Services. Vendor shall perform the following services for the Client with respect to software development (the “Project”): 

     Build an MVP solution to report car crashes with the following features: 

• A mobile app should allow the user to describe the incident by text or voice input.
• A mobile app should have geolocalization of the crash scene.
• A mobile app should allow the user to upload images of the car.
• Based on AI services, the solution should  analyse the user's report and detect the user's intentions.
• Based on AI services, the solution should analyse uploaded images and detect car damages
• The Insurance company should be able to upload original images of cars.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

All the deliverables, starting with the App, working for both platforms, and actually in both stores, the backend solution working amazingly and the cloud selection and administration during the project.

They were always on time and flexible to meet in the middle when we werent on the same page.

In the search for external solutions that could help us in that objective of setting up a team, Xside was an economical solution compared to the competition and provided an interesting collaboration model regarding how we could end up integrating the Xside team and the internal team in the flow of the day. day.

The stack was completely a JS stack using the latest technologies on the market. And the scope was to build products that were stipulated in the roadmap.

The greatest success was being able to put the first product into production within the timeline that we set for ourselves.

We worked with agile methodologies, relying on the SCRUM framework with 2-week sprints that helped us predictability and focus on tasks.

Influence a little on the technical level of the team so that solutions can be provided with a little more quality and more scalable.

I'm the owner and responsible for the administration of a software company, which has its own technological platform to comprehensively manage health institutions and specifically diagnostic imaging centers.

With Xside we started working more than 8 years ago looking for development support in the corrective and evolutionary development of our platform, and in 2014 we chose them to accompany us to develop the self-management website for patients of our platform, later we continued with the development of applications mobile and then we continue with multiple projects with different relationship modalities.

The relationship was born from a trusted contact with one of the directors of Xside at that time, but I believe that what made us continue moving forward and deciding on the next steps was the level of commitment to the business and delivery times.

Focusing on the most important project we carried out, which was the website for patient self-management, once we defined the main objectives of the project and what would be the business growth strategy that would have to be sustained, Xside was the main protagonist in proposing and help us choose the technology to use and the modeling of the platform objects.

Then we work on defining evolutionary development cycles that allow us to implement the product and move forward in a manner associated with the needs of our customers. The web development was done in .NET MVC and then the mobile product was built with iOnic and then with Xamarin.

In most projects, Xside provides us with the participation of a technical lead and one or two developers. We have been working with front-end, back-end and full stack specialists.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I consider that the most important characteristic that Xside had in the projects was the granularity in the analysis for the estimation of delivery times. This meant that the projects were never out of phase more than 15% of the time, no matter how difficult they have been to estimate.

Once the deliverables were defined, the risks to which they were subject were carried out together. And as a general methodology, Xside carried out its daily technical meetings internally and shared any clarification or definition required with our project leader. Jira was used as the primary tool for logging and tracking issues. At times when a need to move a date was detected, we were informed in sufficient time for us to analyze alternatives and communicate with the client.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most remarkable thing that we value about Xside is the responsibility in the final product, no matter what type of project it is. Their human quality to overcome in a consensual way the inconveniences that always occur in any project is top-notch!

Since we tackle several initatives at the same time we need to have easy access to technically savvy talent who can help us quick start the technical teams and evolve through all the maturity phases all our projects go through.

Since our first project with Xside they have proven critical to attain our goals by:

• being able to recruit and evaluate technical talent
• onboard team members on our team methodology, tech architecture and their specific roles.
• adjust their availability as the projects mature either reinforcing talent and/or onboarding own team members and phasing out their resources.
• drive solution architecture design for all our projects specific progress needs.

For all our projects we have a pre briefing by which we first share with Xside team overall business objectives, specific technical needs and together check if they have available resources to attend our needs or not in which case they drive a fast setup estimate.

Once we have agreed on the team roles needed and the timming for team setup we agree on the business rythm: supporting tools, methodology to follow, meeting schedules, etc. From there the assambled team (Xsides, ours and 3rd party) plans, iterates and checks the project evolution.

As for today we have a recurring team consisting of 1 architect, 2 front end developers, 3 back end developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have reducued project setup time in +30% and have been able to deliver all our projects right on quality and time.

We have weekly planning sessions for our 2W sprints and three stand-ups with the whole team to check project progress and tackle any issues (delays, unsolved issues, concerns). We use Slack, Jira and GIt to coordinate.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

All of XSide's management is technical savvy, assuring their solutions are top-notch and fit to purpose.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As it is usual with software development projects we always have bugs but given our agreed management process we have been able to easily triage and solve those on a timely basis. We have also had some minor issues with some allocated resources but have also been easily fixed with them by agreeing on the sourcing and followup processes.

Currently, we’re working with an architect from Xside on Java web development. They provide us with specialized resources and consulting and collaborate with us in projects related to website architecture.

We work with two web architects and some developers.

Our company has been collaborating with them for a long time. I believe our CEO knew their CEO, and that was how we first approached them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2007, and it’s a continuous collaboration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The last project was a great success. It was one of the biggest projects we’ve had as a company, so it was very important for us. We built a governmental website for which we created a solid frontend and tax system. The project was very well executed, and they provided us with great support, so we’ll continue choosing them for the following projects.

How did XSide perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicate via WhatsApp and email. They’ve delivered according to our expectations and always on time. That’s one of the reasons why we’ve collaborated with them for so long.

They’re very detail-oriented, responsible, and strict with deadlines.

Whenever something isn’t working right, we talk it over and correct it, so I wouldn’t know what to say.
