On my side, I worked on and delivered a website design mock-up and all the content for the website (text and images). During this process, questions were solved with swift interactions. Once this was ready, we fine-tuned deliverables and a working calendar according to my needs. The team translated the design (seamless and up to the pixel) into WordPress.

Also, the team created a backend admin panel to ensure all content and website details are easily editable on my end. In this way, website management is sustainable over time. They also included and implemented technical recommendations to ensure top results and website reliable performance (i.e hosting).

I’m the founder and CEO of OpenBroker.com, a real estate technology company.

Our company’s main product was CRM software for real estate properties. It held plenty of property information in the database. The properties were displayed by real estate agents on their websites, which weren’t simply sub-domains of our website; they were entirely separate sites. 

However, the real estate agents didn’t know how to upload and download properties on their websites. As such, we needed DITS Potsdam to help with the development of a WordPress API plugin integration.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DITS Potsdam helped us craft an integration solution for our API to be incorporated into standard WordPress platforms. This way, we could amplify the distribution of real estate information to our partners. Our software should be able to communicate via the API with any WordPress website. It would then feed the information onto the site’s database, displaying properties. 

The goal was to allow our customers to create a website on WordPress by themselves as they displayed houses. Ideally, they could also upload properties onto our system in a simple way. In the end, DITS Potsdam’s deliverable was a readily coded WordPress plugin that connected to our API backend.

DITS Potsdam did well, and their performance was solid. It was difficult for us to find a professional online; most of those we hired before said they could do it, but they couldn’t. Meanwhile, more than 15 of our clients used the technology that DITS Potsdam coded, and that was a good success metric for us. 

How did DITS Potsdam Service UG perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was usually good. At times, timelines took longer than they expected. However, the team was upfront about it. They’d inform us well in advance if things were going to take a little longer. As a result, I was satisfied with their management. In terms of tools, they used Trello and Slack to communicate with us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Good help was hard to find because we were in a crowded market. Despite that, the DITS Potsdam team was readily available to communicate with us for this project, making them stand out. On top of that, they were willing to provide a free consultation before jumping into any proposals. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have a more consistent communication approach. Instead of sporadically communicating 4–5 times a day, they could set up regular check-ins. In fact, I tried setting up a 10 a.m., a 3 p.m., and a 7 p.m. check-in meeting with them. Overall, it would be nice if they could do this consistently. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust their process because they’re great developers. You don’t go to a doctor and tell him what medicine to give you; you find out what medicine you need. In your engagement with DITS Potsdam, hear them out. What they say is normally highly accurate, on point, and valuable.
