I'm the owner of Apex Riding Gear, a company that sells high-quality leather riding jackets and motorcycle gear for riders.

What challenge were you trying to address with Web Designs Lab?

I needed Web Designs Lab to fix the mess the last agency left. The site was slow and kept crashing on mobile devices. The main goal was to have a clean shop for my leather jackets that actually converted and didn't make users leave after two seconds. Web Designs Lab basically had to overhaul the whole website and make it fast so I could get some sales for a change.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Web Designs Lab overhauled my Shopify store. They rewrote a bunch of custom Liquid code because the previous team had messed up the product pages. The team fixed all the CSS bugs that were breaking the layout on phones and made the checkout process work without crashing. Web Designs Lab delivered a fully custom theme and optimized the website's speed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website's speed went from a total joke to loading almost instantly. Mobile sales finally exist now; before, they were zero because the cart was broken. The bounce rate is down, and I'm finally seeing orders in the dashboard instead of just error logs. Overall, the website is better now.

How did Web Designs Lab perform from a project management standpoint?

Web Designs Lab delivered on time. Most agencies just talk and then miss every deadline, but Web Designs Lab stayed on track. We mostly used WhatsApp, and they didn't ghost me when I had questions, which is rare. The team delivered everything when they said they would, so I had no complaints there. I'm glad they didn't drag the project out for months like the previous team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Web Designs Lab actually knew what they were doing with the code. Most agencies just buy a theme and charge you thousands of dollars, but Web Designs Lab actually fixed the custom Liquid code that was broken. They didn't need me to hold their hand the whole time, which was a relief. It's rare to find people who just get it and don't make excuses.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Web Designs Lab could have been a bit faster with the onboarding process. I was already stressed from the previous agency, so I was on edge for the first few days while Web Designs Lab was setting up. The team wasn't the cheapest, but I guess you get what you pay for since the website actually works now.
