The main goal of this project was to merge two blogs into one. Because of that, they had to import all the media – tens of thousands of photos and posts. The two services didn’t have compatible categories of posts so one of the tasks was to unify them. WLC was very engaged in this process which made the work much more efficient.

The website is based on WordPress and Elementor. Before the merging, data from both services needed to be made coherent with each other. They also created a custom Elementor plugin to manage recommended places on Google Maps.

• The end product can now serve people with a passion to travel and explore international cuisines. WLC also offered us WordPress Support Line service as our website is constantly developed and we are very happy with the maintenance and necessary support they provide.

While English language skills varied among the developers provided by White Label Coders, all were fully communicative and able to work effectively with our team. We found that one individual, who initially had slightly lower language skills, made significant improvements over the first few months of our cooperation.

We were pleased with the attitude and the possibility of working in different cooperation models, including staff augmentation with a readily available and skilled team.

The team worked on new functionalities according to our Product Team guidelines. We are focusing on excellent UX, security and compliance with strict financial regulations - all that was part of the project.

Our product is a SaaS which has been under intense development since 2019 and is growing even more now. The WLC team working with us delivered on the agreed quarterly targets in timely manner and presenting professional attitude at all times. We consider sourcing more developers from WLC in the future.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We work in weekly sprints with Product Owner, QA and development teams collaborating together in agile fashion (scrum-ish). Regular stand-ups, bi-weekly retros live, while most of the remaining communication happens async - this helps with distributed team (for this project us it was coordination UTC+2/+5/+7+8).

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We decided to work in a staff augmentation model with White Label Coders as we also had our internal team of developers, and a team from WLC was an addition to that. We like their attitude and the fact that they’re professional, open and competent. Delivered code is tested, clean and well-integrated into the existing conventions in the system.

We experienced difficulties in finding high-quality programmers in our local market not only due to the shortage of people with certain skills but also due to rapidly growing employment costs. The idea was to find a team of developers, in a relatively short period of time, who would run a complex digital transformation project.

Our company consists of many business units that have specific functions, as well as needs. In order to manage the needs of these subunits we created a platform to support their activities and help control the process, among other we can enumerate the control of financial settlements, online currency exchange platform, airport air conditioning control panel, new e-commerce store enabling clients to shop online while traveling, and much more in order to improve different operations.

The most important was to create a team of Senior Developers to develop the platform and its functionalities. Most wanted technologies included Advanced Laravel, Vue, and JS. The team was meant to have strong competence and be able to run the project smoothly so that they can deploy new functionalities step by step.

WLC provided development support for one of our web app projects. We prepared the designs, and they used that to build the app from scratch and up to the point that it’s ready to launch on the server. Their team used PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress.

We researched for possible partners and sent RFPs to three companies. WLC responded very quickly, and they showed us similar projects that they had done before.

We worked together from June–November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our in-house developers checked WLC’s code, and we found it properly written. In addition, the end customer was happy with their work. 

Although we encountered bugs throughout the development, WLC’s QA specialists responded quickly. We never struggled to contact them whenever there was an issue. They even checked their work before submitting it to us.  

How did White Label Coders perform from a project management standpoint?

WLC’s project manager was open-minded, and they delivered on time and within our budget. The whole project was conducted transparently — we can track their work and the step-by-step changes that occur. We collaborated using Jira, Slack, and email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

WLC’s response time was impressive. We liked that they researched our company, our needs, and the project’s recommended solutions.

I can’t think of anything. We were pleased with WLC’s services.

‘Pismo. Magazyn opinii’ is a unique media project, implemented pro bono. It is published in three formats: paper, digital and audio. The team is formed by the most outstanding reporters, essayists, prose writers and poets, photographers and illustrators. ‘Pismo’ opposes tabloidization and the politicization of the media, cultivating the best standards of journalism. It publishes extensive, insightful and, at the same time, perfectly written articles that avoid superficial analyses and quick judgments.

It focuses on the reliability and apolitical nature of the story. It does not deal with the current political sensation. It is probably the only editorial office in the country that fact-checks information in all its texts. In addition to traditional press formats, ‘Pismo’ develops innovative projects, such as the first Polish journalistic podcast series ‘Śledztwo Pisma’, which combines the highest journalistic standards with an approachable form of an audio recording.

As part of the project we implemented two functionalities: audio and a new way of content presentation.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They were recommended to us by another company that partnered with White Label Coders, and after an initial call we started shaping the project. Our previous provider failed and we were looking for a reliable partner.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We created a dedicated audio player, which made the magazine independent of streaming platforms. The player allows a user to manipulate the content provided by various streaming platforms. The solution was implemented by means of JS technology. The website has been rebuilt in terms of the way the pages are handled. The content is reloaded, not the entire page, that finally makes it possible to use your own player and play the sound while browsing the website.

Content management has also been changed. The project also involved creating new forms of content presentation: audio (using a dedicated player), and long-form stories called “Lens” which allows combine text, photos, videos, photo galleries, animated charts, statistics. The update and rebuild were done by adding dedicated Gutenberg blocks using the ACF plugin. JS GSAP library was used to do so, and the scroll magic library to handle the animation.

We started with a dedicated project manager. The team consisted of three Mid WordPress Developers and a Q&A Engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Audio is played during the portal browsing. The project was done in compliance with WordPress standards. The standardization ensure low level of maintenance costs and high level of security by the possibility of up to date WordPress platform updates.

We had Daily meetings, each sprint was followed by a Demo, and a Retrospective after each step of the project. We used Trello and Slack for communication, with occasional e-mail exchange. SCRUM methodology made it possible to implement the project in a cost-effective way.

Reliability and honesty is the key here, as we failed with our previous partner that was of major importance for us. WLC handled the project very well and stood up the challenge. They were easy to communicate with, professional and friendly — it was a pleasurable experience to work with them.

We hired WLC to create a web application for documenting the quality control process in our processing plant and supervising the packaging delivery process.

There are two applications in this project: - application for mobile devices, such as tablet interface. In the app employees responsible for quality control enter data into the system by using appropriate forms defined in the app. - web application for managing user accounts, managing database entries that are later used in the forms (numbers of fish farms, boat and truck markings, types of packaging, chemical catalogue cards).

This application is also used to view completed forms, print them to PDF files and generate reports from the data collected in the database. Main technology: JS, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS

There were 2 Full Stack JS Developers and a project manager on the site of White Label Coder.

We were very satisfied with the fact that we managed to integrate the application with the industrial automation system in the factory. When a user fills out the form, application connects to the automation system and pulls live data from sensors.

The project was run by a dedicated project manager from WLC team, with very high competencies and communication skills. There were two staff on our side to provide feedback. We organized regular conference calls to discuss progress, and occasional e-mail exchange if needed.

The team represents a very professional attitude, they’re open and easy to communicate with. The team had a firm understanding of what was required, and they showed a high level of competency and experience. We had a very clear view of the project and timelines.

Our company was looking for a web development partner in order to update our current website and fix some issues related to fonts, additionally we wanted to clean up the database. The key requirement was to conduct a specific expertise that would resolve WordPress website and plugin updates issues, eliminate problems occurring during updates and fix font issues.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We chose White Label Coders because they had proven their competence in WordPress Development and site maintenance by presenting their know-how and project portfolio. The communication run smoothly from the very start and were impressed by their attitude and communication. They’re open and easy-going.

What we needed to do, as soon as possible, was WordPress version update together with plugins update, in addition to cleaning the database, because the whole thing was already slightly out of breath. We had an in-house developer, but we had some concerns regarding the complexity of the problem, therefore we decided to get an external team of experts to deal with these issues.

This made us feel more comfortable about the entire situation. We had also diagnosed another issue with CLS on our website, the font loaded and then it reloaded to its final form - it was noticeable especially on the website header. We needed someone to clean this up for us and not to mess up.

We had a project manager assigned plus one developer to conduct the audit and later implement all the necessary updates.

It was a win, after implementing all the changes the problems with fonts vanished and the updates brought expected results.

The project started with a call to discuss the scope of changes and was followed by an estimate. Later, we communicated through Slack and established tasks in Trello. No major issues aroused during the fixing stage and the project went according to the timeline set at the start.

The level of skill the developer we work with had is very impressive. Both the manager and developer are excellent communicators, contribute meaningfully to our conversations. Their attitude has been very impressive.

Not really. The team was quick to fix issues, and we were more than happy to get rid of the bugs.

We were looking for a partner to help out with our frontend development needs. We entered a partnership in Q2 of 2020. We chose WLC thanks to their specialisation in Wordpress which we needed. We were able to release the new website to production ahead of schedule. It was a success which was greatly appreciated by our client. Developers from WLC were also able to analyse and resolve major performance issues and are currently working on a complicated data migration process.

White Label Coders does heavy lifting coding work primarily on WordPress. They design custom features for websites and web applications. The team has also developed a few custom web applications for us as well. 

We give them specifications, they return an estimate, and they stage their work on their servers. Once everything is completed and ready to go, they put everything online. Right now, we’re working with them on updating a high-profile client’s calendar.

So, White Label Coders is upgrading and replacing that calendar. After we gave them the specifications, the team came back with a detailed estimate along with a timeline of when it could be done.

Paweł (CEO) has been our main point of contact, and we’ve also worked with project managers. We don’t work directly with the developers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’re not an inexpensive service, but they are very thorough. When we give them specifications, White Label Coders often comes up with ways to do the project better. Thanks to their help, we can take on projects that would’ve otherwise been a strain on our team. 

How did White Label Coders perform from a project management standpoint?

White Label Coders’ project management is good. They always keep track of scope and time. They’ve stuck to their timelines and have met all expectations. When the team is not available, they always let us know ahead of time. 

When we give them something to do, we know that the QA is going to be good, delivered on time, and done right. We occasionally use Basecamp with them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their advantage is that they are efficient and detail-oriented, and they think outside of the box. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I can think of. It would be great to have better rates, but they provide great value. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Bring a solid scope to the table that White Label Coders can look at. Don’t give them an open-ended project; they need to be able to understand it and bring their expertise into the process.
