I am the CEO at Appotype, a software house.

We needed a subcontractor to help us implement a mobile app for our client. The client has a professional device that has to connect to a mobile device via Bluetooth to share data, which is then used to perform certain calculations on that data.

We were in touch before the project.

We started with workshops with the client, during which the requirements were discussed in detail. Based on that, a software development plan and wireframes were designed. We set milestones and started developing, milestone by milestone.

Utopia provided two software developers, a tester, and a designer. A project manager was from our side.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is still ongoing but so far we successfully achieved 3 milestones. The client's feedback is very positive. Compared to their old app, they see a huge improvement in both aesthetics and functionality.

There have been some minor delays, but they have not affected the implementation of the entire project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was very positively impressed by the attention to detail and diligence in conducting an analysis of the customer's requirements. This is especially important in our project, where we have to implement standards defined by international organizations.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think it's worth considering how to avoid these minor delays in the work in the future.

Create a mobile solution for trade fair personnel to scan contact details and log product interest for prospective customers. Key deliverables: 

• Development of an offline-capable iOS app to x enable scanning of business cards, scanning of QR codes incl. contact information and manual creation of contacts. x log product interest and possible next steps with the prospective customer. x follow up on leads created within the app.
• Development of an administrative backend to manage users, events and other parameters of the solution

• feature-driven development allowed to transparently see the progress within the project 
• repeated testing-days enabled good understanding of progress and early identification of problems

We had a single point of contact throughout the project and thereby had very clear communication structures between their team and ours. Following an initial sign-off of the project timeline, we conducted weekly meetings to see progress, discuss open issues and commit to next weeks tasks for both teams. The majority of deadlines were met by the team - even new requirements that surfaced during the project were handled within the given time frame. 
Utopia additionally helped to always critically reflect on functional or UI/UX requirements, providing us with their expertise to make better decisions.

The team provides great value for money and masters a wide range of services. This starts from UI/UX design to software development and infrastructure management.

Following the project, a retrospective meeting was organized to reflect on the project and possible improvements for future cooperations - while no major topics surfaced during the meeting, we discussed ways to further improve communication and coordination in times of intensive workload.

I am the founder & CEO of haveagood.one, a mobile app that lets users claim one free item per day from participating bars and restaurants.

For what projects/services did your company hire Utopia Ultimate Software Solutions, and what were your goals?

We wanted to create an app that would be the couch's worst nightmare and the ultimate excuse to get out of the house! The mobile app that lets users claim one free item per day from participating bars and restaurants had to be extremely easy to use for the end consumer.

However, under the hood, it had to be guided by sophisticated rules to cater to the different needs of the very bars and restaurants that would provide the freebies. Last but not least, the app had to be stable and secure in order to allow for rapid growth.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We asked a friendly CTO to recommend a Flutter developer.

We had a fairly good idea of what we wanted the app to be, sketched in a power point and described in a text document. We then ran a feasibility study with the developer to confirm all could be done, and done within a budget.

Next, we used an inside designer to make a mockup and an inside backend developer to create the API. After that, the development started, the work was submitted for testing and the apps released.

We worked with one Flutter developer supported by the CEO.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within a few months, we've seen hundreds of downloads and a 5-star rating. We're already fulfilling our mission and getting people off their couches and enjoying the bars and restaurants. All while saving money! Since we're a startup, we're in the process of raising capital and the app truly resonates with the potential investors.

They utilize a variety of tools to keep all stakeholders informed and on the same page, including frequent project updates and status meetings. They use agile methodologies and task management tools, such as Trello, to keep their team and clients updated on progress and milestones.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They truly got into the client's shoes and tried to understand the business in order to recommend the best technology solutions to the challenges on hand.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really. If anything, I would advise any client, like myself, to just really do your homework and understand what you ask for -> you WILL get it and, with Utopia, you will get it just perfect.
