BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the owner of Fishing ROI Ltd, the company launched in 2010 as a manufacturer of fishing gear. Today we are a recognized Ukrainian manufacturer and distributor of gear for fishing, hunting, tourism, and other outdoor activities. Our company closely co-operates with international manufacturers and distributors, as well as dozens of retailers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Trident Software, and what were your goals?

At some point of our growth, Fishing ROI Ltd faced the task of implementing the e-commerce system to automate key business processes in the company and cope with the challenges of fast sales growth and expansion of inventory. We decided to automate accounting and reporting processes, in particular, create non-standard customized reports. Among other things we also needed to improve supply chain planning processes connected with international manufacturers, logistic companies, and ordering season-relevant goods.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Fishing ROI Ltd decided to entrust Trident Software with this task based on the previous successful experience of co-operation with them as well as positive reviews and personal recommendations Trident Software provided. We were also impressed with the skills set their team acquired over the years of growth.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

After consideration of the available options jointly with Trident Software experts, we chose the E-Trade e-commerce platform, developed by Trident Software for B2B and B2C solutions. The project scope was complicated due to the need to address several complex tasks, such as:

• integrate B2C and B2B functionalities in one solution;
• automate customer accounting and reporting processes and integrate them with the e-commerce solution;
• cope with an intensive development period characterized by the number of orders growing up to 15% monthly;
• cope with active inventory growth characterized by high rate of adding new products and product categories. Trident Software implemented the E-Trade e-commerce portal with B2C and B2B functionalities to boost our online retail sales and help us manage relations with the manufacturing and wholesale partners.
• Order Management. We got a comprehensive order processing functionality for our customers, including such features as order reservation, detailed order log, pre-ordering, generation of invoices and statements, complaints and returns management, automation of orders from suppliers, wait lists & wish lists, as well as the availability notifications, emails and push notifications for order changes
•  Pricing Management. The e-commerce portal featured flexible price formation, customizable discounts, upselling, and cross-selling, especially in package offers, and other features.
• Product Management. Trident Software implemented numerous product categories and search filters, automated product information management, and implemented replacements and analogues search algorithms. We also received connectors for some of our dealers’ online shops for product search and information exchange: product information, prices, delivery terms, and others could now be sent directly from our e-commerce solution.
• Supply Chain Planning. The functionality we received greatly improved the supply chain planning processes connected with international manufacturers, logistic companies, and ordering season-relevant goods.
• Monitoring. At our request, Trident Software enhanced the basic functionality of the E-Trade portal with the special online monitoring system, which automated the extraction of the pricing data from the websites of our retail partners.
• Accounting. Among other things, they also automated customer’s accounting and reporting processes, in particular, created non-standard customized reports required by the customer and integrated the customer’s accounting system with the E-Trade solution.
• Integrations. They integrated the e-commerce portal based on E-trade platform with our accounting system, the CRM system, and the online payment system.

A project team comprised of 7 developers, financial specialists, and project managers worked over the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The e-commerce portal implementation and integration was a success. Trident Software development team met all our requirements, and our executive managers received multiple flexible options to monitor, control and design business processes. The E-Trade e-commerce solution also minimized the need for manual data input for our employees and, subsequently, error risks. And they successfully implemented all the functionalities we've ordered from them.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Their project management style is extremely efficient. They based their processes on Agile methodology, used Jira for communications, and managed to evade any delays in project delivery.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I really like their attention to detail, informal communications, and a strong focus on customer’s expectations.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really.
