The animation video I wanted to develop required the meshing of a number of moving parts, including songwriting, music (jingle), quality sound engineering and multiple Voice Over talents.

Being that I used to be a Creative Director in a NYC based advertising agency, I had a very clear vision of what my explainer animation video should look like and had very detailed and exacting requirements to ensure that the final animation is flawlessly executed during both pre-production and post-production stages.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Because of my very detailed and exacting requirements for this animation, I kept making edits, mostly minor and others not so minor during production and this resulted in the completion date stretching a little. However, during the project, I find Chehak to be courteous, understanding, and helpful and has delivered the revisions until we got it right.

Webdew uses the tool Frame.io for cataloging client's comments and edit requests and this tool was absolutely terrific in communicating my edit requests to Chehak and her team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Hands down Chehak's desire to ensure complete customer satisfaction(!), even when the customer is as finicky and detailed oriented as I was and am...lol!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, I cannot think of any...these guys are real professionals and the quality of my finished animation video is testament to their professionalism and their desire to deliver a superior quality product to their customers. Not once did Chehak exhibit any exasperation towards me during the countless edits that I requested. Very, Very Impressive!

We started with a discovery call, and we shared our voice-over script for reference. The team helped us understand the flow and time length of the script over the calls. They also helped to handle the voiceover and helped us with a mini animated video to be used for our website landing page!

We worked with Chehak who outlined the project and help to deliver on time. After each milestone, we'd provide feedback through form.ai, which allowed us to comment directly on certain designs or timestamps.

We showed the new video to investors and they were able to easily understand our technology! We are getting better quality conversations with new investors because the video has helped to drive higher engagement.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and provided frequent/on-time updates. We most spoke over Zoom calls and upwork chat.

They took time to understand what we're looking for and came up with animations that matched the voice-over.

Some customers may be new to storyboards and creation of videos, it would be great if the team provides more handholding at the early stage.

When I first started at Guide, there were a couple of problems with Webdew, but after some online meetings and correspondence, we were able to address those issues, and they have shown great improvement since then.

The team replies fast and works in an organized manner, and they have a lot of talented animators.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They reply ASAP, and they are very organized. They also have a lot of talented animators.

The animators should not take things literally when using graphics. Also, they should really research first before using an image of a person they've googled because they sometimes don't match whoever should be put in the video.

Our clients absolutely loved the final animation, and so did we. We plan to work with Chehak on future animation projects.

Chehak frequently (but not too frequently) checks in with us to see how we're going, even when we're really busy, and is really polite about asking us to give her feedback. She communicates exclusively through Upwork, and delivers milestones ahead of schedule.

Chehak took the time to craft individual design elements, drawing from inspiration that we shared with her, and even went to the extent to help us splice audio files for the animation voiceover. She truly went above and beyond with this project.

It would have been nice to have a video chat to discuss the project face to face, however I understand that that isn't always possible.

They showed the different steps of their distillation process, and we’re producing several videos that show every phase of it. I provide webdew with illustrations, and they animate them into 10–15 second clips.

I measure the success of their work by the quality of the animation, their communication skills, and their deadline accomplishment.

How did webdew perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s been excellent; they meet all the deadlines we set and are always communicative about every aspect of the project. We’ve never had any problems with responsiveness, even though there’s a time difference; they’re always online and answer any inquiries immediately. 

Regarding communication and tools, we use Upwork and Frame.io, which help keep track of the project updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their level of communication and prompt attention to our requests are outstanding. The quality of their work is also excellent, and we’re impressed by it.

We were trying to demonstrate how our product works and how efficient it is compared to contemporary door-installing methods.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we sent diagrams and our website to give a better idea of the overall look and color of the product. We also sent videos of conventional ways to do installations so they’d understand how ours is different. They captured our requirements through correspondence, and webdew produced an animated minute-and-a-half video.

I picked them up on Upwork. I put up a post saying I needed an animated video, and Chehak was one of the firsts to respond. We had a low budget to work with, and webdew was able to work within it.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Compared to what we’ve seen online, the work measured up to the standard. The quality was just spot on. The video was very professional, and what they provided was more than what we could’ve hoped for.

How did webdew perform from a project management standpoint?

They met every deadline. We had to extend the delivery because we were too busy to review some of the drafts they sent us, but the delay was on our end.

They were efficient, punctual, and highly affordable. Also, their punctuality with the timeline was outstanding, and it was really easy to deal with them. It was a stress-free process from our end.

Lay out your plan from the beginning so you can give them a better idea before you go ahead. It’ll eliminate any confusion as the process begins and continues, which is why our project was so streamlined.

From there, we provided an outline of any screen recordings that they needed for that. Next, the team compiled that information and provided that video. They provided a list of music we could go through. They sent a link to our video in a way where we could put our comments or edits. We sent back any modifications we wanted, and they polished it until we arrived at the final version.
