Victorious + Felix Gray - 3,708% Increased Organic Revenue

FELIX GRAY, a fun team developing cutting edge computer glasses, sought out Victorious’ partnership to transform their presence in search.

The computer glasses market is relatively new with many flourishing competitors looking to seize market share. As a result, many of Felix Gray’s competitors are investing heavily into SEO, leaving Felix Gray’s website with low search visibility and struggling organic sales.

Victorious + Exceptional Villas - 1,757% Increase in Organic Search Traffic

A talented team of luxury travel professionals, Exceptional Villas initially contracted Victorious to increase qualified organic leads. Since July 2017, we’ve transformed their website into a massive lead-generating machine. But this wasn't always the case.

From inception, we encountered a myriad of issues: suboptimal metadata, non-existent SERP positioning, and thin content. Additionally, the site was uniquely built around hundreds of geo-focused pages. Lastly, Exceptional Villas wasn’t ranked on the first page of Google for a single keyword.

Results:

301% Total Increase in Keywords Ranked (26,740 vs 8,897)

1,757% 18-Month Increase in Organic Search Traffic (104,457 vs 15,555)

Victorious + Tailors Keep - 112% Growth in Total Organic Sessions

Tailors Keep reached out to Victorious in serious need. A beautifully designed men’s shop in the heart of Downtown San Francisco, Tailors Keep looks positioned for steady local business. They make exceptionally well-made men’s clothing, and have a loyal customer base.

However, the sheer amount of competition was choking their business. With the high overhead in downtown San Francisco comes a thrive-or die-business model. And with a low footprint on organic search and zero digital leads coming into the store, Tailors’ Keep was struggling to not just thrive - but survive.

Results:

621% Increase in Keywords Ranked in Top 100 (1,200 vs. 193)

112% Growth in Total Organic Sessions (11,490 vs 5,411)

124.8% Growth in Total Local Organic Sessions (4,808 vs 2,138)

Feedback summary:

Within a year of their engagement, item revenue via organic traffic almost doubled and keyword rankings skyrocketed. Proactive and experienced, Victorious went above and beyond to meet all needs, while their outstanding communication skills helped avoid any issues.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We specialize in print promotions that allow people and companies to distinguish themselves. I'm the business operations specialist.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Victorious?

Our website wasn't search engine optimized, so we needed help with keywords and SEO.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Victorious gave us recommendations on what we needed to do and then implemented them. We started with thematic keywords, in-depth technical audit of the site links, and on-page optimization. They gave us monthly reports and we had regular calls with our account manager. They did an excellent job, so we decided to increase keyword research and include more pages. It was a collaborative process and we felt that our voice was heard.

What is the team composition?

We mostly worked through an account manager.

How did you come to work with them?

They reached out to us. They identified some issues with our website and suggested that we schedule an appointment. We liked their pitch and decided to try them out.

How much have you invested with them?

We paid them about $30,000 a year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2017 and the relationship ended in July 2018 (when we hired someone in-house to do this job).

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After a year of working with them, we saw some significant increases. For example, we saw a 55% increase in keywords rankings on the first page of Google and a double increase in item revenue via organic traffic. I didn't see the content they were producing (such as blog articles), so I only saw the results. And I was happy with the results.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a collaborative process. Our account manager answered all of our questions and provided us with a monthly report. She also worked closely with the strategist who frequently checked our website and oversaw the implementation strategy. We talked once a week and the communication was always clear.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were honest and sincere about helping us achieve our goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their monthly report highlighted everything that was positive, but I'd want to see a section on what needed to be improved and what they were doing to improve those things.

Both organic traffic keyword rankings rose sharply. Sales continue to be robust and are expected to increase further in the autumn. Victorious has exceeded expectations and hit benchmarks early. Streamlined communication and effectively planning contributed heavily to the success.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the marketing director for TIcketNetwork, which runs Ticket Club. We offer secondary market tickets to consumers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Victorious?

We hired Victorious to help us improve organic SEO in line with our affiliate and SEM campaign strategies.

What were your goals for this project?

Primarily, we wanted to move ourselves up into the top tier search results for the best value tickets to sold out events; our value proposition is strong, but we have to compete against well-funded competitors in the SEM world. Since organic traffic tended to convert far better than paid traffic, we needed help identifying the best systematic improvements to boost performance and the bottom line.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We searched out competitors in the space, and Victorious was one of the agencies we found. After discussions with several leaders in the market, we opted to use Victorious due to their familiarity with our segment. They also had a well-outlined backlink strategy in place, which was an important KPI for our CEO. Our internal team of two managers—with input from two marketing assistants and the CEO of our parent company—made the hiring decision.

Describe the project in detail.

After introductory discussions related to our overall goals and current strategies, Victorious laid out a multi-faceted game plan for overall improvement. We selected numerous keywords that we wanted to move up the charts on, and Victorious suggested additional keywords with strong search volume to target as well. To begin, they performed a deep audit of our existing pages and system, and laid out a detailed technical improvement map for us to work on. Once that was in progress, we moved in the direction of developing new content strategies to focus on improving our performance on existing keywords. Victorious made what changes via our CMS, but also gave us detailed instructions for areas to improve performance. For areas we couldn’t grant Victorious access, we shared that information with our internal development team.

What was the team composition?

The project manager is our main point of contact.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

In total, we have moved up over 1,000 places for targeted keywords; some terms now appear at the top of Google’s results. Organic traffic has grown substantially, even without us implementing a number of planned improvements. Our organic sales numbers are very strong relative to summer’s slow months in our industry. We're looking for a big bump once the fall season kicks off.

How did the Victorious perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager laid out a clear path for improvements that we can make internally and has engaged his team on aspects they can manage. He has also checked in regularly to offer advice or assistance. We communicate priorities via email and regularly-scheduled calls. Streamlined communication has kept the project simple. The project manager answers all of our questions in a timely fashion.

What impresses you about the Victorious?

They over-delivered on their improvement promises.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, because Victorious has exceeded expectations on all fronts. We hope that strong and positive trend continues throughout the life of our partnership.

Organic traffic is up 47% year-over-year and nearly half of the keywords now appear on page one. The team is not only responsive and organized, but also delivers on their promises. Customers can expect proactive and caring service.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I own a yoga studio that offers childcare and teacher training.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Victorious?

We wanted to get on page one for specific keywords, as well as increase awareness for our teacher training and childcare programs. Specifically, we wanted to clean up our listings and get on page one for “teacher training”, “childcare”, and “yoga in SF”. We hadn’t worked with an SEO provider before.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we spoke to the salesperson that onboarded us and then worked with Kyle (Project Manager, Victorious) to identify our goals. Victorious has identified 600 listing inconsistencies across different platform. The team has also generated content and topics for our blog. To optimize the site further, they make structural changes to the website and content recommendations for specific pages.

What is the team composition?

I work primarily with the project manager, Kyle.

How did you come to work with Victorious?

They were local and number one on Google for SEO. The team was also easy to work with and knew our industry.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent at least $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018 and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Approximately 42% of our targeted keywords jumped to page one. We’ve also gone from sixteenth to first for keywords with 22,000 monthly search volume. Organic traffic increased 47% year-over-year and incoming calls from Google organic search rose 28% in six months.

How did Victorious perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re immediately available via phone and email. The team provides highly organized and focused monthly reports; the documents show our wins and their current work. We haven’t met in person because I haven’t wanted to since it’s unnecessary.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is results-driven and willing to go above and beyond. During the partnership, we’ve had compliance issues related to our data. Even though it wasn’t part of the scope, Victorious took our query and made recommendations. In addition, Victorious didn’t charge extra to consult with our web developer; they genuinely cared that the site was optimized properly.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of marketing for a pet insurance company that sells subscription pet insurance plans to clients throughout the U.S.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Victorious?

We wanted to gain more and better-quality exposure for our site via organic search results. We’d worked with previous agencies on SEO optimization and content creation. Our partnerships had generally focused more heavily on either technical or creative efforts. We hired Victorious for their dual abilities, which could overcome our problems with limited specialization constraints.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Victorious seamlessly bridged both facets of our projects by providing technical expertise as well as creative direction. They supported our technical SEO efforts from full site audits to specific strategic recommendations. The team’s content direction included outlines and overviews of how we should develop new materials in-house using our internal resources.

What is the team composition?

We’re in direct contact with Alwin (Account Manager, Victorious).

How did you come to work with Victorious?

When we began the process of looking for an agency, I reached out to a sales rep from Victorius I’d been in touch with prior.  They went through a brief RFP process. We liked the approach they took in their proposal. Their presentation stood out as being the most aligned with our concept.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent $30,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Victorious in January 2018, and our partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

From the start, Victorious quickly developed keen insight into our business model. As a slightly nuanced concept, this was a challenging feat to accomplish. We’ve seen roughly a 40% increase in traffic as a result of the work they’ve done.

How did Victorious perform from a project management standpoint?

Victorious performs superbly. They schedule efficient check-ins on a regular basis. Having access to their project management software gives us transparent visibility into the work they’re doing day-to-day.  So far, all our calls have been very effective.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Organic Traffic has more than doubled year-over-year, and search rankings have improved significantly. A stronger online following has also drive higher in-store traffic. Victorious uses a powerful management system to encourage progress tracking, and is eager to pass on their SEO knowledge.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the President and co-founder of Right There Repair, an electronic device repair company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Victorious?

We needed to bring someone on to improve our organic results on Google.

What were your goals for this project?

Ultimately, we wanted to bring in more foot traffic to our locations through our digital platforms, but we also wanted to invest in internet platforms and successfully rank higher on all of our search engine listings. Further, through SEO, we wanted to create a powerful website and understand traffic algorithms at a whole new level.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We had horrible experience with a few previous SEO companies, so we needed to find a reputable one this time. We reached out to Victorious after finding them in the first position for on Google and LinkedIn. They and a few other companies had outstanding reviews and it wasn’t easy to pick out differences after our first round of calls. But, after a few calls, started to become more relevant and personal to our business. They were able to provide great insight into what the project would look like and feel like. They also promised us to fulfill our requirements and agreed to put that in the contract. It was nice to do something like that, since I requested it.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

They’ve performed keyword research, identified goals within Google Analytics, provided us the ability to track phone calls, performed an in-depth audit of the website, and, last but not least, continue to build our authority through links. Additionally, we're in the middle of a site redesign and Victorious has been able to step-in as an SEO authority to point out any areas in need of improvement.

What was the team composition?

Our main point of contact is our designated Account Manager. We also have a strategist to work with.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’re currently beginning month seven of our partnership, and we’ve moved into the top three positions for high-monthly search volume keywords. Organic traffic has also increased by 223% year-over-year. Needless to say, we're definitely seeing more foot traffic coming into our stores compared to the same time the previous year.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Victorious SEOs provides a project management and analytics platform, which allows for well-established communications between all parties. It's easy to understand, find out where in the project we stand, and what needs to happen next.

Our account manager handles the daily communication, walks us through our monthly reports, and is also our internal advocate. As business owners, we can get really busy and forget to fulfill our end of the duties, so they follow up and will remind us again and again to make sure we stay on track.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I’m amazed at their communication and timeliness; their discipline to fulfill their promises; and the friendliness in all our communications. Their knowledge of the SEO game and willingness to educate us on all aspects is invaluable. Their efforts to work with outside services to complete SEO strategies is greatly appreciated.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I would challenge them to work outside of their scope, but I completely respect when they tell me they won't. I believe that attitude comes from the saying: “to be great at a few things is better than being good at many things.”

Additionally, trust flow increased from 27 to 37 during the first year of link building.

How did the Victorious perform from a project management standpoint?

They provide detailed documents indicating the work that needs to be done and their recommendations on how to do it, including priorities with data to back their claims. They consistently send reminders when tasks fall behind and want to make sure that I'm working.

What impresses you about the Victorious?

Their level of detail and consistent reminders are noteworthy. We also appreciate their thorough reporting, which shows where we currently are from project’s start.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not on their end. I wish I had an extra body to focus more on SEM, SEO, and analytics efforts.

We wanted to improve our SEO strategy to increase our visibility in online searches, allowing more churches to find us and utilize our services.

What were your goals for this project?

We hoped to grow interest and drive more leads to our product via organic search traffic.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

They made initial contact with us. We were considering an SEO project at the time, and we felt comfortable with Victorious, so we selected them.

Describe the project in detail.

Our partnership began with a focus on developing a comprehensive keyword strategy for our main product pages. Victorious began by researching and analyzing search trends and competition in our market, and they suggested early and easy targets we could accomplish more quickly as well as very competitive terms that would be long-term goals. We collaborated on the strategy and went through a few rounds of revisions, but we ultimately formed a solid plan. Victorious then arranged an SEO audit of our site. As a result of the audit, Victorious recommended we migrate our blog to a subdirectory on the site. Victorious continues to examine our site to ensure that issues detailed in the audit do not return. Further, Victorious has prioritized building links to our site, which improves our domain authority. This year, we brought on a content writer, and Victorious has been helpful in guiding our content efforts.

What was the team composition?

We work primarily with an account manager and a strategist that have been assigned to our project. There are also several other people orchestrating the SEO process.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

Google appears to take our site more seriously. We’re being ranked much higher for our targeted search terms. Our site has experienced a 141% year-over-year increase in organic traffic and a 38% increase in lead generation in the last six months.

How did the Victorious perform from a project management standpoint?

They are detailed and organized. We meet regularly with our account manager, and we are given a monthly report of our progress.

What impresses you about the Victorious?

They have been consistent and reliable through our entire engagement. The audit they performed on our site uncovered every opportunity we had for improvement.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I own Tailors’ Keep, a men’s custom clothing retail business.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Victorious?

We hired Victorious for SEO services because our page was not ranking well on Google.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted higher visibility and retention rates to increase revenue.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

In October 2016, Victorious contacted me to discuss opportunities to increase revenue via organic search. They won my trust after walking me through an SEO strategy over the course of a few meetings. Victorious then provided a four-month proof of concept.

Describe the project in detail.

Victorious has run our organic marketing department since 2016. First, they developed a keyword strategy that focused on core products. They then audited my site, implemented recommended fixes, and started building backlinks to the site. The team did six months of ongoing SEO to move the website out of Google’s Sandbox. Currently, Victorious writes monthly content for the site.

What was the team composition?

We work directly with an account manager, who liaises with a team of engineers behind the scenes. In addition to sharing information, the account manager asks for my approval before the engineers start a new project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

Organic traffic has gone up 414% since the partnership began, which has generated 29 net-new calls. Currently, we have 57 keywords ranking on page one and 527 keywords ranking in the top 100. These numbers represent a 715% and 1,218% increase since the start of the project, respectively. Growth started slow, but quickly picked up rapidly after the third month. Higher rankings spurred organic growth, which in turn increased conversions.

How did the Victorious perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve felt informed and looked after since onboarding. My team gets monthly updates with useful technical performance information. Victorious responds quickly to any questions or requests for in-depth explanations.

What impresses you about the Victorious?

I trust them to manage our accounts. We have a great relationship with Victorious. The team is always accessible.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At times, the SEO keywords make the copy too cumbersome. The longer paragraphs look out of place on the site and may be hindering the UX.

Rankings increased across the board, and organic traffic is also up. Victorious is constantly accessible and is responsive to requests. Although they could improve their content creation, especially with matching style and voice, they energetically search for improvements and are pro-active.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the Head of Marketing at Enplug. We offer technology solutions for businesses looking to manage visual communication using TV displays.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Victorious?

We needed someone to implement the latest SEO best practices, as well as help us with the SEO implications of the new website we were launching.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to increase the traffic and leads generated by organic search. We also wanted to increase our keyword rankings.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I did extensive research and conducted calls with several SEO agencies. Ultimately, Victorious had the best initial audit and had the most actionable and detailed recommendations. They understood my challenges the best, and I felt comfortable working with them. I made the decision and recommended Victorious to our CEO, who approved.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

The project began with a kickoff call with our account manager, who brought me up to speed as to what I could expect over the course of our campaign. They then did an in-depth keyword analysis, which lead to the production of a strategy that we are still utilizing to this day. Next, came the audit of the site, which was grouped into three buckets: technical issues, content recommendations, and optimization opportunities. One of the biggest issues they uncovered was the existence of duplications on our site, which was really hurting our site's authority and rankings.

Every month, Victorious builds backlinks to our site, and they continue to monitor our site's technical SEO closely. On multiple occasions, our technical team made changes to the site that would have negatively impacted our SEO if Victorious hadn't caught the issue and recommended a change. In addition to those items, were currently focused on 'Keyword Jacking' - a process that analyzes competitor's rankings to uncover keyword themes that we aren't ranking for, due to a gap in our content. Victorious not only identifies the content gap, creates optimized content for our site that fills the hole.

What was the team composition?

In the 18 months we've worked with Victorious, I've only worked with a dedicated account manager and strategist, which has allowed us to build a great working relationship. Behind the scenes, they have link builders, content writers, and strategists that work on the tactical aspects of our strategy.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within one month of the site audit being implemented, we saw a 52% increase in top-three keywords (323 vs 213), a 57% increase in page-one keywords (1,071 vs 682), and a 59% increase in top-100 keywords (8,470 vs 5318). We’ve also seen a 54% year-over-year increase in organic traffic at the 18-month mark

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It’s always been smooth and easy to work with them. We share a Google Drive folder for reporting and assets, and we do a call every month. I email them pretty often throughout the month as well, and they are very responsive. Victorious is always available to answer questions or fulfill asks that I have.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I've had some really hard projects, like our site re-launch, and they were helpful throughout that process. They've proactively caught some very important issues with the site as well, ones that were preventing us from ranking well. They've really gone above and beyond in working with me. Overall, it’s been a great experience.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I selected an add-on package for SEO-optimized content pieces. They were affordable, but it took a fair amount of work to make them match our brand style and voice. While the content isn't mind-blowing, it definitely gets the job done, and it’s ready to go live after a handful of tweaks.

Feedback summary:

The broader approach allows for good growth and less competition. Victorious performs better than other companies and presented none of the difficulties. They are efficient, sensible, and make useful recommendations.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We do loan acquisitions for mortgage and real estate investment. I am the CEO and am in charge of asset acquisitions.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Victorious SEO?

We wanted to maintain and expand our position in our space through SEO.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did an initial site audit and made keyword suggestions to improve our organic search rankings. They did a really deep dive into our analytics and found thousands of potential terms we could use. They’re working to get us onto the first page for several of these terms and we hope to see results as early as this coming cycle.

We write the content for our site based on their topic suggestions. We send blog posts to them and they point out ways to optimize each one. They fixed the way we use H1 and H2 tags, which had a tremendous effect on the ranking of our blog posts. We’re excited by the growth.

What is the team composition?

We have an account manager and meet with the team in person.

How did you come to work with Victorious SEO?

We did a Google search for SEO companies we could drive to. Their office is right down the street from ours, which was a big selling point.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $15,000 to date but expect to exceed $30,000–$50,000 this year.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our contract went into effect January 1, 2018 and work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We didn’t realize how much we could expand when we first contracted them. We originally ranked well for about 27 of the top keywords in our industry. After their initial audit, they identified 130–140 secondary keywords to improve. In the past 90 days, they’ve increased our rankings in at least 1,400 keywords. We hadn’t considered such a broad approach, but it’s a very easy tactic to give us an advantage. Our position has improved in a much larger space through their keyword execution and research.

How did Victorious SEO perform from a project management standpoint?

Because of my previous experiences with SEO companies, I was very hard on them for the first few weeks. Our account manager weathered it gracefully and proved my assumptions wrong. They are great project managers and SEO pros. They make good recommendations for content and web development and help the efficacy of our workflow.

I’ve worked with several SEO companies since 2010. My main complaints have always been against weak account managers and company complacency. Victorious has changed my view of what an SEO company can do. They have a good grasp of the work and rarely keep me waiting for an answer. They’re very knowledgeable and sensible. I wouldn’t take the time out of my day to review them if I didn’t think they deserved it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like how close they are. We can meet face-to-face and get things done. Their wide net of search terms was very valuable and extremely attractive to us. We could use hundreds or thousands of keywords and go at our SEO from different angles where there was little or no competition.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We tested the waters on their content writing, but our industry is hard for a freelancer to just pick up. There is very little information to draw on and requires someone who is already an expert in the field. We didn’t realize that at the time, so we don’t fault them for not delivering content for us. The only other minor issue we had was with the initial intake. Their online submission form states that they will respond to inquiries within five or ten minutes. They did get back to me within the hour, so they may have been in a meeting or at lunch. It’s a little complaint, but it’s the only thing I can think of.
