Where we had round of discussions about what can be developed, what features or functionality I need and what could be the solutions for that. Then we finalized to have Website as well as Mobile applications for my platform.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
So my selection criteria was to have proper project understanding, keen eye to the basics which I need, their professionalism and most importantly their attitude towards providing me best possible solution. And they have showed me many previous work which they developed and I found them very appealing. So I closed the contract with them and started working on the project.

Scope of work included website and Mobile development where we finalized to create a responsive website and native mobile applications for android and ios. This solution mainly provides driver services where users can book drivers for their travel. Project steps included different round of discussions where they collected complete requirement and provided me with the documentation to freeze the requirement. After that design process started where I have been provided with different set of designs and I chose one of them. Then development phase started where they used to provide me with updates on demo server and apk/ipa build for mobile apps. And then testing & deployment on my server and app/play store.

I recently has launched the solution and already getting positive responses from our clients. Although this is just an initial stage but I can see that we have got an excellent solution to market our services and get new clients. I am very happy with the services WDP has provided us with and will continuing work with them on my apps and web maintenance and enhancements.

Communication was purely on Emails and Phone. Apart from that, they had their project management tool where I was added to check the task progress. Also, I used to have weekly meetings at their office being a local client and they have always welcomed me in a positive attitude even sometimes I had been extra for my requirement.

I used to have regular meetings with their development team itself which made the process more accurate. Their team always provided good support and achieved the target I had in my mind. Their attitude towards the work, proper communication and professionalism made the path very clear to achieve. Very Thankful to WDP for being a great technology partner. OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE What challenge were you trying to address with WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd.? We were redesigning and redeveloping our marketplace, so we needed someone to update our website according to our instructions. The goal was to change the website’s look and feel to make it tasteful and professional so people would want to shop online.
SOLUTION What was the scope of their involvement? Initially, we had a designer come up with a design and all the instructions on how to upgrade our online website to a better position in the marketplace. WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was instructed to follow the requirements to the letter. The technology was simple; we put in notes and diagrams, but they didn’t understand what to do.
What is the team composition? We worked with someone in the administration area and a web developer.
How did you come to work with WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd.? We did our online research and were deceived. They convinced us they were the best.
How much have you invested with them? We spent $60,000–$70,000 AUD (approximately $39,000–$46,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement? We began working with them in February 2022 and decided to stop paying them in August 2023.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK How did your relationship with the vendor evolve? They failed miserably; the quality of the work was below par. WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was so overrated in what they could achieve, but they never achieved it. We tried to work with them and went back to our board every week. They were supposed to finish in July 2022, but the project was still going in December 2023.
WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. kept lying and deceiving us about when they would finish and how they would fix the problems. We gave them the benefit of the doubt because swapping to a new development company would cost us more money. We thought they knew how to play the game. Later on, they got hacked, and we lost one month of work.
I’ve dealt with websites for 25 years, and WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was the worst company I’ve ever experienced. They actually charged us a fee every time they failed. Even though they didn’t get what they were doing or follow the instructions, they charged us money.
How did WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. address the challenges that arose? We had many records and calls and renegotiated some of the fees. They accepted that they were having problems; their program was crashing, and the website wasn’t performing as it should because the code was wrong.
Ultimately, we decided not to pay them anymore. We told them to upload the original code to our server, but they went back into our server and stole all our code. Now, they’re holding it to ransom and blackmailing us to pay them more money. WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. needs to be reprimanded. We want to take them to court.
Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business. We had to hire another web development company to move forward. Since we had no code, we had to start from scratch. WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. took us back to the Stone Age. For example, the site was supposed to give a code if people wanted to register. The code didn’t show the email address, which was a simple thing to do. However, WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. didn’t do it, so people couldn’t register.
We spent tens of thousands of dollars, and they just stole our code. Nonetheless, they still wanted $3,500 AUD (approximately $2,300 USD) more. Additionally, we lost about $400,000–$500,000 in business due to their incompetence.
How was project management handled? They never met deadlines. We made 50–100 calls to them to instruct them what to do, and they continually got it wrong. We had regular Skype calls, sometimes daily, to get them to figure out how to fix things. Our designer was on the phone with them constantly. She said that the team was absolutely hopeless.
Overall, they kept us on the hook and cost us lots of money and time.
Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength? We have no good words to say about them. The designer who put everything together for us lived here in Sydney, Australia. Her husband was a developer, and he told us he couldn’t believe they couldn’t follow the instructions.
Overall, they were evil. They lied to us and were terrible in business. We went back to the CEO multiple times, but they never responded.
In what specific areas can they improve? They shouldn’t go out there and rip people off for no reason. I’ve built programs for some of the biggest corporations in Australia and dealt with many web developers and companies. WDP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was nowhere near the playing field. They can hurt a lot of people with how they operate.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours? Run away fast.
