I’m a contract freelance marketing and business strategy consultant. I work with Vujà Dé Digital through a mutual client that focuses on aesthetic medicine in the San Diego area. I’ve been their primary marketing strategist for five years and manage their relationship with Vujà Dé Digital.

They’re our social media and paid search team.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve been our social media and search marketing partner, executing digital ads through Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Marketplace, and SEM.

What is the team composition?

We’re in contact with their director of account management as well as their director of social media strategy and execution.

How did you come to work with Vujà Dé Digital?

One of their key investors has a relationship with our company as well and recommended their services. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve been spending about $5,000 each month on their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since around September 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The primary metric we track on their work is the return on ad spend. In the past year of our engagement, we’ve seen returns of 700% of what we spend on advertising. That’s a testament to their skills as a partner. Generally, we’re seeing about three dollars for every dollar we invest, though. 

How did Vujà Dé Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re a smaller client for them, but I never feel that we’re getting the low end of their service. Our teams meet weekly to discuss progress and milestones. I know that we’re getting their full attention and top talent. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They put a lot of care into every effort they’re staffed against. I never feel that we’re receiving less quality because we’re a smaller client. Their staff is talented and puts a high level of care and attention into each task. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

At times, they could provide more thought leadership on how we can grow broadly as a business through a marketing and social media lens. They focus very closely on our active tasks and projects, but it would be great if they provided more general strategies and points of view on the business. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be proactive and transparent in the planning process to encourage them to get involved with the strategic side of marketing. I’d make sure that all process owners are in the room for your initial conversations, so everyone is aligned on goals and expectations.

We are a health data-sharing platform. We encourage members to contribute data in exchange for ownership in the platform and the company. I'm the VP of experience and engagement.

What challenge were you trying to address with Vujà Dé Digital?

We wanted to understand different demographics that might be interested in becoming members of our platform. We wanted to figure out the best messaging and channels to create awareness and boost engagement.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They act as our digital media consultant. They collaborate with us and provide insight into the different channels we could use. They created a complete digital activation plan for paid search, paid social, and paid programmatic display. They also helped with campaign optimization and reporting, and they helped us adjust tactics to meet our goals and KPIs.

What is the team composition?

We work with a team of six or seven. That includes two strategists, an account director, the head of programmatics, the head of social, the head of search, and a data analyst.

How did you come to work with Vujà Dé Digital?

I previously worked with their cofounders at another agency. They performed extremely well, so I reached out to them when I joined the team here.

We've spent between $50,000-$100,000 on their services so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2019, and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

During the initial consulting phase, their key leaders were very involved in our media strategy. They've been involved throughout our media campaign as well, and they've provided a lot of insight. Their client service is excellent during the campaign, and their execution is always very timely. Each of the individual channel heads provide great input for optimization, and their service, strategy, and execution are all excellent.

How did Vujà Dé Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is second to none. The software they use is sophisticated, and they never miss deadlines without warning us. They use Teamwork, which allows us to create customizations that fit the engagement. They manage our expectations well, and their communication style is good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to invest in the relationship is good, both from a resource and a time perspective. We're a young company, and we're moving quickly. We pivot regularly, and they support us like a partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing I can think of they should change. Their service is great, and their size allows them to be nimble and flexible. They're always on top of things.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat them as a partner, not as a vendor.
