As a professional car wash network, Banieczka has introduced additional options and products, i.e., a windshield washer fluid distributor, support for many types of payment methods, loyalty programs and the ability to issue invoices online.

There were many goals we set in the project with X-ONE. One of them was to create a custom, intuitive Warehouse Management System, fully adjusted to difficulties of liquids management, which is crucial in the car wash industry. The system had to be integrated with the ERP solution that has been used in our organization for many years. It also had to have a feature that will support us in income estimations of each car wash based on the weather forecast. 

On top of that we needed a tool – mobile PWA application, to ensure seamless communication workflows between carriers, car wash managers and administration. Thanks to the well-designed application our managers are able to take inventory within a few clicks and if anything is missing order it right out of the app. All information are automatically sent into the WMS system, which is a knowledge center for employees.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

X-ONE delivered digital products that not only simplify the most important processes in our organization, but also prevents human mistakes, thanks to automation of previously carried and controlled manually operations. Furthermore, we have come up with a better approval path, that is possible due to implemented automation. 

Our employees can manage the supplies in an easy and fast way. We are also sure that no one will overlook any essential action in their daily work. If the chemicals are running low, an alert is sent to remind about placing an order, it even shows what is the minimal amount to order to ensure business continuity.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

They are not afraid of any challenge you put in front of them. We wanted to install liquid sensors in the barrels, but it was hard to find a right fit for what we wanted technology-wise as we needed to adjust sensors and its’ software to our needs, so it communicates with certain systems in the company. For this purpose, X-ONE have developed and made a prototype of measuring devices and software that saves the transmitted readings and just like that our need transformed into solution.

Our cooperation with X-ONE started in 2017. One of its’ main goals was to create custom IT solution for effective production management: from planning production, assigning, prioritizing orders, implementing the manufacturing process while monitoring it, to saving and utilizing historical data for future optimization. Thanks to event storming, we were able to express our needs, which X-ONE converted into system functionalities. 

That is how the work on the system began. To build a product that meets our needs, the software house team created a solution that integrates different areas essential to our business, such as an ERP-class system, cells and robotic production lines, a documentation repository, label printers, and a B2B platform. It enables us to manage production in an easier, more accurate, and automated way in many areas. 

Thanks to the system's automation, the time spent on many activities, such as valuation and preparation of offers or generating documentation, has been reduced to just a few minutes.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Previously we have relied on many systems that were not integrated with each other and part of the processes involved manual work. System created, designed and implemented by X-ONE solved those problems. It allows us to work in more efficient, productive way. 

It integrates not only with the ERP class system, but also communicates with production robots and uses tools such as barcode scanners, RFID readers, label printers, tablets with applications supporting production lines as well as warehouse and printers. Thanks to regularly collected data and automatically generated reports we are able to estimate our time and resources better than ever before.

The TWOJE SOCZEWKI brand focuses on contact lenses and all eye care products. The FAMILY OPTIC brand offers comprehensive optical care at the highest level and a large selection of prescription glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses from renowned brands.

Our cooperation with X-ONE started with a series of workshops in the "event storming" methodology. We were delighted with this way of working and the level of understanding of our needs. On this basis, a comprehensive e-commerce solution concept was created, covering not only technical issues, but also business processes. Then, after analyzing many e-commerce engines and following the recommendation of X-ONE, we decided to choose the scalable and flexible Shopware 6 platform. At the same time, graphic workshops were conducted, which allowed us to achieve the previously outlined effect. 

The implementation was carried out in agile methodologies (Scrum). We created a team together with X-ONE and every 3 weeks we assessed the increments. This way of working meant that we could evaluate and correct the effects of work almost on an ongoing basis. From the beginning of cooperation X-ONE team understood that our clients preferred diverse ways of purchasing their optic products. The crucial aspect was to provide them with the best shopping experience, regardless of their location according to omnichannel strategy we follow. If the client wishes to try on new glasses from the comfort of their couch, it is not a problem. 

They can utilize a virtual try-on that displays various color options and frame styles, mimicking an experience one would have in an optical salon. They have also programmed a virtual mirror, to provide an option to try on stationary unavailable products. To ensure that our clients never experience vision problems, we also enlisted the help of X-ONE to provide subscription services for both - our online and offline clients. Our onsite shopping assistants are now equipped with intuitive panels. Even if the client does not complete transactions at the spot - thanks to a QR code they can transfer all the selected items to a mobile device and carry on with an order later. To summarize, all the goals we set at the beginning were met and we continue the collaboration, as X-ONE maintains what we have already accomplished, helping us in new projects as well.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Family Optic is a new brand and everything in the project had to be created from scratch. We had a specific vision and strategy - we knew what we wanted: omnichannel, automation, easy-to-use intuitive and innovative systems, easier planning, etc. We achieved all this in cooperation with X-ONE. We have a comprehensive sales platform, implemented in the headless commerce architecture, focusing on PWA technology and the scalable and flexible Shopware 6 engine, integrating all sales channels in the omnichannel strategy. 

Together with X-ONE, we've revolutionized and unified the customer experience across all sales channels. Customers can start their adventure in one place and end it in another - without losing their saved progress. We have integrated systems working in the background, automating the work of the staff in many areas. We changed the rules of the game by showing how satisfied customers are generated.

First of all, X-ONE understands business. They think about architecture, technologies, etc., but focus on business needs. After a few meetings or workshops, they speak your business language. Interestingly, X-ONE does not simply meet your requirements, but actively looks for good solutions. They verify the assumptions, question the needs, adjust the requirements and I have the impression that this is how a good supplier of IT solutions should operate.

The project was managed in the SCRUM methodology. We were part of the team that implemented it. We actively and continuously influenced the effects and awareness of all problems. We could plan priorities and change assumptions. It just worked fine.

No, we are happy with the cooperation we sustain and the final result X-ONE delivered.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the COO of the largest company in Poland dealing with fruit delivery services to b2b non- HoReCa clients. Every month we deliver more than 10 000 orders to offices and production facilities. Additionally we opened a new distribution channel with deliveries to employees who are working from home offices – which multiplied the number of performed deliveries. Just for last Christmas we delivered more than 120 000 packages to peoples homes. This means tons of fruit, vegetables, juices and many different products.

For what projects/services did your company hire X-ONE?

We have reached a business scale which made it necessary to use IT tools for automation and optimization of processes - from order handling, through picking, planning and execution of deliveries, to settlements with customers and many more.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have chosen X-ONE after a detailed, long-lasting analysis of vendors. We were convinced by their approach to the client that helped them to understand our processes from the very beginning as well as the comprehensiveness of services including business process analysis, system, mobile applications and the selection and installation of devices like industrial tablets and thermal printers.

Last but not least, a very positive feedback from the market, keeping in mind that X-ONE already has some similar projects in their portfolio.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The project was a huge undertaking for us. We started with a detailed analysis of processes in the form of workshops lasting many weeks. After that the concept of the solution has been modeled with a wire-frame mockup design. This allowed us to build the scope of the project and divide it into stages.

Each stage was followed by a go-live – enabling the gradual use of the developed solutions. Used technologies: PHP, VUE.js and most probably others that we don't know. As the choice of technology was not particularly important to us, we relied on X-ONE recommendations.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

As far as we know about 10-12 people - project manager, solutions architect, analyst, ux and graphic designer, several programmers, serval testers - the team seemed to be quite big.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

First of all - using IT tools made our business scalable. We have improved and automated the handling of many processes thus leading to significant savings. To call up an example - settling accounts with clients used to take us about two weeks each month. Now they take several minutes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project was managed agile - every few weeks we got a piece of the system / application for verification. We were able to give our feedback on an ongoing basis. We have been cooperating using Redmine and Teams, so it was very flexible and the communication was running smoothly on both sides.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have the ability to understand and analyze the business processes taking place in our company and put them together in coding into front and back end- which is what we value the most in X-ONE.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As a customer, we would like to meet more often on site to do brainstorming sessions - unfortunately the pandemic made it impossible in the second stage of the project.
