I had a Drupal website that had some issues and needed some work done.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I hired The Well to fix my website for me, but they ended up trying to build a new one. Among our main requirements were to fix the booking functionality, which was not working properly, and doing some backend development work to set up some structures we needed.

First, I talked to a manager, and this person then connected me with the consultant after I paid The Well an initial fee.

I found The Well through word of mouth.

I spent $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2021, and we ended the contract in November 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

First, I contacted The Well and provided them with documents detailing what I needed, and they connected me with one of their consultants. A month and a half into the project, the consultant came back and told me that they couldn’t get the job done and that we should move it to WordPress.

At that point, my hands were tied; I couldn’t say no because they had already broken my original site, and it was not usable anymore. Thus, I felt forced to go with the WordPress website, and everything went downhill from there.

How did The Well - Creative Consultants Inc. address the challenges that arose?

Whenever I tried to communicate with the consultant, they would wearily communicate back, only asking questions when they wanted to get an answer from me. Then, when I tried to communicate with the manager I originally spoke to, they said that the problem wasn’t their responsibility and that we needed to talk directly with the consultant.

After the project was done, I reached out to The Well to voice my concerns and talk about things they hadn’t done on my website. I talked directly with the owner and sent them documents detailing the things I needed them to do still, but I never heard back from them. Thus, I put a complaint about them to a local company, and they told me that they would reach out to them. They still haven’t solved the problem, so I’ve had to hire another company to complete the project.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

This project has been very impactful because, to this date, my website isn’t complete. Its major functionality is not working, and the main page has some errors that need to be fixed.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

The Well didn’t do anything well; they just put me in contact with the consultant and didn’t do anything to solve the problem.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

I wouldn’t recommend working with The Well to anyone.
