Initially we hired Treemont to help us expand the reach of the commercial side of our business. After working with them for a few months, we also used them to help us with a hiring campaign.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Treemont reached out to me by email with a very targeted message and nice looking brochure that explained in a simple, visual way how their process worked. If Treemont was able to find me and deliver a targeted message, I had a hunch they would be able to help us do the same for prospective clients.

Before making our decision to work with Treemont, we asked to speak with four other Treemont clients. They readily provided these references, including one in the same industry as us. All the references spoke with me and made me feel confident that Treemont could deliver on its promises. Finally, Grant and Rob, the two principles, seemed to be on the cutting edge of email marketing, with fresh ideas, a willingness to adapt and test new things, and they seemed generally fun to work with.

In the first month, the Treemont guys met with us to understand the type of clients we wanted to prioritize and the vibe we wanted to communicate. They then designed collateral for each market segment we wanted to reach. The first draft did not fully capture our style, but after one round of feedback, the second draft looked exactly how we had hoped.

They pulled together lists with specific individuals for us to contact, and they made sure that anything we sent out would have a high likelihood of deliverability. The tools they primarily used were Gmail. Since then, the guys continue to manage outreach for us, typically to 4000-5000 contacts per month. They tweak the collateral pieces for us needed, and they are always willing to test out new angles/messages for us.

We worked primarily with Grant and Rob. We have also had email and design support from others on their team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Treemont's outreach lists seem to be very accurate for our geographic region. I check daily who the email campaigns are reaching and who is responding, and the deliverability and accuracy seem very high. We get 10-15 high quality leads per week by email (and some phone calls), and we conduct on average 2 walkthroughs per week based on these leads. We close about 80% of these leads.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent has far as communication, responsiveness and meeting deadlines. We meet with Grant and Rob weekly, or every other week, depending on the project needs and our availability. If we ever have an urgent issue, they can be reached by email or phone within minutes.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I have been extremely impressed with the outreach lists they have been able to pull together. As a service-based company, we need any prospective clients to be LOCAL to us, and the vast majority of connections Treemont has made for us are. We are connecting with real prospective clients in a fraction of the time it used to take. I have also been impressed with their ability to package our pitch in a short, and visual way - this has certainly proved effective over email.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We have only worked with one other email marketing vendor, and that vendor failed to deliver real results beyond just making "linked in" connections for us. Treemont has and continues to get us real, geo-specific, quality leads for us.

The team has tailored the message to our business; they presented it, we tweaked it, and then we approved it.

We spend around $2,500 a month with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We get a lot of responses from the email campaign daily. In fact, we started getting leads on the first day of the campaign — we got 1–3 leads that day. Depending on which industry they're focusing on, we'll get more or fewer leads, but we get them every day. Although these haven't been the hottest leads, we're making sales from them, so I would consider the campaign positive overall. 

Moreover, we're very satisfied with Treemont Consulting's work. They're good people, and I like that they meet with us weekly to go over our leads. They don't just email and disappear; they have constant communication with us. When I email them, they contact us right back and are on things immediately.

How did Treemont Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

We had never done an email campaign and weren't sure what to expect. Therefore, we didn't have goals or deadlines when we started. After a certain amount of time, we'll have a better sense of timelines we can work with. 

Most of our communication is through email, and we have a Zoom meeting once a week. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Treemont Consulting's responsiveness is what I like most about them. There have been times when we needed to talk about something, we sent an email, and they called us on the phone within five minutes. The team is very responsive and communicates well, which are great attributes.

There's nothing they need to improve right now; they're doing a good job.

My advice would be not to expect super hot leads. From this type of campaign, you'll get warm or cold leads that take a lot of work. However, the leads will still be pretty good because they come from direct email; if you can sell, you can convert these leads.

The open rates from the campaigns were 30 to 40%. The people were the right contacts that made the decisions to buy. We are only on our third email campaign and have tons of leads and business in the pipeline.

I'm the President of a Facility Maintenance company specializing in pristine cleaning in 3rd party logistics warehouses and their offices. We also provide staffing services and supplies services for them. Our company is 16 years old and I started the company with one of my sons. I have always thought that process could be successful if you could only acquire the database which was elusive to us. I contacted them and heard their pitch. It was right on target with what I was looking for. I decided to give them a shot because if they got us an account over the 3-month introductory period, we were golden.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I have actually been down this road before with a company out of St Louis. Catchy name and a great concept, same concept as Treemont so it was something that I believed in. The original company was unable to get me any new customers after 3 months and I cut them loose. With Treemont I decided to give them a shot because they believed that they could deliver and I believed them with my fingers crossed.

They have developed an email campaign protocol that is fresh in its design and concept. The campaign is set up in stages. The first stage is warming up new email addresses that they will use for the campaign so they don't get rejected as spam.

The second stage is sending out the pitch from me with my phone number if they wish to call. The third step is refining the locale. We're located in Memphis and work in a tri-state area so we obviously don't need prospects calling on us for service in New York or Los Angeles.

There are 2 people that I work with and they are the principal players, the owners of Treemont. They have additional staff that develops the sell sheet, which is the best work I've seen from any marketing firm I've ever worked with.

After a month of warming up the email sites to send the prospect pitch, the actual campaign began. On the second day, we got a hit in our area which we have called on personally the following week and they are becoming a customer. In the second week, we got another prospect in our area and have a meeting set up for this week to meet with them.

It felt like they knew and believed in what their capabilities were. Their pitch was solid and on-point with what I believed could be out there. I explained that we had some type of glitch in our email system which resulted in us sending our email for invoicing through webmail.

They saw the error in our coding by our website developer. They contacted them and fixed the problem that our developer could not identify. Pretty impressive by a couple of guys that were trying to earn my trust and belief in them.
