Widelabs delivered a new vision for our brand that iterated on the existing visual language; this included a new variant for the existing logo and a new brand book (inc. new typography, color matrix, photography, illustration and iconography, and more). After executive approval, the team created a new website with over ten unique templates, multiple unique illustrations, and a new visual expression of our product architecture. 

The team also provided animation guidelines and continued to work with us on website expansion,post-launch.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The response to the new brand was amazing. It was highly praised by the internal team, existing customers, prospects, board members, etc. From a traffic standpoint, we saw a double-digit increase in time on-site and pages-per-visit. The new design also helped accelerate our content and SEO efforts, helping us to nearly double the size of our organic inbound traffic over the following quarter.

Going into the project, we had a clear plan of action, and every change in that plan was reflected in the project timeline - helping drive ongoing alignment. Most of the deliverables were provided on time, and when delays occurred, a new ETA was always clearly set. This helped manage the budget and expectations. 

Importantly for us, the project manager took time to understand the nuances of our product and target market and used that understanding to pull additional people into the project, that could help with specific tasks and deliverables (e.g., adding an illustrator to go over a specific hurdle or pulling in talent to visualize animations).

I was particularly impressed by the ability to provide a broad portfolio of talent and services, under one roof. From UX talent, that helped provide wireframes, to PM who took the time to understand our business, to multiple creatives - each with his/her unique expertise, Widelab always had us covered on all fronts.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Widelab could have done differently?

The initial timeline for the project was too aggressive, as the company didn't account for the complexity of our unique tech/market. I would encourage the team to be less aggressive with the initial estimation.

This has included a full dashboard redesign, improving existing functionality to improve the user experience, and expanding our platform to allow our clients to operate more types of service through our platform. They have developed deep expertise in the public transit market that has consistently helped us to quickly deliver a better platform.

Our client satisfaction with the administrative dashboard has improved throughout our partnership with Widelab, and while anecdotal, the challenges we hear that our clients face within our dashboard primarily come from the elements where we have yet to implement Widelab designs.

The project yielded a number of positive outcomes that demonstrate progress and success. One of the most notable outcomes was that it generated significant interest in our smart cart solution. This increased interest allowed us to share the data behind the solution in a more visual and impressive way, enabling us to engage with potential customers and partners more effectively.

Additionally, the new design of the cart monitor and dashboard were well received, resulting in improved usability and a more modern and professional look and feel. Overall, we believe the project was a success, and we are excited to continue building on the momentum generated by the exhibition.

The workflow between our team and theirs was highly effective. From the outset, we established clear communication channels and project timelines, which helped us to stay on track and avoid any potential bottlenecks. Contrary to all best practices, we had to start implementing the apps without ready-made designs. Despite this time pressure, after a short training period and a longer checkoff workshop, Widelab quickly delivered very good designs and within 3 months we had finished screen designs for all major flows in both Android and iOS app.

They closed partnership with my CEO, for a couple of Landing Pages. When we were ready to develop the whole website, there was no question that Widelab would continue to be the vendor for a bigger project. We started by having a conversation regarding brand and vision. Then how we would like to website to look, and all the functionalities, such as pop ups, videos, gifs, galery, icons etc. We shared a document with the copy, and simple but direct instructions for the designs.

They were independent and proactive into creating both the website and the design according to our requirements. After the first draft in FIGMA on how would the website would look like, we had another meeting, point out the changes we would like to have, and our communication shift to figma, until we were done with all the comments. After delivery, they continued with us for website updates. We have a great slack communication, and we keep updated.

We didn't have anything before in order to compare, this was the first website try.

It was according to what we wanted, which is "less is more". We communicate a lot more with quick responses communication such as slack and figma comments, than over zoom or meetings, and that fits the company style, and how we like to work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They always find the solutions to the issues we raise. Also, they have a fantastic team of professionals with great knowledge.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing for us is the pricing, that even though they are amazing and they deserve what they ask for, for us, a small startup in the making, maybe a different package, directed to clients like us, would make us more comfortable with the wallet. But again, that's an "us" thing, not them. They are great, and we love working with them.

As part of an internal messaging research, we got very good feedback on our site's look and feel, that is accurately what we intended to get. We get many compliments.

For the branding work, we filled out a questionnaire and went through several rounds of logo design. Website work was a collaboration and we checked in weekly, and they were very understanding of copy edits, etc. We help weekly development meetings to get the site up and running un under 7 weeks.

We worked with 2 brand and design members, and 4 person website development team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We love our new logo and website, and have gotten tons of positive feedback already on the new look. We have great branding assets that will support our team in a period of growth for us.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Calls and slack were great. We had a few hiccups between design and development not always being aware of my updates, but these were corrected very quickly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The development team is super fast and very good. - made it very wasy to work with them despite the time difference.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The time difference is the only issue we had with getting things turned around quickly. Team still delivered in 48 - 72 hrs, but24 hrs turnaround not always possible.
