BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Deer Creek Fabrics, a small company focused on fabric manufacturing.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with U.S. Computer Connection?

As a small company, we don’t have an internal IT department, so we needed assistance in that regard.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

U.S. Computer Connection acts as our IT department. Whenever we need anything related to IT, we call them; whether it is a new laptop, desktop, or piece of software, they shop for it, make recommendations, buy it for us, and then bill us for it. They also provide us with on-site and off-site managed IT services. For example, they help us with our website and our email.

Recently, we moved into new facilities. For this project, U.S. Computer Connection arranged all the network and hardware installations required for our new offices, taking everything down from our old facilities and setting everything up in our new ones.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with around 6–7 different people from U.S. Computer Connection.

How did you come to work with U.S. Computer Connection?

We had worked with a computer consultant for many years, but they were then acquired by U.S. Computer Connection, so we simply stayed with them after the merger.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay around $1,500–$1,600 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in the summer of 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since our former consultant merged with U.S. Computer Connection, things have stayed the same, which is great. They’re very responsive and understand our needs very well. When necessary, they go into our computers remotely and fix issues for us without them having to come down into our offices, saving us a lot of time. Overall, we’re very happy with them.

How did U.S. Computer Connection perform from a project management standpoint?

Our engagement doesn’t require a lot of project management. Whenever I need a new piece of equipment, U.S. Computer Connection is really good about resourcing it for us, buying it, and installing it without us having to follow up on them. If we have a problem, we can email them, and they will call us back. They do their work remotely whenever they can, but they still come to our offices and take care of issues if they can’t do it remotely.

What did you find most impressive about them?

U.S. Computer Connection has a large staff, so there’s always someone who can help us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for a computer consultant, the size of their staff does matter, so I would highly recommend working with U.S. Computer Connection.
