We currently had a Shopify website that we needed re-designed where our customers could interact and add their logo to the apparel we make.  We needed the site refreshed and the product preview feature built and was told it would cost $6000 and take 6-8 weeks to complete.

There wasn't any.  They left us with a half built site that's mid level at best.

Oh my this was the worst.  Max was nice.... thats the best thing I can say.  All he did was lie to us the entire build.  He didn't listen to ANY of the specifics we ask for and took forever to produce something to show us.  Told us it was complete and gave us a link to preview the site and simple things like our business info was incorrect or missing after we have given it multiple times.  

He constantly blamed us for the amount of time it was taking and never took any resposibility for their issues and extreme lack of communication.

Nothing.  They are a horrible company.

They stole our money and screwed our website up.  I would run far away from this company.

I was the director of software engineering for a beauty holding company when I first worked with WebPlanex, but I’ve also used them in my freelance work as a subcontractor.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebPlanex InfoTech?

Use them as an outsourced development shop, with their team partnering with us and in-house developers to do product incrementation on e-commerce platforms and develop middleware. One of their main products was a video learning portal.

In the professional world, you have individual and independent trainers go to companies to train on specific things. We wanted to bring those skills and trainings to the virtual environment. It’s like Teams on the web.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They partnered with me on the actual architecture of the platform. In the initial phase, they provided consulting services; we were trying to find out what platform would be the best to build on. We got together and collaborated on the architecture, and then we discussed how to move through development.

There have been five phases of development that we’ve moved through over the past nine months to create an admin section, authentication capabilities, and the actual features of the video application.

There is another project that I did recently for a friend where WebPlanex built a clothing bundle builder. The client was an outdoor retailer.

Everyone we work with is a developer. There’s been some attrition; over the years, we’ve worked with a good percentage of their resources.

They were already on board when I started my previous job in 2015, so I worked with them from day one there. I’ve been consistently working with them ever since.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m a one-person company, and I don’t have the time or bandwidth to get a lot of development done. Whenever I’ve worked with WebPlanex, they’ve been able to almost immediately allocate resources toward a project that I’m working on. My main goal is to be cost-effective and get the job done fast. It’s not a dirty, hasty implementation, which tends to happen when you give deadlines to developers.

How did WebPlanex InfoTech perform from a project management standpoint?

I would give them an eight out of 10. I try not to micromanage, but I do it a bit more than I should, but we mostly manage it together. There is room for improvement, but WebPlanex generally sticks to tasks and provides updates as possible.

Our communication method depends on the scenario. If we’re talking about something complex and hard to convey, especially from my side, then we’ll hope on Skype. Otherwise, we use email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to deliver, quality of work, and the degree of partnership they offer stand out. Rather than simply completing the work, they’re willing to question me and be a true partner. They own the product from their side, which I don’t always see. Usually, individuals are task-oriented and just want to get the job done.

We’ve built our relationship together over the years. Their ability to hit deadlines when they do arise stands out. There are times when they might be working overtime, like on Black Friday, and they’re willing to make things happen. I never have to wait in a queue for work for their other clients to get done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be a bit more transparent regarding the milestones completed within the scope of work. I prefer daily updates, but it depends on what cadence we’re on. I’m a bit at fault here as well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a video conference to reiterate exactly what your ask is. Moving forward, monitor the project as it goes. Communication also needs to be clear when you’re working with teams from around the world. Clearly and concisely layout your project plan, and WebPlanex will deliver 100%, and most likely they’ll do it under budget and ahead of time.

WebPlanex Infotech Pvt Ltd is great at project management; we use ActiveCollab to manage the project. If there are issues, I can contact WebPlanex Infotech Pvt Ltd directly over Skype and they'll rectify issues quickly. We've had no issues with the language barrier, which is great.

WebPlanex Infotech Pvt Ltd has done exactly what we've asked them to. They've fixed everything that was broken by our previous vendor.

They first needed to figure out what kind of accounts I needed to set up to make this go. I had heard that Simplero is a good solution that might be able to do everything I needed. These guys had never used Simplero before, but quickly learned it and got the whole thing set up by Friday -- in JUST 2 DAYS! It was great.

I think they had just one guy do this.

It was fantastic! I had the link printed on my business cards. I went to the conference and gave the cards to about 90 people who wanted to read the paper, AND gave them the special code for getting it for free. About 35 people actually downloaded it. This is huge for me because each client is potentially worth $50,000.

I worked directly with the specialist. We communicated through the Upwork interface. That worked fine.

They understood everything. They learned a new system very quickly and got me up and running in very short order. I was very grateful.

We have been using WebPlanex for the last 3 months and in that time have developed a strong working partnership. At the start of the engagement, we were disillusioned with offshore contracting through sites like Upwork and Freelancer. From the get-go, WebPlanex was a step above other developers we had used - both in terms of code quality and communication. Within 3 weeks, they fixed our initial build to a high enough quality for launch.

Since the launch, we have continued working with WebPlanex on feature enhancements and small bug fixes for our site. One thing that we've really liked is that we have consistently worked with the same developer - Amish (developer, WebPlanex). Over time we have gotten to know each others' work styles and Amish has become more efficient as he learns about the site. Our original website hadn't been professionally done. We had an in-house technical team that put it together, and it generated low online sales. We wanted to build a better website that could push traffic.The major reason for this solution, though, was to improve sales and clients interactions.

We sell wipers for automobiles, so we needed a database through which clients could select correct sizes. WebPlanex helped us develop and organize a database system for the website, and tidied up the page in general. WebPlanex built an online store through which users can select products and input delivery information. I believe that the site was built using WordPress. We handled website marketing in-house.

I found WebPlanex through 99Designs, after they won a bidding we posted there. WebPlanex had the best website design from a very competitive contest. We were very impressed with the quality of their work and decided to start a one-on-one Android development project.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The site has been live for two weeks, and we've seen a general spike in sales. We are very proud of it, but we also attribute some of the success to the marketing work we've done. The direct benefit has been increased sales since implementation. We are very satisfied with their work; the job was executed as to the brief given, improving and even providing better ideas to the project.
