Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

Within three months, we overcame the alleged sandbox effect associated with Google’s search algorithms—links to newer websites being filtered out of the high-ranking indexes—and started to see exponential growth. We went from being unranked to listed on Google’s first results page for a number of keywords.

Since the start of our partnership, we’ve recorded month-over-month metrics that illustrate our success. For example, our organic impressions jumped by 366% in August 2018 and another 48% in September 2018. Additionally, our most recent data shows a 79% increase in ranked keywords. We’re just getting started, but we’re experiencing promising growth rates that have already led to several prospective leads.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After a year of working with them, we saw some significant increases. For example, we saw a 55% increase in keywords rankings on the first page of Google and a double increase in item revenue via organic traffic. I didn't see the content they were producing (such as blog articles), so I only saw the results. And I was happy with the results.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a collaborative process. Our account manager answered all of our questions and provided us with a monthly report. She also worked closely with the strategist who frequently checked our website and oversaw the implementation strategy. We talked once a week and the communication was always clear.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were honest and sincere about helping us achieve our goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their monthly report highlighted everything that was positive, but I'd want to see a section on what needed to be improved and what they were doing to improve those things.

What were your goals for this project?

Primarily, we wanted to move ourselves up into the top tier search results for the best value tickets to sold out events; our value proposition is strong, but we have to compete against well-funded competitors in the SEM world. Since organic traffic tended to convert far better than paid traffic, we needed help identifying the best systematic improvements to boost performance and the bottom line.

We searched out competitors in the space, and Victorious was one of the agencies we found. After discussions with several leaders in the market, we opted to use Victorious due to their familiarity with our segment. They also had a well-outlined backlink strategy in place, which was an important KPI for our CEO. Our internal team of two managers—with input from two marketing assistants and the CEO of our parent company—made the hiring decision.

After introductory discussions related to our overall goals and current strategies, Victorious laid out a multi-faceted game plan for overall improvement. We selected numerous keywords that we wanted to move up the charts on, and Victorious suggested additional keywords with strong search volume to target as well. To begin, they performed a deep audit of our existing pages and system, and laid out a detailed technical improvement map for us to work on. Once that was in progress, we moved in the direction of developing new content strategies to focus on improving our performance on existing keywords. Victorious made what changes via our CMS, but also gave us detailed instructions for areas to improve performance. For areas we couldn’t grant Victorious access, we shared that information with our internal development team.

In total, we have moved up over 1,000 places for targeted keywords; some terms now appear at the top of Google’s results. Organic traffic has grown substantially, even without us implementing a number of planned improvements. Our organic sales numbers are very strong relative to summer’s slow months in our industry. We're looking for a big bump once the fall season kicks off.

The project manager laid out a clear path for improvements that we can make internally and has engaged his team on aspects they can manage. He has also checked in regularly to offer advice or assistance. We communicate priorities via email and regularly-scheduled calls. Streamlined communication has kept the project simple. Approximately 42% of our targeted keywords jumped to page one. We’ve also gone from sixteenth to first for keywords with 22,000 monthly search volume. Organic traffic increased 47% year-over-year and incoming calls from Google organic search rose 28% in six months.

They’re immediately available via phone and email. The team provides highly organized and focused monthly reports; the documents show our wins and their current work. We haven’t met in person because I haven’t wanted to since it’s unnecessary.

From the start, Victorious quickly developed keen insight into our business model. As a slightly nuanced concept, this was a challenging feat to accomplish. We’ve seen roughly a 40% increase in traffic as a result of the work they’ve done.

Ultimately, we wanted to bring in more foot traffic to our locations through our digital platforms, but we also wanted to invest in internet platforms and successfully rank higher on all of our search engine listings. Further, through SEO, we wanted to create a powerful website and understand traffic algorithms at a whole new level.

We had horrible experience with a few previous SEO companies, so we needed to find a reputable one this time. We reached out to Victorious after finding them in the first position for on Google and LinkedIn. They and a few other companies had outstanding reviews and it wasn’t easy to pick out differences after our first round of calls. But, after a few calls, started to become more relevant and personal to our business. They were able to provide great insight into what the project would look like and feel like. They also promised us to fulfill our requirements and agreed to put that in the contract. It was nice to do something like that, since I requested it.

They’ve performed keyword research, identified goals within Google Analytics, provided us the ability to track phone calls, performed an in-depth audit of the website, and, last but not least, continue to build our authority through links. Additionally, we're in the middle of a site redesign and Victorious has been able to step-in as an SEO authority to point out any areas in need of improvement.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’re currently beginning month seven of our partnership, and we’ve moved into the top three positions for high-monthly search volume keywords. Organic traffic has also increased by 223% year-over-year. Needless to say, we're definitely seeing more foot traffic coming into our stores compared to the same time the previous year.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Victorious SEOs provides a project management and analytics platform, which allows for well-established communications between all parties. It's easy to understand, find out where in the project we stand, and what needs to happen next.

Our account manager handles the daily communication, walks us through our monthly reports, and is also our internal advocate. As business owners, we can get really busy and forget to fulfill our end of the duties, so they follow up and will remind us again and again to make sure we stay on track.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I’m amazed at their communication and timeliness; their discipline to fulfill their promises; and the friendliness in all our communications. Their knowledge of the SEO game and willingness to educate us on all aspects is invaluable. Their efforts to work with outside services to complete SEO strategies is greatly appreciated.

Since bringing Victorious on board, we’ve seen a 106% increase in overall ranking keywords since the beginning of our partnership. Targeted landing pages saw an average growth of 171% year-over-year during the first year of partnership. An estimated $500,000 in link equity was regained via our site audit in 2017, and citation flow increased from 42 to 49 during the first six months of link building. Additionally, trust flow increased from 27 to 37 during the first year of link building.

They provide detailed documents indicating the work that needs to be done and their recommendations on how to do it, including priorities with data to back their claims. They consistently send reminders when tasks fall behind and want to make sure that I'm working.

Victorious has run our organic marketing department since 2016. First, they developed a keyword strategy that focused on core products. They then audited my site, implemented recommended fixes, and started building backlinks to the site. The team did six months of ongoing SEO to move the website out of Google’s Sandbox. Currently, Victorious writes monthly content for the site.

We work directly with an account manager, who liaises with a team of engineers behind the scenes. In addition to sharing information, the account manager asks for my approval before the engineers start a new project.

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

Organic traffic has gone up 414% since the partnership began, which has generated 29 net-new calls. Currently, we have 57 keywords ranking on page one and 527 keywords ranking in the top 100. These numbers represent a 715% and 1,218% increase since the start of the project, respectively. Growth started slow, but quickly picked up rapidly after the third month. Higher rankings spurred organic growth, which in turn increased conversions.

How did the Victorious perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve felt informed and looked after since onboarding. My team gets monthly updates with useful technical performance information. Victorious responds quickly to any questions or requests for in-depth explanations.

I trust them to manage our accounts. We have a great relationship with Victorious. The team is always accessible.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At times, the SEO keywords make the copy too cumbersome. The longer paragraphs look out of place on the site and may be hindering the UX.

We wanted to increase the traffic and leads generated by organic search. We also wanted to increase our keyword rankings.

How did you select this vendor?

I did extensive research and conducted calls with several SEO agencies. Ultimately, Victorious had the best initial audit and had the most actionable and detailed recommendations. They understood my challenges the best, and I felt comfortable working with them. I made the decision and recommended Victorious to our CEO, who approved.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

The project began with a kickoff call with our account manager, who brought me up to speed as to what I could expect over the course of our campaign. They then did an in-depth keyword analysis, which lead to the production of a strategy that we are still utilizing to this day. Next, came the audit of the site, which was grouped into three buckets: technical issues, content recommendations, and optimization opportunities. One of the biggest issues they uncovered was the existence of duplications on our site, which was really hurting our site's authority and rankings.

Every month, Victorious builds backlinks to our site, and they continue to monitor our site's technical SEO closely. On multiple occasions, our technical team made changes to the site that would have negatively impacted our SEO if Victorious hadn't caught the issue and recommended a change. In addition to those items, were currently focused on 'Keyword Jacking' - a process that analyzes competitor's rankings to uncover keyword themes that we aren't ranking for, due to a gap in our content. Victorious not only identifies the content gap, creates optimized content for our site that fills the hole.

In the 18 months we've worked with Victorious, I've only worked with a dedicated account manager and strategist, which has allowed us to build a great working relationship. Behind the scenes, they have link builders, content writers, and strategists that work on the tactical aspects of our strategy.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within one month of the site audit being implemented, we saw a 52% increase in top-three keywords (323 vs 213), a 57% increase in page-one keywords (1,071 vs 682), and a 59% increase in top-100 keywords (8,470 vs 5318). We’ve also seen a 54% year-over-year increase in organic traffic at the 18-month mark

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It’s always been smooth and easy to work with them. We share a Google Drive folder for reporting and assets, and we do a call every month. I email them pretty often throughout the month as well, and they are very responsive. Victorious is always available to answer questions or fulfill asks that I have.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I've had some really hard projects, like our site re-launch, and they were helpful throughout that process. They've proactively caught some very important issues with the site as well, ones that were preventing us from ranking well. They've really gone above and beyond in working with me. Overall, it’s been a great experience.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I selected an add-on package for SEO-optimized content pieces. They were affordable, but it took a fair amount of work to make them match our brand style and voice. While the content isn't mind-blowing, it definitely gets the job done, and it’s ready to go live after a handful of tweaks.
