenue and subscriptions.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We used multiple communication channels to cover day-to-day questions and feedback as well as general matters, project- and relationship-wise. We were positively surprised by their open attitude towards challenges, they also came forward with ideas on how to optimize the implementation of certain features than what was originally envisioned.

The technical project lead they assigned was a game-changer – this streamlined communication for non-trivial matters and made us rest assured that our objectives were communicated and understood by the entire team at Accedia, working with us.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their team stood out with their product-oriented mindset – they took the idea and helped us elevate it for a successful Go-To-Market. On top of the intuitive interactions on the frontline, the team at Accedia made sure to secure solid app performance by building a clean iOS architecture and introducing CI (Continuous Integration).

Thus, the app was set to function seamlessly as data and user base grow, as well as to accommodate more features over time.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They did an outstanding job, even completing planned work ahead of schedule, which left us room for perfecting the details. One thing that I know they are working on is smoothing out transitions so when new team members are introduced, work continues with as little as possible disruption.

**The Review** — Dec 2, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The Accedia team was able to successfully launch the app which was downloaded approximately 1200 times within five months of going live. The app was presented on both TV and radio and it was received with positive responses from both people and the media.
""Within 5 months after our new app was launched, it has been downloaded over 1200 times."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the President of the Bulgarian Organization of Voluntary Blood Donation (FB: БОДК / BOVBD) - a Nonprofit Organization, devoted to promoting voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation in Bulgaria and raising awareness about the issues of lack of blood and blood products, which are needed every day in Bulgaria

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Accedia?

We didn’t hire Accedia – they offered us their voluntary help. When the COVID-19 pandemic started, the number of blood donors in Bulgaria plummeted by more than 30%, which caused significant problems.

From 2013 until the end of 2019 our organization was using a mobile application, available only for iOS devices, which was a part of our Donate blood project for providing help and encouraging voluntary blood donation.

Accedia contacted us in April 2020, offered their help and we began to work jointly on the entirely new mobile app that we needed.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to create a completely new application, covering both iOS and Android devices, with a modern design and adequate functionalities, which would allow people in need of blood (for themselves or others) to register a call for help, and also for volunteers to register as potential donors that could be contacted by us in case of need.

An important part was that it would have an administrative section for our team, allowing us to obtain immediately all the necessary information for each and every call for help and efficiently search for, find and notify potential donors, send them relevant information and finally communicate the donation to the person in need.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Accedia?

In fact, we were approached by Accedia at the beginning of April, following the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in Bulgaria. They have found out about our old app and noticed the problems we were having and offered to develop a new one as a part of their pro-bono efforts to help.

The partnership started from there and developed throughout the project.

Describe the project in detail.

Through several meetings with team members from Accedia, we were able to explain and convey to the team what the necessities of the Organization with regards to the app were, what functions were essential, which of them could be automated and which - not and how the system needed to perform.

A basic timeline for the project was established, and work proceeded, with scheduled meetings with various team members on a regular basis, in order to complete separate stages of development.

Accedia team members sent inquiries about certain issues and functionalities, which our team had to review and complete, in order to best explain the necessities of the app and how it should function.

Several meetings were held so that stages of the project could be presented and commented, and various adaptations and amendments resulting from those were also completed.

The final version was also presented interactively so that functionalities could be tested and the app was uploaded and launched in the end of June 2020.

What was the team composition?

Accedia devoted a team lead and several developers, plus a design specialist.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within 5 months after our new app was launched, it has been downloaded over 1200 times. We have over 400 new registered voluntary blood donors. We have also received over 150 calls for urgent help through the app and managed to successfully assist in over 90% of them.

This is even more important and impressive, given the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has severely reduced the number of voluntary blood donors and has significantly increased the need for blood donation in Bulgaria.

The new app was presented by us in different TV, radio and online broadcasts and was rated highly by both the media and the people.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was effective. The team at Accedia quickly realized that the project was different from what they anticipated, but did not back down, listened to our requirements and our feedback and tried to comply with our needs as best as they could. Meetings were held regularly and our remarks and feedback were taken promptly into account.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

First of all, it was the willingness to commit resources and effort to help out a Nonprofit organization, especially at a time when many companies were encountering difficulties in their own work.

Further, they showed a good understanding of our needs and did not back out of the project when obstacles were encountered or when they found out that it was different from their expectations and predictions, unlike other companies we have worked with before.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always room for improvement. Communication can be even more efficient, a planning stage might be more detailed in order to make sure that fewer issues appear further into the project, especially given the fact that a professional team is communicating with a Nonprofit team which lacks knowledge in the tech field.

From a design standpoint, it is also possible to be better. We believe that Accedia would keep their ongoing technical support and updating of the app, fixing issues that turn out during its use and adding new features that would become necessary in our day-to-day work.

**The Review** — Sep 2, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The work delivered by Accedia consistently exceeds project stakeholder expectations, helping to streamline internal operations for the client significantly and boost their profile among customers. The team is organized and proactive, even training replacements for employees if anyone leaves.
"“Their actions consistently demonstrate the proactivity and empathy that they possess.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the global IT business intelligence manager for a luxury brand operating in the leisure and tourism sector.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

We were interested in finding a partner that could help our larger company achieve a full digital transformation by focusing on the data warehousing and business intelligence side.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company had an existing environment that we worked with at the time of the project, but very quickly realized that we needed to upgrade the whole environment in order to have better reporting and more integration of services through the cloud. Their team helped us to build that new data warehouse and the corresponding reporting tool in the cloud using Microsoft.

What is the team composition?

Initially, there were three people from their team working with us, including two seniors and one junior developer. We have scaled up and down depending on our requirements since then, with the most being six and at the moment closer to four.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

We had a previous partner that we had been working with but wanted to raise the standard of quality in the work and reporting that we were getting. We wanted a group in Eastern Europe that that had not only expertise in data and BI reporting, but that had a can-do attitude and a mentality geared towards automation, and we also wanted a company that was big enough to handle our needs but small enough that we were an important client to them. We saw a lot of that in Accedia, so we decided to move forward with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started around May 2017 and is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The success of their work is primarily measured by our users receiving their products, and by the deliverables we ask them for getting delivered both on time and on budget. The reports that they’ve given us as a result of the work have been critical in guiding our company on this journey, so we’re very pleased with their work.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a daily standup call with their team, and I have a longer weekly call with their project manager, so we are always on the same page about what progress we’ve made and what we’re focusing on going forward.

Because we have two different teams working in different time zones, there can occasionally be communication issues, but they have done an excellent job of working together with us to resolve anything that comes up before it causes us any problems.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been very impressed by the attitude that they bring to every challenge we face as a part of the project. They’re not a huge company, but they are always willing to take on whatever we give them, and to bring in any extra hands that they might need from the rest of their company as necessary. Their actions consistently demonstrate the proactivity and empathy that they possess.

Another huge bonus I’ve noticed that is frequently overlooked is that they’re willing to train replacements for employees who leave their team on the rare occasion when that occurs. Oftentimes, the prospect of training a new person is left to the client, but they will actually go out of their way to find a replacement a month or two beforehand and put them in the project to make sure they’re up to speed before they need to be doing the work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything negative that I have to say at all.

We were trying to address our lack of skilled resources, particularly pertaining to specific technologies. We wanted to augment our existing teams for a number of complex projects.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Two cloud engineers are helping us with the cloud mediation program. Using AWS, they’re implementing standards, policies, and processes to make sure that we can best manage our projects in the future. '

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Microsoft Teams and Azure DevOps to manage and monitor their work. They’ve done well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have an impressive range of skills. They’re senior developers who have excellent capabilities. They’re also eager to come in and fill any technical gaps to ensure that we don’t fall through with any of our project deliverables.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They cover a wide spread of technologies, which has been a highlight of working with them. Their work ethic is also great, as they conduct themselves professionally and work at the highest level.

**The Review** — Jun 9, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The development work delivered by Accedia has exceeded expectations for the project, consistently moving the client toward long term goals and often driving near-term revenue increases. Their team is extremely collaborative and driven, working hard to learn from each project and continue to improve.
"“The level of trust we’ve developed with them because of that consistency and performance is a huge asset to the work.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

My organization is a parent company of a number of local newspaper entities in the US and UK. I am the head of media engineering, so I drive the construction of digital products for our organization.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

We were going through some tremendous changes as we transitioned our organization from Print to digital. The specific challenge I was facing is that we have a team in India that we outsource some of our work to, and the offshore model requires a lot of time put into the communication and management of the work. I wanted to transition that engagement to a team that could operate a little bit more autonomously.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

What Accedia did for us was twofold: one is to provide specialized Java expertise to help us build enterprise backend services for our organization, and the other is to work as a full-stack engineering team that handles the development of entire products that we manage.

Their involvement with us has scaled over time to the point where we can give them projects to tackle and just handle the management of timelines and clarifications while they break down and tackle on the work within their own team.

What was the team composition?

At the height of our demand, we had nine of their engineers working with us, but we’ve scaled that back during the pandemic and are between 4–8 active resources for the most part.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

One of my peers was working with them and was very much enjoying the relationship, so he recommended that I explore the possibility of working with them. We have them a test project to begin with and have been working together ever since.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost of the engagement has between $1 million – $2 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around February 2018 and the project is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The way we measure our success is against the roadmap that we build with our business partners, and we can see how each project moves us further down that roadmap and whether or not we fully delivered against our goals for that scope of work. We continue to work with them largely because of the significant benefit that they are able to deliver to our team in meeting those goals.

The other main metric we track is our revenue stream, which my general manager and I are constantly monitoring to see the impact of our various products and services. There are a number of smaller processes going on underneath that and we always hold retrospectives to make sure we are turning around individual tickets and things like that, but at a higher level we have seen more than the revenue growth we are targeting, so we’re very pleased with the results.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

The model they follow is that they assign a technical lead who acts as the project manager. They liaise with the technical lead on our side of the business, and they work together to coordinate the flow of the work.

That management is part and parcel with their services and that level of proactivity has been reflected in the questions and clarifications they have for the context of our business problems, and the out-of-the-box solutions that they deliver.

Underneath the project lead, they have a number of engineers, QA, and operational resources who figure out how to break down and complete each of the tasks. Those team members attend all of our standups, which helps us to make sure that all of us are consistently on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The process that they follow in bringing on resources is incredibly rigorous and lasts beyond the initial stages of your engagement, so we haven’t had any issues with the people they’ve put onto our teams. The level of trust we’ve developed with them because of that consistency and performance is a huge asset to the work. They have built a partnership with us that goes beyond just the terms of a contract, and that has worked incredibly well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We constantly discuss what they can be doing better or differently, and they are always incredibly willing to learn and improve no matter who’s fault the issue may have been. Given that attitude, I really don’t have anything I wish they were doing differently.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You have to approach it as a partnership. Do your due diligence, and really take the time to figure out how you’re going to communicate your goals and walk through the process with them so that they understand what you are looking for and have a chance to deliver that.

**Feedback Summary**: The solution has increased efficiency and decreased turnaround time. It's user-friendly and provides users with flexibility. The Accedia team is up-to-date on the newest technologies and exuberate expertise within their industry. They're proactive about researching issues and providing resolutions.
"“Accedia is always clear, precise, and reliable. They consistently deliver what they say they will.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the systems support manager at a financial institution that provides administration for pension and provident funds. This includes good healthcare, insurance, and investments.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

We needed them to build a fund accounting system that could generate and audit working papers and financial statements. Then these papers and statements are submitted to a financial services regulator.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re a big company, and I’m only speaking from my experience and on behalf of my specific division’s project with Accedia. Essentially, we had an existing system that was developed in-house, and Accedia had to build on top of it. They added several new features and increased functionality so users can navigate and utilize the solution. These additional functionalities relay important information that wasn’t there before.

This has been an evolving project. Many things have been deployed, and we’re continuing to build the system. The more we use it, the more requirements are needed and developed.

What is the team composition?

There have been several different people over the years.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

I can’t speak to my company as a whole because I’m just one small cog in the wheel. Our group, the IT department, was looking for developers to come and assist because we couldn’t find the right resources.

How much have you invested with them?

I’m not the one who makes the payments. We’ve probably invested around $5 million so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership began in May 2013.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My role is on the support team for business users who use the system we developed. Since its deployment, we've seen an increase in efficiency. What’s more, the turnaround time for producing financial statements for the board of trustees and the regulator has been optimized. Doing the submissions used to be a very manual process, and now it’s completely within their hands. Users can do it as they please, bringing flexibility and efficiency to the process.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

Accedia is always clear, precise, and reliable. They consistently deliver what they say they will. There has never been a time when they’ve said something can’t be done. When I ask if something is possible, they come back and give me the solution or an alternative.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ll reiterate that their efficiency is excellent. What’s more, they’re up-to-date with technology and everything new in their industry. If they come across a problem, they research it and find a solution for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear and concise in explaining what your requirements are. If you’re transparent about your objectives, Accedia will achieve them.

**The Review** — Apr 2, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The deliverables provided by Accedia are currently undergoing final user testing and QA, and project stakeholders are pleased with the quality of work delivered. Though QA timelines could have been shorter, the team did a good job of staying on top of communication and deadlines throughout.
"“We have benefited significantly from being able to learn while working with them.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a senior manager of application development with a dairy product company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

They serve as our professional service provider for our website, progress.com, and we originally brought them on to enhance and modernize the site as well as build an inventory management and customer ordering app for our stores.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We started by providing them with a walkthrough of the existing website so that they could get a good picture of the state that everything was in at that point. We shared access to our environment and the business requirements document that laid out what we were looking to accomplish with the project.

Their team did some preliminary research and then came back to us with guidance on how they wanted to approach the work. They used Azure DevOps for the whole build cycle and worked through the project using sprint methodology.

The site itself is a hybrid based on the .NET platform. It utilizes the bootstrap framework for the architecture of the site itself. The app is built for both Android and iOS using our website's native script presentation platform combined with Angular and bytescript.

What is the team composition?

Peter (Project Manager) was our main point of contact, but we also interacted with their lead developer and his team of about three others.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $200,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in October 2019 and we are continuing to finish up the work.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So far, we are very happy with the way the design and development process has gone. They were able to provide all the functionality requirements we requested of them, and the project is now in the QA and user testing phase with a planned pilot in the second or third week of April.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

They have been pretty good at communicating how their time is being utilized on a weekly basis. We have daily status calls, and they always make sure they have hours overlapping with ours despite the time difference so that we can stay up to date. For smaller things in between calls, we tend to communicate mostly by email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their skillset is definitely a huge plus. They have website and device experts who have worked in all kinds of technologies and have a broad range of experiences. We are a small team, and device app development is a completely new area for us, so we have benefited significantly from being able to learn while working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could've utilized testing tools to reduce the number of defects.

**Feedback Summary**: The platform already has a couple of hundred users and has received positive feedback. Accedia possesses an excellent spirit and company culture. Their technical expertise and willingness to learn new things set them at the forefront of technology. They've made collaboration seamless.
"“Accedia delivers on time and according to our requirements. They’re living up to our expectations.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Thomas Concrete Group. We’re an independent and family-owned group producing and distributing high-quality, ready-mixed concrete to both commercial and private customers. We participate in building many advanced projects and operate in the US, Germany, Poland, and Sweden. We have around 2,500 employees at the moment, working internationally.

I work at the mother company of all our daughter companies on the local market. I’m a business development analyst, so my role is to identify areas of improvement in ways of working, additional services, or digital solutions we can provide to our customers. I’m most often responsible for leading many of our development projects.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

During the last two years, we’ve been working on establishing a so-called business collaboration platform on which to provide different kinds of digital services to our clients. We had the goal of establishing a model web portal and mobile app where we could share different kinds of information with our customers. This was all in order to make our collaborations easier and more efficient.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Accedia developed our app for iOS and Android. It has push notifications and a fingerprint-signing functionality.

What is the team composition?

We’ve had a team of 3–4 people working on different services as well as a project manager. The team composition has varied, but we’ve tried to keep the same people.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

Essentially, we were looking for a partner with experience with Microsoft Azure products and native app development. We received a recommendation to consider working with Accedia. In the end, we decided to go ahead with them and utilize their services.

Our team visited them in Sofia, Bulgaria and met their management team. During this visit, we saw they had a very good spirit and company culture, which matched well with ours. We also saw that they had very good technical skills and a willingness to learn new things. Accedia wants to be at the forefront when it comes to technology and what it's used for, as do we. Overall, it was a very good match.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $100,000–$250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Accedia in April 2019, and our partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We already have a couple of hundred users on the collaboration platform and feedback has been very good. From my perspective as the person directly working with the Accedia team, I’m very happy with their work.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

Accedia is very good at delivering on time, and they have a great project management style. We’re using Microsoft Teams as our communication channel. They always keep track of what’s been done and what’s left to do. It’s easy to have a good collaborative partnership with them. We speak the same language, and they’re always willing to help out with technical questions. It’s very important for us to have that kind of technical skill from our consultants.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Accedia delivers on time and according to our requirements. They’re living up to our expectations. Their team works toward fulfilling our business requirements, and they’re the ones with the technical understanding to do that. We do the business analysis work, and they help us realize the technical implementations needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s important for the development team we’re working with to have an understanding of the business case and how the end-user is going to use the service we’re developing. That’s something we could communicate better and Accedia could improve on.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

One thing I’ve seen as a big advantage is trying to keep the same team members. We’ve mainly worked with the same people for quite a long time now, and every new project we start is easier. Our teams know how to communicate how everything should work. It’s very easy to work and collaborate together.

Team consistency is also good because the people we’re working with know the solution, so it’s easier for them to build new services upon the platform. However, if we bring in new people, they’ll have to learn our solution and technology. It’s more efficient to keep the same team.

Another important point is to get a good project manager from their team. We’ve had a very good project manager who’s made everything successful.

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a salon point of sales software company and I'm the director of product.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

We needed a web-based report viewer able to display business metrics in a browser for our users.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They built a viewer tool from the ground up for us to be able to display our own reports and provided the framework using Kendo UI. We had a design they worked from, but they offered suggestions to improve them based on their expertise with the too. They were able to tell us what was possible and give us some features we didn't know we could use. We worked closely with them to organize the work into sprint deliverables.

What is the team composition?

We had a project manager and two developers.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

We reached out to the company that owns Kendo directly. They recommended Accedia directly.

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested $25,000 – $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in December 2019, and we wrapped up in January 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They met every deliverable on time, which was great. They designed to our MVP specifications. When they finished everything we asked for, they were able to recommend some add-on features to include in our overall timeline. It'll definitely enhance our product for end-users. We haven't released it into production yet, but we plan to in the next couple of weeks.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

They're outstanding. They worked with us in daily standups, were always organized and prepared, and had completed their assignments prior to the call. They communicated very well with our team and gave very good descriptions of the work they'd completed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their organization really stands out, in addition to their exceptional knowledge of the product they were working with. They were really able to take our idea, run with it, and make it better. While other outsourced companies tend to deliver what you ask, they helped us take our product to a higher level.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I really can't think of anything. They're the best outside team we've hired.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to know what you want beforehand, which is always important to do. Definitely be willing to let them guide you with their expertise.

**The Review** — Feb 19, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Throughout their ongoing partnership, internal stakeholders have felt Accedia's consulting work has been integral to their growth. The team is highly communicative, manages the distance well, and functions as an extension of the internal team.
""The most important things are team competency and the quality of their work, which have generally been quite good."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Siili Solutions Oyj is a modern independent software integrator and developer of digital services. Siili creates next, better versions of its clients' products and services. Since its founding in 2005 Siili has grown rapidly and profitably to occupy offices in multiple cities across Europe and US.

My responsibility as a Sourcing Director is to select and manage qualified subcontractor partners to work with Siili employees in Siili's customer projects.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Accedia?

We have a continuous challenge of growth finding right competence at right time to serve our customers. To speed up growth we have used hand picked subcontracting partners in addition to our own personnel both onsite in Finland and from abroad successfully already over a decade.

What were your goals for this project?

Accedia's experts have been involved mainly in our CMS and Automotive customer projects. Involved technologies have been e.g. .NET, C#, Sitefinity content management, JavaScript, React, Java and Microsoft MDS. Solutions in question include customer portal, logistics solution and an MDM solution.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We have been working with other Sofia-based companies in certain selected technologies for several years. We were looking for possibilities to further strengthen our network in Bulgaria some years ago and found Accedia.

When meeting them we got a positive impression on their ability to execute, quality process and readiness for partnership. As soon as we had suitable customer project we hired first consultant and have been growing their Siili team since that.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Accedia's consultant participate in projects which do not require onsite presence at end customers' premises. Their roles are various agile software project member roles - just as ordinary Siili employees.

Projects include sales, development and maintenance projects. In some projects part of (Siili) team is onsite customer, in some projects all development is done remotely.

What was the team composition?

Projects have involved between total of 5 to 15 project members, typically only 1 or 2 of them at the time have been Accedia's consultants.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

All contractors are essential to Siili's success and growth. Accedia's consultants have also filled their positions very well and ensured our continuity with our key customers.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Accedia's consultants work under Siili's project management as project resources in individual customer projects. On top of that, we have a lightweight management procedure over Accedia's services to us as a whole.

Finland and Bulgaria share same time zone but are otherwise located almost furthermost from each other in whole Europe so physical meetings happen only occasionally. Main common tools are Slack, Git, Jira, Trello. Working language is English.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Accedia's strength is their apparent experience in working as a contractor with foreign customers. They seem to have right-sized management procedures; they are big enough to have quite good processes in place but small enough to be still somewhat flexible and agile.

The most important things are team competency and the quality of their work, which have generally been quite good.

Are there any areas for improvement?

In some cases more proactivity and initiative would be welcomed but generally there's little to complain. I have been quite satisfied so far with Accedia's consultants' ability and attitude.

**The Review** — Jun 5, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Accedia’s initial guiding document has proven beneficial in identifying potential areas for improvement and reaffirming strong practices. Although the time difference poses some challenges, the team remains patient, responsive to inquiries, and eager to strengthen communication lines.

"“They’re knowledgeable about their work, and we know that we can ask them for guidance.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a web developer for a technology enterprise that creates microcontrollers and other hardware. I’m part of a small team that manages our entire company’s website.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

At the time, we encountered some challenges upgrading our Sitefinity site from version eight to 10. We wanted to make sure that we were doing things with the best practice in mind, ensuring that we created the modules and widgets correctly and tackling our growing backlog. As a result, we needed a consulting firm to help us manage our tasks and provide some direction.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The first process that they delivered was a roadmap that helped guide us through the site migration. The document advised us on how to set up various aspects of the site, including our servers, databases, projects, and recovery point objectives (RPOs). Afterward, they reviewed our site to ensure that we were following strong procedures and identified anything that needed to be upgraded. Not only did this help us optimize our site, it gave us a sense of direction. For example, I had implemented an image optimization module but wasn’t sure if it was the best way to approach the task. With Accedia’s plan and review, I confirmed that I was on the right path, which was good reinforcement.

Currently, they’re supporting us with tasks on our backlog. One of the projects that they’re assisting us with is a guided navigation function. We provided an initial document of requirements, which they’ve fulfilled. However, the document wasn’t completely detailed, so we didn’t think that the final outcome would be useful to our customers. As such, we’ve created an in-depth technical document with all of our requirements, and they’re working on it, now.

What is the team composition?

We work with two dedicated engineers and a project manager, who is our regional point of contact. They also have four developers on call who support the engineers if one of them is away.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

Our key account manager referred us to them along with a few other consultancies. My boss researched the firms and talked to them before deciding to go with Accedia.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $50,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work began in January 2018 and is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve found their first guiding document to be extremely helpful. We’re able to assess our current practices to see if we need to make adjustments or if we’re already doing what’s best for us. They also help us tackle our bigger projects, which has alleviated our workload considerably. As of recent, we’ve started to have weekly meetings with them. It’s been a slow start to set this up, but we appreciate that they’ve been patient with us.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

They send us weekly reports about the status of their work, which has been beneficial for us. They’ve also expressed a strong desire to communicate more with us. While the time difference can be a little challenging, they’re pretty good at responding to our emails. If we have any concerns, we have a set email address where we can send questions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

While I can’t compare them to other consulting agencies, everything seems to be going really well. I’ve met some of the team, and it’s nice to know that they’re working to help us. They’re knowledgeable about their work, and we know that we can ask them for guidance. Rather than just doing the work, it’s important that they’re also able to teach us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would help us a lot if their engineers could visit us. That way, we could talk to them face-to-face instead of through email or over the phone. It’s a better communication tactic and would help us work with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be organized with your work so that it’s easier to communicate your needs. You’re paying for their services, after all. If you don’t have everything together, they’ll have to wait to help; it’s a waste. If there was one thing I would have changed, I would’ve probably wanted to be more organized in the beginning.

**Feedback Summary**: As a result of Accedia's work, the company has been able to keep existing clients satisfied and create profitable new relationships. The agency earned praise for their quick turnarounds, collaborative attitude, and focus on building a trusting, productive partnership.

""Accedia has brought us back additional work."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the Manager of professional services at a software company that builds a famous database. Many large companies across all verticals run on our database. I originally came from a Bulgarian company that offers software tools for web, mobile, desktop and mobile cross platform application development. That company was acquired by my current company in 2014. I run all of the professional services within the dev tools organization which includes anything from training to fully developing applications, staff augmentation, architecture reviews, and business analysis.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?
We use an extensive network of partners to deliver our professional services work. While we do have a team in house, we created a subcontracting model as our work grew tremendously. We originally had to deliver a big project for a multinational real estate organization. We needed a development company who could manage the large amount of work which included UI/UX work, business analysis, development, testing, and then ultimately deploy it out to the customer. We choose to work with Accedia to deliver the software and it worked out really well. Our relationship has grown from there.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
When we get a potential opportunity, we will bring Accedia on board to scope out the work. They will quickly assign a technical resource so we can determine what is needed to complete the project. Typically, this process is done in either hours or days. From there, the technical team will complete the analysis for the customer and begin developing the software. This involves creating mockups and wireframes, UI/UX work, and development, testing, and the transitioning it to the customer. The best way to build a business relationship is to start transitioning the software to the customer. Accedia has a great development team that will start teaching the customer what they’ve done so the client can ultimately manage it.
What is the team dynamic?
We work directly with Plamen Koycehv, one of the founders at Accedia for scheduling and scoping. He is our liaison at Accedia to manage the development teams and additional resources. We also work directly with Tihomir Todorov and one of the other managing partners Dimitar Dimitrov for anything that the business related such as the contract negotiation
How did you come to work with Accedia?
We found them through proximity. Accedia is down the street from the Telerik headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria.  Many former Telerik employees work at Accedia, so there's a good symbiotic relationship between the two companies.
What is the status of this engagement?
They started working for us in about May of 2014.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Accedia has brought us back additional work. We receive a lot of repeat business, which I believe is the biggest indicator that we've had a successful engagement along the way because it shows our clients trust us and Accedia. For example, Accedia built what equates to Instagram for a global professional association. That client has since contacted us repeatedly and to bring Accedia back to help them with expanding the software and making changes.
How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a really good relationship. It has been very open and very clean. We meet once a week discuss all the opportunities, which allows us to focus on a target. This is really efficient. We use Skype phone to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their lead time is amazing. Accedia can put a team on a project in two to three business days after we sign a contract. Sometimes we have to start with one developer, but then we ramp up over the next couple of weeks. On my end, this is awesome because I often have to be reactive to issues that come up from customers.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Our customers’ first question when there is a fire is always about the cost of the fix. It was hard to get ballpark figures out of Accedia.  Understandably, you don’t want commit to work unless you understand all the variables.  We worked together to come up with a plan to resolve this. We now just get a developer on task quickly to figure out the level of effort.  It’s a small investment from the customer to really understand the effort needed for the work. Once the developer has completed the analysis, we have a much better-educated guess on timing and cost for our clients.

**The Review** — Aug 4, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Accedia has helped iterate on the app quickly and establish product market fit. They’re a highly productive team that not only fixes bugs, but responds to user feedback and delivers new results consistently. Accedia is professional and efficient, and they act as an extension of internal teams.
""Accedia has been great, from the NDA agreement to the invoicing, project management, and issue-handling.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Meetzoo is a startup Software-as-a-Service [SaaS] business. We provide a backend platform and app for users, with a goal of transforming the way in which people interact during business meetings. We’re connecting people’s existing calendars to social media within our collaboration platform, allowing them to have better continuity and thought-connection during meetings.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Accedia?

Accedia led the development of our SaaS with a native iOS app with an AWS backend, that provides a collaboration platform built using Node.js and a RDS/MySQL service. They inherited MVP code and put together a secure, stable product while also releasing important new features.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with a technical architect from their side, who handled product design. We were developing exclusively for the iOS platform at that point in time. The backend was an Amazon Web Services-hosted infrastructure [AWS] using Node.js for the web services platform. We were using Amazon Relational Database, which is essentially a MySQL service. Accedia needed to put together an infrastructure which was both secure and multitier, making sure that we met things like the OWASP [Open Web Application Security Project] best practices around the web services and database. The platform also needed to be scalable, with an N+1 redundancy application server, making sure that the application was essentially stateless across app servers.

This is strictly a backend service—the collaboration platform which all the apps talk to, and use to exchange data. The frontend was simply an app, but there were a couple of web interfaces, namely a password reset form, email initiation pages, and so on. There is no main web UI; it’s simply a native mobile app with a SaaS backend.

How did you come to work with Accedia?

I’ve worked with other outsourced companies, from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic as well as India. My personal preference is always to near-source in Eastern Europe, and I’ve generally had good experiences with these countries as not only is their English very good, but there is a great cultural fit too and staff retention is high.

I came across Accedia after making inquiries in my previous business about a JavaScript framework called Kendo UI. I asked the manufacturer of this framework, a company called Telerik (which has now been acquired by Progress Software), if they could provide experts who could help us evaluate whether Kendo UI would be a right choice for us. They provided the name of Accedia as an expert team. I was very impressed with them and the work they did for me, so, when I later on had an opportunity to outsource for my new startup, they were my choice.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost is in the region of $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Accedia in October 2016. The project is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had a very positive reception to the app. One of the key things in the early stages of a startup business, when it’s establishing product market fit, is to quickly iterate the app. While Accedia allowed us to release an app to the store in April 2017, we continue to release new features every month, which is amazing.

We continue to release products, which is amazing. Fixing bugs is one thing, but it’s something else to listen to the user community, and provide enhancements and differentiated features, based on their feedback. I’ve never had such a high-productivity team.

How did Accedia perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve had a personal relationship and direct contact with everyone on the team, which was vitally important. I’ve worked with businesses which operated as black boxes, which I found disconcerting. What was great about Accedia was that they were an extension of my own team, with no differentiation between my employees and theirs. I knew each one of them, and spoke to them every day.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked with much larger companies than Accedia, as well as with smaller companies. What a client looks for is dependent on the size of their own business. If I had a huge company, I may have very different requirements than if I were a small startup. Personally, I want a company which appreciates my business, and which views the revenue as a large-enough aspect of what they’re doing. This was a part of my choice when going for a group the size of Accedia, but I equally didn’t want a company so small as to not have the professional attitude and support required.

When outsourcing, we’re not just outsourcing 2-3 developers, a tester, and a project manager, we’re outsourcing all other parts of management. Accedia clearly has great competencies, between the technical side, the commercial side, and the project management. Each of these is done professionally and efficiently.

I’ve dealt with companies in the past which, although great technically, didn’t invoice on time, or didn’t follow things up properly. Accedia has been great, from the NDA agreement to the invoicing, project management, and issue-handling. I know it can be tough for small, growing businesses to do, but, whatever Accedia is doing, they’re doing it right.

Are there any areas they could improve?

From a customer point of view, I would like to see more evidence of a mentoring culture within their company. Like any business, Accedia will have very experienced people at the top, but, as they grow, they will have to bring in more young and inexperienced members, and train them. I believe this does happen, but it’s not transparent from the customer’s perspective. I would quite like to know if, for example, they have a weekly triage of my project with the gurus within the company, perhaps producing a report on what they’ve thought about. I’ve never come across a company with this approach, but, if anyone could do it, Accedia would be the one.

Please describe your company and position.I am the Business Development Manager of a consulting company.Describe what your company does in a single sentence. Our start-up is pioneering a proof of concept for the e-commerce sector, aiming to utilize artificial intelligence to personalize shopping experiences and streamline operations.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What specific goals or objectives did you hire Accedia to accomplish? We engaged Accedia with the objective of developing a proof of concept that demonstrates the potential of AI in transforming e-commerce through: • An AI-driven recommendation engine to personalize product suggestions.• Intelligent search capabilities to improve accuracy and relevance of search results.• A prototype of an analytics dashboard for insights into consumer behaviour and market trends.

**SOLUTION**
How did you find Accedia?ReferralWhy did you select Accedia over others?Great culture fitGood value for costHow many teammates from Accedia were assigned to this project?2-5 EmployeesDescribe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables. The scope of our work with Accedia was to conceptualize and develop a proof of concept for our e-commerce platform, which was no small feat. We aimed to integrate artificial intelligence across various facets of the platform to enhance the shopping experience fundamentally. This project was ambitious, seeking not just to test theoretical applications of AI in e-commerce but to lay down a practical foundation for its real-world implementation. At the heart of our collaboration was the development of two key AI-driven features: a personalized recommendation system and intelligent search functionality. The recommendation system was designed to analyse user behaviour and preferences to suggest products that they are more likely to be interested in, making every user's shopping experience uniquely tailored to their tastes and previous interactions. Meanwhile, the intelligent search feature was built to understand and predict customer queries, going beyond basic keyword matching to provide more relevant and accurate search results. To bring these concepts to life, Accedia's team undertook the task of collecting and pre-processing relevant data, designing the AI and machine learning models, and integrating these models into a user-friendly interface that could be seamlessly incorporated into our existing e-commerce platform. This process involved rigorous testing and refinement to ensure that the tools were not only effective but also reliable and easy to use.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? The deliverables from this project were quite comprehensive: A fully functional AI-driven recommendation engine, complete with a backend that processes user data to create personalized shopping experiences. An intelligent search tool capable of understanding natural language queries and providing accurate search results, enhancing the overall usability of our platform. Detailed documentation on the architecture and functionality of the developed systems, ensuring that our team could understand, maintain, and further develop these tools. Training sessions for our staff, conducted by Accedia, to familiarize them with the new systems and empower them to leverage these tools effectively in their day-to-day operations.Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?Accedia's approach to project management was notably structured and responsive, which played a big part in the smooth progress of our project. They had a clear, organized way of handling tasks and milestones, and communication was a strong point throughout. They were pretty good at keeping things on track. Deadlines were treated seriously, and for the most part, deliverables arrived right when we expected them to. Of course, in a project of this nature, there were a few instances where adjustments had to be made, but even then, Accedia was upfront and proactive about managing any delays. They kept us in the loop, explaining what was happening and how they planned to address it, which really helped keep any hiccups from turning into headaches. Where Accedia really shined was in their responsiveness to our needs. They didn’t just stick rigidly to a set plan; they listened. When we had feedback or needed tweaks to the tools being developed, they were on it. Their team was quick to understand what we were after and flexible enough to adapt their work to better suit our requirements. This kind of adaptability made a big difference, ensuring the end product was something that really worked for us. Their project management wasn’t just about ticking boxes; it felt like they were genuinely invested in making sure the project succeeded for us, not just on paper, but in real, practical terms. They made it clear from the start that they were there to support our goals, and they backed that up with their actions, whether that was in sticking to timelines or adjusting plans to better meet our needs. What was your primary form of communication with Accedia?Virtual MeetingWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company?Accedia's genuine commitment to understanding our unique needs and adaptability stood out. It's not just that they have a deep well of expertise in AI and machine learning—which they do—but it's how they applied that knowledge to our specific context that made a difference. Are there any areas for improvement or something Accedia could have done differently?Reflecting on the entire journey with Accedia, from the initial planning stages through to the completion of our project, it's hard to pinpoint areas where I'd suggest significant changes. Their adaptability, expertise, and the way they tuned into our specific needs were spot-on. When you work on projects of this nature, you quickly realize the value of a partner who not only brings technical prowess to the table but also a genuine commitment to understanding and aligning with your goals. Accedia did just that.

## Portfolio & Awards

### Reshaping Digital Lending for Castle Trust Bank
Accedia partnered with Castle Trust Bank to design, build, and continuously evolve OmniPort — a personal loan origination platform powering the bank's retail finance operations across a network of over 2,000 retailers in the UK.
Castle Trust had a clear challenge: scale its lending operations without compromising efficiency, security, or customer experience. As the bank expanded into new financial products and onboarded more retail partners, it needed a robust, adaptable platform to keep pace.
Over a 10-year engagement, Accedia delivered across multiple areas of the solution. Automated credit decisioning enabled the platform to process over 200,000 lending decisions per year, with approximately 80% of customers receiving a fully automated loan decision within minutes. To strengthen security, Accedia integrated an AI-powered identity verification solution using computer vision technology and developed a proof of concept for a real-time, predictive fraud detection system.
On the retailer side, Accedia built flexible integration options — from API-based connections for full customization to out-of-the-box widgets for fast deployment — ensuring seamless onboarding for partners with different technical needs. A fully automated customer satisfaction management system replaced previously manual order fulfilment processes, improving accuracy and reliability across the board.
As market demands shifted, Accedia helped Castle Trust expand into Buy Now, Pay Later financing, crafting a new customer journey with intuitive interfaces and advanced credit calculations. The team also handled several regulation-driven updates, embedding Consumer Duty standards mandated by the FCA directly into OmniPort's core operations.
By 2024, Castle Trust's consumer credit assets reached £210 million — supported by a platform built to scale, adapt, and deliver.

### Accedia Helps Alexforbes Navigate the Two Pot Reg
Alexforbes is a diversified financial services company founded in 1935, offering retirement, healthcare, investment, and wealth management solutions across African markets. Accedia has been a long-term technology partner, contributing Software Development, QA, UI/UX Design, and Engineering Management across multiple platforms and initiatives.
In September 2024, South Africa introduced the Two Pot Retirement System — one of the most significant legislative changes in the country's retirement landscape. The regulation restructured how contributions are split and accessed, requiring financial institutions to adapt a wide network of interconnected systems under tight and shifting deadlines.
Accedia worked alongside Alexforbes teams to align key platforms with the new requirements. This included updates to the core pension and investment management system, enabling customers to clearly track their funds across the savings, retirement, and vested pots, while backend changes enforced withdrawal rules and maintained data consistency. The centralized financial services hub was also adapted to handle real-time updates while remaining compliant and easy to use. Beyond these, Accedia contributed to updates across the mobile application, retirement fund management platform, and several shared services used company-wide.
The rollout involved dozens of teams, months of coordinated planning, and multiple dress rehearsals to sequence deployments correctly and manage cross-platform dependencies. Following go-live, Accedia participated in a post-launch hyper-care phase — monitoring performance, diagnosing unexpected behaviors, and stabilizing the updated systems.
The successful implementation ensured full regulatory compliance and reinforced Alexforbes' position as a trusted, agile financial partner across the markets it serves.

### Bearing Assist: How SKF Transformed Bearing Mainte
SKF is a global leader in bearing manufacturing and rotating equipment performance, headquartered in Sweden and present in 130 countries through more than 17,000 distributors. Accedia partnered with SKF in 2022 to rebuild their Bearing Assist mobile application - transforming it from a static product catalogue into a guided maintenance tool for field technicians. SKF needed a software development partner who could lead product delivery, clarify direction through research, and make decisive choices quickly. Accedia provided an autonomous, cross-functional Scrum team - combining a Product Owner, UI/UX Designer, Technology Lead, iOS and Android Engineers, Backend Developers, QA Specialists, and DevOps Engineers - operating as an extension of SKF's product organization rather than a traditional outsourcing vendor. The team began with product discovery, user research, and competitor analysis. Since direct research with less experienced technicians was difficult, Accedia instrumented the app to capture usage patterns, redesigned in-app feedback mechanisms, and gathered input from service centers and field teams. In parallel, the team modernized the technical foundations - replacing outdated frameworks, establishing a design system, behavior-driven testing, and CI/CD pipelines. The rebuilt Bearing Assist guides technicians through step-by-step mounting and dismounting workflows, prompts measurement recording with tolerance warnings, and saves completed jobs to a traceability journal. A conversational AI agent grounded in SKF's technical documentation helps technicians access the right instructions fast. Teams can collaborate via shared notes and photos, and export completed workflows as PDF reports. SKF's own service technicians now treat Bearing Assist as a standard prerequisite for quality-assured bearing replacements - and the application directly supports SKF's sustainability goals by extending bearing li

### Vet-AI: Scaling Digital Veterinary Care
Vet-AI is disrupting the £100 billion veterinary market by making professional pet healthcare accessible, affordable, and convenient through the Joii Pet Care application - combining telemedicine with purpose-built AI to connect pet owners with licensed vets via video or chat, anytime.By the end of 2023, Vet-AI faced a critical inflection point: its existing technology stack had become complex, unstable, and increasingly incompatible with essential platforms like Shopify and key partner integrations. With four months to deliver a robust, scalable replacement and pressure to secure new investment, Vet-AI needed deep technical expertise and rapid execution.Accedia quickly assembled a dedicated team of nearly twenty engineers spanning frontend, backend, mobile, and DevOps. Together, the teams replaced the legacy system under a tight deadline and stabilized the new platform - resulting in a twenty-fold increase in release velocity, from quarterly rollouts to multiple feature updates every week. With the core platform secured, Accedia integrated symptom-checker APIs, streamlined diagnostic workflows, and built out Vet-AI's Trial Management System, enabling the recruitment of up to 1,000 clinical trial participants in six weeks, cutting trial costs by 40%, and keeping participant drop-off below 3% after onboarding. Notification logic was redesigned to prevent missed appointments, and Shopify supplier integrations were completed despite lagging third-party APIs.To date, the platform has supported 400,000 consultations and 850,000 symptom-checker sessions, making Joii Pet Care one of the UK's most trusted pet healthcare applications. Its modular design lets Vet-AI onboard new clinic, insurer, or marketplace partners in just hours, without re-architecting core systems.

### Unified Data Platform for Andaria’s Fintech Growth
Andaria is a UK- and EU-regulated fintech providing embedded finance solutions to non-financial businesses, supporting over 50 partnerships, 25+ currencies, and 99.99% platform uptime. As the company entered its next growth phase, it needed to move beyond a fragmented landscape of ERP exports and Excel-based reporting - and build a centralized data platform capable of supporting strategic decision-making at scale.
Before working with Accedia, Andaria had no dedicated analytics infrastructure. Data was spread across spreadsheets, reporting relied on manual extraction and reconciliation, and building reliable predictive models on top of such a fragmented foundation was practically impossible. With no in-house data science team, Andaria needed an experienced partner to design a solution that was scalable, affordable to maintain, and grounded in how the business actually worked.
Accedia began with a deep analysis of Andaria's existing data landscape, mapping ERP structures to real-world processes and surfacing the informal business logic embedded in Excel reports. After evaluating several Azure-native options and running proof-of-concept implementations, Accedia recommended Azure Databricks as the core processing platform, supported by complementary Azure services for storage, integration, security, and orchestration.
The resulting platform consolidated data from the ERP, multiple financial Excel sources, and third-party systems into a single, unified data model. Accedia worked across Finance, Product, Business Development, and Marketing teams to translate scattered rules and local knowledge into explicit, shared logic - then built dashboards that became a primary source of insight for day-to-day operations. Automation was layered on top, covering pipeline monitoring, year-end statement generation, and a fully automated monthly invoicing process for Andaria's partner billing service. Finance now operates with less manual effort, month-end activities are more predict

### AIcademy: AI-Powered Personalized Learning Platfor
AIcademy is an AI-powered personalized learning platform built by Accedia to transform how students learn and how teachers prepare — designed specifically for primary and secondary education in European schools, with GDPR-aligned data protection built in from day one.
The core challenge was delivering trusted AI outputs and reliable workflows for two very different users: students who need clear progress tracking and adaptive guidance, and teachers who want to reduce preparation workload without losing control over what reaches the classroom. Accedia addressed both through a deliberately hybrid AI approach — combining GPT-based generative capabilities with platform-level pedagogical controls, grounding outputs in approved educational sources and enforcing behavior guardrails appropriate for school environments.
For students, the platform generates lesson summaries, flashcards, multiple-choice questions, event timelines, and an AI chat assistant for real-time support. A personalization engine builds an evolving learner profile from performance and interaction signals, adapting content to each student's pace, strengths, and gaps. For teachers, the platform streamlines lesson preparation, surfaces performance insights, and keeps educators in full control — AI accelerates content creation, but teachers review and approve materials before classroom use.
The UX/UI process followed an iterative, research-led approach — from low-fidelity wireframes through usability testing with real students and teachers, A/B testing, and a Figma-based design system built for long-term scalability. Engineering was delivered in two-week Agile sprints, with infrastructure as code via Terraform and full environment separation across development, staging, and production.
The platform is built on Azure-native services for AI, identity, and storage, with a Flutter/Dart frontend, C# and Python backend, and Azure OpenAI Service at its core.
