Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a marketing writer and content manager at ivia — a SaaS product that automates basic operations for logistics and supply chain businesses. I am responsible for UX content, social media strategy, product guide articles, and script writing for marketing campaigns.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Zelh.Tech, and what were your goals?

While the marketing team was working on the promotion of the web platform and the development team was focused solely on platform maintenance, ivia product owners wanted to expand the product's functionality with a new application for carriers. We needed more designers and mobile app developers to make an app without process interruptions.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were recommended zelh.tech by our partners who had recently developed a website with this company. Our key requirements for a vendor were sticking to our project's timeframe and budget. We expected to get 2 mobile app developers and 2 more designers that will be of higher expertise to translate the platform's main features to the application.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Since I'm responsible for applications UX content and I know the product well, I was present on the initial call with zelh. After describing our goals and coming to an agreement in terms of the service cost and deadlines, they provided us with the required number of specialists with their management included. They integrated one IOS developer, one android developer, and two web designers, with whom I communicated at the prototyping stage. First, the designers prepared a mockup of the main app screens that I filled with content in the Figma document they provided.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

As I mentioned before, our team was augmented with an IOS developer, an Android developer, and two web designers. I mostly cooperated with the designers, since prototyping implies UX writing. When the app prototypes got approved by our product owners, designers passed the documents to the developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

First off, we saved a ton of time on the hiring process. I myself know how much time it takes to hire a new team member, and we basically were just provided with 4 specialists at once. The main aim was to build an app without losing focus on the platform, and we achieved the goal way faster than if we were doing it within our company. From my perspective, it didn't feel like the designers were onboarded by a third party, they did a great job analyzing the visual language of our company.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We were communicating mostly via Slack and email. As far as I know, developers were working with our PMs in Jira. Management from zelh.tech was great, as it didn't feel like they weren't part of our actual team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Fast team integration surely left a good impression on me. I also loved the way they understood the visual logic and functionality of our product.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not sure if I can add anything from my side in here.
