I am the CTO of wololo GmbH. We are a startup based in Berlin.

For what projects/services did your company hire Vrosoft?

We were building a React Native Mobile app for mobility space and hired Vrosoft to build the app.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to add new features to the existing app and improve the code base with some refactoring.

SOLUTION

How did you select Vrosoft?

We interviewed engineers from different companies and selected the one from Vrosoft. Also Vrosoft was a strong recommendation by my ex-colleague.

Describe the project in detail.

The project required continuous development and shipping every week. The developer closely worked with me and other developers and was contributing also to backend and other applications, not restricting himself just to the codebase. Contributions were made to devops as well by improving the usage of AWS and other tools.

What was the team composition?

We hired one resources from Vrosoft, who worked with 2 other engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to improve the app and ship new features very frequently. This led to acquiring more customers and improving the rating of the app.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The team did a daily standup and the communication was quite good over the Slack. We used other softwares to track the tasks and had regular weekly calls to discus the ongoing work.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The ability and eagerness of Vrosoft to contribute to different technologies were amazing.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Like many software engineers, the developer was a bit shy in communication. Though this was not a problem but he did improve on this when was pointed out to be more vocal.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of technology for C-Centric. We’re a service provider that offers technical services to mobile phone companies, other media companies, and retail shops.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Vrosoft?

We were providing a technical solution that’d present an interface to make using Google My Business more straightforward for companies that have a large number of premises.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided a specification or them and they built the interface. The solution allows the client to manage their Google My Business’s stake. They then call the APIs to make the required changes on Google. The net result is that a single person in an office can manage hundreds or thousands of business locations from a single interface rather than the insights that Google provides. The backend was built on Python and a standard SQL database. The frontend is a mix of Python, JavaScript, and CSS.

What is the team composition?

I mainly work with Dariusz (CEO). He has several developers working for him, but I’ve never spoken to them.

How did you come to work with Vrosoft?

It was through a personal recommendation. Someone we work with gave me their contact details. I was given a CV and talked to some of Vrosoft’s team members.

What is the status of this engagement?

The ongoing engagement started in January 2020. We’re done with the first phase, and the MVP is finalized.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We do code reviews, and I have a weekly call with Dariusz to see progress. He does presentations on the deliverables. Their team works in sprints, and we do testing after each sprint.

How did Vrosoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is fine. The setup is straightforward; Dariusz manages his team, and I interact with him. In terms of design efforts, we work collaboratively. I provide designs, and he makes suggestions. He has technical competence in most areas. We’re relatively happy with what’s been delivered.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We don’t have to micromanage every step of their work. They’re self-starting. Our team provided an outline and design, and they worked through the delivery. The quality of the work was good in the end. They were also cost-effective compared to getting the same work done in the UK.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re worth talking to, and I find them trustworthy. They think for themselves and come up with input for the design.

Please describe your company and your position there.

My main research interests are affective neuroscience, neuroscience of language, brain plasticity, and neuroimaging methodology. In latest years I developed the Nencki Affective Picture System (including subset of Erotic material) and Nencki Affective Word List.

My team is also involved in aplied research Sentimenti aiming at analyze emotions in written texts. My recent research is focused on brain plasticity. I do think that a lot remains to be discovered about how the adult brain changes in response to learning.

When can we observe changes in brain function and structure while acquiring new skills? Are they irreversible or do they fade away when we do not use these skills? Is the time course of neuroplasticity similar for learning different skills?

For complex skill learning do changes first occur at the level of sensorimotor cortex and later in more advanced higher order brain regions? What are the neuronal predispositions for learning a specific skill?

Development of IT systems suitable for a research project.

What were your goals for this project?

We are a group of scientists and business people who are united by an exciting goal – to create an effective automatic emotion analyzer in a written text.

With the patience and meticulousness of researchers (linguists, psychologists, cognitiveists), fierce and flexible business, with the support of an experienced team of developers, we have reached our goal – our tools have been created.

These are the first so advanced solutions for analyzing emotions in language. Unique on a global scale. Emotions influence our decisions, in life and business. They tell us what is good and worth the effort, and what is better to avoid or fight.

Our tools allow us to measure the emotions surrounding a given company, brand, product and to use this knowledge in media monitoring, adjusting advertising messages, analysing customer comments, as well as issues related to brand safety or hate speech.
