Christina created a video that did a perfect job highlighting the features of the tool we launched, which was exactly what we wanted.

Christina was prompt, professional, and proactive. Not only did she deliver items on time; she was very patient regarding our wavering on things like design and tone, and she was quite proactive in anticipating our needs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Working with them is a dream. She is very good at gathering her clients' needs, tastes, preferences, and interests and distilling them into exactly the product they want (even when at first they're not even sure what would be best). Her turnaround is quick, her communication is active, open, and friendly, and she is overall a pleasure to work with. We look forward to having an opportunity to work with Christina again!

I’m the parish administrator for St. Andrews Episcopal, a religious and worship association.

What challenge were you trying to address with Yon and Yonder Studio LLC?

Someone had hijacked our old website, which prevented us from making any changes to it. We hired Christina (Founder & Creative Director) to get control of our site for us but she wasn’t able to do so. Hence, she developed a whole new site for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Christina took care of the entire project. We first showed her our old basic website so that she had a better idea of what we wanted on the new site and how we wanted it to look. We also provided her with some photographs and information that we wanted on the site. From there, she proceeded with the process, handling the development and design work from scratch using WordPress. She also helped with maintenance.

Our site is meant to help people who are new in town, are looking for a physical church, or are familiar with us and want to see what is currently happening within our association. All the key information is found on our site, including our schedule and contact information. It’s really a basic site that allows people to easily find us.

We only worked directly with Christina.

We found out about Christina through another organization that had used her services.

We worked together from April–May 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had a positive experience working with Christina, and a lot of people responded positively to our new site.

How did Yon and Yonder Studio LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Christina took any ideas we had and ran with them. She always helped us out and if she had any better ideas, she told us about them. Moreover, she was very responsive — whenever we sent her an email, she got right on it. We usually communicated with her through email and phone calls, and there was one time when she came into the office to do some training.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with Christina — she was always willing to do what we wanted and worked on it right away. She was also very easy to work with; we always understood everything she explained to us even though we weren’t that tech-savvy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that Christina could’ve done differently.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We definitely recommend working with Christina. We’ve actually recommended her to others already because she did a good job on our project.

I'm the CEO of a video production and marketing firm called MiniMatters Video + Marketing.

For what projects/services did your company hire Yon and Yonder Studio LLC, and what were your goals?

We hired Yon and Yonder Studio LLC to provide illustration and animation on a contract basis for several projects this past year (in addition to several the previous year). The highlight this year was a 4.5-minute hand-drawn animated video for a very sophisticated client, and others involved the creation of animations to supplement filmed training videos and highlight key educational points.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Yon and Yonder Studio LLC is the full package of BOTH art and animation skill, and they have been very flexible in being able to adapt to a variety of different projects and clients, always with a great attitude.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

For the 4.5-minute animated video Christina joined in our meetings with the client as well as separate meetings with myself and our scriptwriter. She came up with a schedule to fit the client's tight timeline and we worked to get her feedback in line with that schedule--and were successful in completing the project on time and to the client's satisfaction.

We initially spent a good deal of time on the lead character and supplemental characters, and once the client had signed off on those, Christina was rapidly able to generate scenes with those characters and backgrounds and then animate the final version after providing a rough animation for review. The design was absolutely wonderful - serious, yet warm and with a strong sense of storytelling.

For the other projects, I provided a list of needed animations, which Christina designed and refined - then I edited those in. She quickly came up with a cohesive design scheme for each, in line with the client's branding and strong in terms of its capacity for communication educational content clearly.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with Christina Mayes. She was always willing to revise to get something right. I found it especially effective to work with her as she's designing via Zoom, so that there's less back and forth. And she's happy to do this.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Clients have all been very happy and, in one case, the project funder was also very pleased with the quality of the work, which made the client extra happy. This also led to our firm getting additional work from that client.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Christina did a really good job when she laid out a timeline for the 4.5-minute animated video project. We shared that with the client and it proved a great structure for moving the project forward to successful completion. Christina and I generally email and she sends cuts/video files via Google Drive. She backs up the project files to our DropBox folder.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Christina is very, very talented and can do many different styles of illustration and animation. She's nice and flexible, and really pleasant to work with or have in a meeting with clients or other team members, which is also important to us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes missing a few details in a list of edits or requests, though she's always willing and quick to adjust/correct.
