I’m the executive VP of Pegnato Roof Intelligence Network, LLC, a consulting company. We’ve built a network to connect large national brands to the best local roofing contractors in the business, with all transactions curated and data warehoused by our platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebMedia?

We needed help conducting an independent validation of the UX and design direction of our new website during its development phase. We also needed to generate actionable, evidence-based insights that would secure executive buy-in and ensure our final platform was strategically aligned with both user needs and business goals.

• Planning & Alignment: We began by collaboratively reviewing and approving their proposed testing methodology and project timeline.
• Execution & Analysis: WebMedia then performed a dual-faceted assessment. First, they conducted a heuristic evaluation against established usability principles. Then, they conducted a series of user interviews with participants recruited from our target segments, supplemented by their own non-expert users.
• Synthesis & Reporting: Finally, they analyzed the collected data to synthesize key user perspectives and formulate actionable recommendations.

WebMedia provided concrete, tangible deliverables. The main outputs from their engagement were:

• A Written Heuristic Evaluation Report: This was a formal document where their experts systematically reviewed the website against established usability principles. The report specifically noted three key areas for improvement with detailed rationale.
• A Synthesis of User Perspectives: Following the user interviews, WebMedia delivered a summary (likely in a written format) that extracted and reported the core viewpoints, pain points, and behaviors of the different test users.
• A Prioritized List of Strategic Recommendations: This was a crucial deliverable, likely in the form of a list or a section within a final report. It provided actionable steps to address the findings from both the heuristic evaluation and the user interviews.
