I’m the CEO of a navigational service company. We supply nautical charts and other charts used by sailors and merchants for their safe navigations. We do some emergency kits and other things for navigation purposes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigma?

The marine industry is pretty old. The industry was facing digitalization issues. Everybody started from paper maps and then we moved to the age of computers. There was a strong need for a web application that would allow marinas to quickly search and make waypoints.

Before this, weather, sounds, light points, tides, and everything else were all on paper. They’ve had to log this data for at least the last 20 years, but we needed to convert the logbooks into digital format.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Trigma developed a cloud-based Java application. Based on the hard copies we had, they built that information into the application. There was an option where they could make the changes and add the field.

One of the features built into the app accounts for the flag state of each country. There are different rules and regulations that mariners need to follow depending on the flag state, so it’s important that they have the most up to date information. For example, Canada needed an electronic book for their flag state that followed a specific format.

The important point was to connect the changes that the captain, second officer, or third officer are making, to the main server. If the superintendent or the ship manager goes, they can quickly review it. It allows users to monitor on what’s happening on the ship.

What is the team composition?

There were 8–9 people working on the project in total. Some of them were overlapping. At one time, there were 5–6 on the team.

How did you come to work with Trigma?

We initially met with a couple of companies to get an idea of how we could approach the project and how fast it could be done. I met Trigma’s founder at a webinar and decided they would be the best fit.

We spent between $55,000–$60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2020 and wrapped up the project in June 2020. The maintenance is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were quick to understand what we needed and delivered it. They picked up things really well.

How did Trigma perform from a project management standpoint?

We used a project management software where they listed all the work they’ve done. We had group sessions with them on a weekly basis. There were ongoing discussions.

They walked us through what they did so we knew what was going on. They were very good with time management. We never had any late deliverables. All milestones were properly met.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re consistent. They put a lot into planning the development and it worked out really well. . I was impressed by their attention to detail. For example, and purchased some of the other licenses just to see how they could increase connectivity for users

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m happy with their service.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Their CEO is brilliant. They’re very knowledgeable. I was surprised to see they were a startup because they’ve really grown. Contact them. They’re the complete package.

We hired Trigma Solutions for the agriculture based IoT project in which trigma team have to develop a proof of concept using several sensors on a IoT platform, amazon, google or thingspeak. and create a dashboard on the platform to report the data gathered.

Trigma shared the detailed proposal which explains each aspects very nicely like project approach, timeline (with man hours and expected time in months), budget. number of resources they will share and mode of contact which impress us and we took a decision to move ahead with Trigma.

Scope of work: Create proof of concept using several sensors on a IoT platform Rasperry Pi 4, All the sensors (like Teros -12 probe, Phytos 31 probe etc) will be connected with the Raspberry Pi with the help of connector. Technology used: Rasperry Pi 4, Connectors, Programming language (Python), IoT framework: Thingsboard.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Team Trigma provided the exact results we were expecting and on time. The PoC work is completed now and we are going to work on next phase of the project with the team for sure.

They use Proofhub as a project management team. There complete team provides the project updates over there and we can check the project progress on the same platform which saves our time as well.

they are very professional, responsive, and they understand the requirement at one time.

They are just good in the way they handle their clients. So I do not find any point of improvement for now.

AImatics has implemented its own video telematics cloud service for the global market. We needed to test the service and quality integrated into 3rd party web service. Trigma has built the 3rd party web service integrating with AImatics's video cloud and test the flow and quality.

We've started with a small simple project like MVP verifying the integration between the two services. Trigma was very straightforward, flexible, knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with.

We were able to troubleshoot our existing service and develop additional module/service as working together with Trigma team. After the deliverable, we were able to run the video telematics service to one of our first customers and feedback was satisfactory.

The project manager handles all project aspects and the technical details are handled directly by the engineer which was straightforward as far as conveying the information is concerned. The director was constantly making sure everything's ok

Raspberry Pi board connected to amazon IoT and cloud services to analyze the data and the display the analyzed data to the user using a simple dashboard Reading data throw sensors ----> raspberry ----> AWS ----> dashboard to display the data after processing to the user with simple way.

They use updated technologies and techniques. Also, they recommend cost-effective solutions with quality of work.

They have managed everything properly so I don't think they should have sone anything different except than this.

Project was delivered on time, and no major milestones were missed. Zero critical defects and quality was surprising given the team size

Onsite and offshore collaboration meetings on daily basis. All Agile practices were followed including daily stand up, sprint backlog meetings, product backlog, sprint planning etc.

One of our customers in US needed our help for developing a POC of a web-based application in Angular. We did not have anybody with the required skill-set so I reach out to Trigma to ask for skilled developers.

What were your goals for this project?

The app enables the user to create notes. It supports the creative notes taking process. Entries can be grouped in detailed titles, and the system has a matching functionality in terms of styling and cross-referencing. The user is able to flawlessly browse over the complete map (zoom) that consists of entries and tiles. Entries that have not been edited for a specific period of time will be malformed into gaps to gain the user’s attention.

High-level scope of the development was involved:

• Create entries (Create, Read, Update and Delete), make titles (collection of entries), annotate entries
• Cross-reference entries based on specific content values, assign entries to corresponding tiles, assign Meta links to corresponding entries
• Entries can be dragged to a new position on the map and be resized at will, dragging them on top of a tile assigns them accordingly
• Entries that have not been assigned to any titles are located in the creation canvas
• A mini-map shows a simplified preview of the whole working space and the user’s current position on the map
• All changes are automatically saved in the background

We have one senior developer and one junior developer working on the project from Trigma.

We were able to help our customer from US, even though we did not have the proper resources ourselves at that time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The developers from Trigma was working directly with the project manager from the customer side in US. Daily online skype calls were used to exchange information and plan the next steps.

They are open and responsive, which helps a lot in a fast-changing environment of software development.

HOD is an enterprise website with app extension to provide 360 degree employee skill development and assessment. HOD integrates tightly with our HR systems to ensure synchronization with employees in real time.

Profile and role based development plans are incorporated within to app to ensure a seamless on boarding of new employee into this portal/app. Time based and on-demand training lessons are initiated for relevant employees in areas of technical skills, managerial skills, ethics, diversity, sensitivity, sexual harassment policies etc.

Deadlines for such training completion are also setup with automated reminders to employees and their immediate reporting managers for compliance.

Additionally, assessment for these skills are also done with objective quiz and scoring. All in all, HOD ensures a holistic employee development with easy access for employees and managers.

While there were multiple resources engaged, we had the comfort of dealing with Project Manager and a business analyst who would take the requirements from us and get it done.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Yes, We were able to get a 100% compliance to labor laws by ensuring training for employees on all disclosures for such laws, Additionally, we were able to automate appraisal process of more than 67% employees online without in person meetings. This % is increasing continuously.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We just had one manager assigned to the project and HR resources who would provide the feedback on need basis. As Trigma team had done such work earlier as well, they were able to guide us on best practices.

It was a smooth flow as we utilized early morning calls to share the requirements and by next day, the incremental development was complete.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I would say that while such projects are usually driven by scope and pricing, Trigma team always kept the employee experience at the top.

Trigma teams highlighted the additional features that would be critical to success of the website/app. It was the goal oriented and customer centric approach of the team which was impressive.
