Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of the Black Business Association of BC, a nonprofit that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses in B.C., Canada.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Wojack Productions?

We were trying to give the spotlight to black entrepreneurs here in Canada.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wojack Productions provided video production services. They helped us interview black entrepreneurs and create highlight videos that talked about each entrepreneur’s journey, business, and aspirations. They produced around eight or nine live videos.

Their team also assisted with the scripts and storyboards for each video. During this process, we provided them with the concept and my vision and let them know what we wanted to see in the end. They would then create a vision board based on what we said. If I liked what they proposed, we went forward with it. Moreover, Wojack Productions helped us create an ad campaign featuring various members of our community and our organization itself.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 2–3 people from their team, including Sabrina (Founder & CEO), who was our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Wojack Productions?

They had reached out to us as an organization to look at the services we provided. I looked into their service offerings and decided we would like to use them for an upcoming campaign.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project from November 2021–July 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their videos was shown in the feedback we got from our social media followers. All of them said that they really liked how engaging our content was and how we showed transparency in depicting the life of each entrepreneur. Our followers were really drawn to our highlight videos and almost every post that we publish.

How did Wojack Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

They did okay in terms of meeting deadlines. If there were any delays, they would just let us know through email. We didn't use any project management tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very good at storytelling and creating storyboards that truly showcased whoever was being interviewed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Using a project management tool is something that they could really utilize as another platform for communication.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about the vision that you have so that they are able to write that into the story.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am an executive and business coach. I work with business owners at all stages of their business, whether they are launching a business or a long time business owner or executive.

For what projects/services did your company hire Wojack Productions, and what were your goals?

I wanted to gain new and fresh exposure to my coaching business through a video business card. The video or parts of the video can now be used on all of my social media platforms. The goal is to have new freedom in sharing my coaching business authentically and newly.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I discovered in a conversation with Sabrina the opportunity to have a video business she had created with another client and I was completely enrolled in the opportunity and excited and determined to have my own video business card.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

We started with a discovery meeting. How to set up my environment. How to be groomed. How to dress. She took me through the whole process step by step including the question asking and the video part of it. Really great.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked with Sabrina and the whole process was remarkable. Feedback was great and I was especially impressed of her ability to get me to step up my performance in front of the camera. I discovered new things about me and my business. Really great.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Even before a completed project the excitement around the project created new sharing and new promotion with people in my circles of influence and there have been requests to learn more about the opportunity for themselves. I was knocked back by the freshness of promoting the project created for me in sharing my business as I shared about the project.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Project management was remarkable start to finish. Structure. Clear steps. Weekly communication (and sometimes daily). I was aware of what was next all the way along the process. They were accessible, open, contribution and the experience was world class.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Communication, personality, contribution, care and attention, accountability, responsibility. They create a space of power and clarity for the client.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not much as far as I am concerned.
