CJ Pony Parts wanted to give customers easy access to the aftermarket parts and products they need in order to improve their vehicle. We designed their menu and search options to allow shoppers on both mobile and desktop to browse the exact year their Mustang falls into. Additional filters can be selected from there.

When it comes to ecommerce, we worked with CJ Pony Parts to create product-focused copywriting, product photos and videos, and installation guides. This makes buying aftermarket products a simple process, which increases conversions.

We worked with Sharretts Plating to design a website that's modern and highlights the company's electroplating capabilities.

Our goal was to provide potential customers with detailed information on the metals that can be plated, while still maintaining a simple design. We also wanted to draw more attention to their free quote form, since it's their primary source of new leads.

Sharretts Plating also took advantage of our SEO knowledge and expertise to stand out from other electroplating companies online. When we designed their website, we did so with search in mind. This allowed their products and services to be more visible to potential customers.

Ceramcor is one of our longest-running SEO clients. Most recently, they worked with us to meet the mobile-first browsing habits of their customers with a reponsive redesign of their cookware site.

Our goal was to modernize their identity, create an easy, intuitive online shopping experience, and convert customers and keep them coming back.

We worked directly with the guys at Ceramcor to finalize the overall layout, shopping cart user experience, and any additional requests and considerations that came up.

In addition to a complete redesign, we used Facebook and Twitter to run promotional campaigns and contests to spread the word about holiday specials. This resulted in an additional 5k followers on Facebook and 2.5k followers on Twitter.

Ocean City, New Jersey is a world famous seashore community located in the heart of the Jersey Shore.

Our goal was to add a new, fresh look to the website that would emphasize the family atmosphere of Ocean City, while also maintaining a sophisticated air. The website highlights things to do at Ocean City, upcoming events, local businesses and real estate.

We also created a custom Google map in order to promote the various downtown and boardwalk businesses of Ocean City.

In addition, we created a mobile-friendly version of the website to meet the demand of incoming traffic from mobile devices. The new mobile site focuses on the four most visited areas of the website: where to stay, things to do, where to shop and places to eat. What challenge were you trying to address with WebpageFX?

Initially, we were looking for search engine optimization [SEO] help. We know we have some of the best products in the market, but if no one else knows, then that’s not too useful. We wanted the public to know not only the services we offer, but that we offer some of the best rates.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mainly we use WebpageFX for SEO. They've taken a thorough look at every single one of our pages on our website, which has about 150–200 pages beyond our landing page. They've helped us create the tags and titles, label the images (altext, metatags, etc.), write content, and connect links back to our site from external sites.

What is the team composition?

Alexa [Internet Marketing Analyst, WebpageFX] is our sole contact, but I'm sure there are other people on the team.

How did you come to work with WebpageFX?

We did an extremely thorough search for the top 50 SEO companies in the U.S. From there, we tried to figure out who could work with us as far as our size and our needs because we wanted more of that personal connection that doesn’t always come with large companies. It was a long process, but we screened it down to about 3 firms, then we set up phone interviews and in-person meetings. WebpageFX came to our office, and their interview made us choose them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $850 a month, so around $18,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since February 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They give us monthly updates on all of our rankings, and it has everything you would want. We can track how we’re doing holistically all the way down to what specific keywords we're tracking (about 100 different keywords or phrases). WebpageFX lets us know if and how much they've gone up in rank, or, if they've gone down, we look at those and redirect our efforts, although that doesn’t happen too often. Our ranking has pretty much been steadily increasing on everything we're trying to accomplish.

For example, we’re currently doing an auto re-financing campaign and trying to get people to the page to refinance their automobile. Year over year, traffic to that page was up 671%. Another example would be our membership application page and getting people to sign up. From the latest report, it had increased by just over 43%. We’re aiming to keep 100 words or phrases highly ranked with Google, and right now 48 of those are in the top three positions of the first page. Those are some real numbers, and WebpageFX is doing a great job.

How did WebpageFX perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re incredibly responsive to all of our needs. We communicate through Basecamp, which allows both of us to track the communications. It's been a smooth process, and they've never not done what we've asked; whatever we've needed, we've received.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Communication with Alexa has been effective. Being proactive and making suggestions comes naturally to them, and we’ve followed almost all of their ideas. We wanted our rankings to improve, and that’s exactly what they’ve done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their copywrite team and the actual content could be improved. It meets industry standards and the style is fine, but proofing and editing could be better. I’d like for them to hand me something that I can put right onto the site, but we haven’t gotten there, yet. Everything else is positive.

The partnership began before I joined the company, but the objective was a complete overhaul of the website and search engine optimization [SEO].

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed the new site in its entirety, with key SEO aspects. They followed basic standards for website development. Now they manage our web traffic and provide ongoing performance tracking. We get weekly reports on the number of click-throughs, and subscribed to a service that gives us basic IP address information and the companies it’s linked to. They reach out to other organizations on our behalf to set up backlinking, which has been really helpful. We’re planning for them to begin writing blog entries for us to improve SEO.

At my previous employer, they helped us with benchmarking against some of our competitors. I had participated in user testing on the Philadelphia Mixing site before it went live, so my other company brought WebpageFX on upon their recommendation. We relied on them for understanding best practices for SEO, and the design, look, and feel of our websites. They did keyword research and found ways we could best utilize our site content. They did some writing for us as well as page creation.

Our sales team loves the tracking features. It shows them our existing customers’ traffic, and helps hone our target lists. It gives us more awareness, and allows us to follow up with our visitors.

We will kick off another project in the next few weeks to dig deeper, but we’ve seen an increase in our contacts through our online forms. We have a higher visibility of traffic, but we want to be sure that the traffic is producing value beyond pure volume.

SEO is one of their biggest strengths, and they keep us on track. They’re really good at reminding us when something is due, and they send regular updates and status reports.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided a wide range of services, but it was primarily SEO. The website is hosted on WordPress, but it’s a custom CMS that was built by an outsource developer several years ago.

On occasion, they've helped with website issues or troubleshooting more IT-based services as needed. It started with an initial review and based upon that review, we performed some updates to the website. When we started, I’ve become less active with the SEO and we’ve transitioned to them handling the majority of the responsibility and reporting back.

How did you come to work with WebpageFX?

The previous organization we were working with was too small for the support we needed. They didn't have a comprehensive plan, and it seemed like they were following basic guidelines accessible on the internet.

I came across WebpageFX through a Google search. My boss prefers working with a local company; we looked at their customer testimonials and reviews and they were pretty good. I then reached out to them and they gave me very specific feedback on things I had given them right away, before even doing any agreement with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen a drastic increase in the number of our keywords on the first page, if not the first few pages. We also have good results across Yahoo and Bing as well, but that’s only a fraction of the success rate. We’ve increased tracking and have noticed significant increases across all of our keywords. Previously, we primarily only focused on a few keywords and now we’re spread out and had a lot of success over a larger group.

How did WebpageFX perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been excellent. We communicate using Basecamp as our project management tool, and I receive reports from Google Analytics as well. There’s a schedule set out for me so I know when things are getting done, and there’s constant updates. I also receive monthly summary reports.

They’re one of the few vendors where I can email a request, and I don’t have to follow-up with them at all. Before the project is completed, they’ll send an email with a summary of the results. For smaller requests, that can happen within a few hours which has not been my experience working with other vendors or even colleagues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In particular, they’ve excelled with the keyword design and strategy. For some of our top keywords that we’re competing over, it’s unrealistic to surpass some of our competitors given their size. They focused on the long tail keywords and have had a lot of success increasing web traffic and results.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Early on in the process, there were some issues with the copywriting. Given the status of our industry, it can be quite difficult. But, based on the feedback I proved them they have improved and the last couple of things they’ve done have been much better.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We needed a redesign of our homepage and to move it over to WordPress. They were in the development stage for about eight months and built all new web pages. They moved us over into a test environment, and started building it, and we currently have many pages on the test environment. From the conception to the rollout was under a year.

In addition to that, they are in charge of our PPC [pay-per-click] advertisements, our remarketing online ads, and our social media campaigns. The remarketing started before me, but we had a big push on our rental market. At present, the only remarketing we are doing is our rental ads and we changed out the look and feel of those. In terms of the PPC, we started out doing very specific keyword placements and searches for all of the small equipment we carry. For the social media aspect, I hired them three months ago for this, and after I told them I wanted that, we were up and going with new social media campaigns within a week.

What is the team dynamic?

I work directly with two people: Darrien [Social Media, WebpageFX], who works on my social media campaign and Amanda [Internet Marketing, WebpageFX] on the actual webpage. Anytime I have had to reach out to their emergency staff with an issue, they are very quick to respond. I have never had any problems with them.

When this all started I was not in the marketing department. I believe our company met them at the Caterpillar Marketing Conference when they were a vendor there. They built a relationship from that point — we liked their work and it seamlessly worked together.

We have seen a great increase in the traffic to our website as well as our leads conversions.

In terms of social media, they are doing great. When we started, we had 2,700 people that liked our page on Facebook, and now we are at 4,200 within a 3-month span. Just this past month, we had a 33% increase in my impressions and 12% increase in reach. We have almost 200 new followers on Instagram, as well as 27 new clicks throughs to the website from Facebook.

How did WebpageFX perform from a project management standpoint?

They are awesome. They are on top of their work and are very organized and professional. They document their work very well, using Basecamp to keep all of our content and reports in one space. If there is ever something I talk about on the phone, they update it on our Basecamp pages. They are quick on turnaround time, and they have never told me, "no" to anything I have wanted to add or change. They always give great advice about what they see in the industry, what some of their other customers have done, and how it can be adapted to our industry.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I am very inexperienced on the web platform side of things and they help with their extensive knowledge base about what works well, what doesn’t work, and what to tweak. They have a way of explaining things and tell us what we should do, which always turns out to be correct after it is executed.

I am very happy with them. Anything we have had an issue with was quickly changed and hasn’t been an issue again.

My advice would be to ask every question you can think of. There is a reason why they have so many clients and why they are ranked as the top workplace in Pennsylvania. What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us out with redesigning our website, providing SEO content, and making sure our webpage is optimized for customers to find us. I talk to Amanda [‎Lead Internet Marketing Consultant, WebpageFX] on a regular basis. She sends reports on how our website is performing and makes great suggestions on what we can do to optimize our website.

They also helped with page development. If I need something elaborate done on the website, I contact her. She helps me with uploading content and editing our pages so that the site is current and relevant to the services we offer.

A lot of our content was brought over from the previous website. They helped us establish the new pages with new content. We're currently redesigning our online customer tools page. They helped us lay out the page, and we're waiting on management approval to launch it.

We have 2 small campaigns with them, and she suggested that we increase our budget to get more results. She participated in a couple of calls with us, explaining how Google works, how AdWords help us come up on the search engines, and what we can do to improve our results.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They work on our website’s design and SEO. I’d had a friend make our website during the transition from the last company to WebpageFX, using Webflow as the CMS [content management system]. Even though they suggested moving over to WordPress, they haven't insisted on it. They're really good with working with us, being able to hold our hand, work with the current designer of the website, and have weekly check-ins with us to be able to keep up with each one of these monthly reports.

We have a reports page that we can go to, so we can look at the reports, add on different things, and really be able to grow with our business without having to spend too much and redesign the website completely. They also provide an auto email service that sends out a 3-sequence email to prospects and current clients.

What is the team dynamic?

It's been a very good experience since the beginning. There are two people we've communicated with, Jordan [Pritchard, marketing specialist] and another person. They made the trip to our studio to talk with us about the project. It was a great transition.

We initially spent $1,100 per month. We’ve since requested an auto email service that’s connected to the contact forms on the website and costs $200 per month, so we’ve been spending $1,300 per month now for the last 1 1/2–2 years.

In the beginning, when you start working with a new company and SEO campaign, it can take a while to see results. We not only saw results in 2–3 months with using WebpageFX, but we've also seen a steady increase.

I see positive reports every month in my inbox. Some months are better than others, but there is always an increase, and the reports are very detailed. Everybody's happy, the clients are happy. It's been good.

How did WebpageFX perform from a project management standpoint?

As we've grown, they've grown with their company too, and also now offer new products and services. I've been very happy with the progression. Our project management is customized. Some business owners don't even want to deal with any of this; they just want a website built, but I appreciate having input. I also appreciate having my hands held. In the beginning, we would have weekly phone calls, which was something I requested.

They also initially had a separate website, a marketing cloud. It's great, because not only can you see the initial stages with the SEO at any time, you can see updates from their team, things that they did to our site, and what’s happening. We used to check it every day, but over time, we didn't feel the need to keep going there. Now, we look at the contact forms or the prospects that are coming in from the website. You can see what pages those users visited and how long they stayed on them. There's even a section where you can watch a video of them on the website. The detail is incredible. It's a very useful tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate the personal touch. They are a mid-sized company, but they haven't lost that small business vibe. Some people don't like the personal touch, but we do. We told them we need them to check in with us and we want to know what's going on, and they do that.

I'm very detail-oriented, and they understood that. Other companies might act like they do in the first month, but WebpageFX has been able to always do that and customize it for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I do not have anything to complain about. There's not a lot that I would do differently or say that they're lacking. If you asked me last year, I would have something. But right now, we've straightened everything out and set ground rules.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They initially did an audit for us to ensure our redesigned website was search engine and user-friendly. Their findings indicated that the website’s design was not causing our poor rankings, so we hired them to do SEO consultations. They provide us with a list of areas we needed to improve in order to get better search engine-visibility, and then help us execute those improvements, including assisting us in generating SEO-friendly content and effective marketing strategies. They’re helping us build out our backlink profile and are also working on our Google AdWords campaign and email marketing. Throughout the process, they measure our progress through SEO analytics and keep us updated with monthly calls.

Our main point of contact is the account manager. He provides us with content, and we’ll review it and suggest changes. He’ll then bring it back to his team of graphic designers, copywriters, coders, etc., and they’ll make the changes. That’s a very efficient system for us because we prefer to interact with one person, as opposed to the entire team.

I get a monthly email stating our ranking on TripAdvisor, Google, and Yelp.

Sarah is always quick to respond and help us in any way. If I need a quick turnaround because I’m promoting an event and need an email blast to go out that week, she makes it happen, even if she has to write it herself. They use Basecamp, so I can log in and see the calendar or what they’re planning, review blog posts and emails and approve them, and communicate with Sarah.

They also do webinars, which gives me a better understanding of what they’re doing.
