Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of business development and strategy for an industrial coating and paint solutions company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Thomas?

We hired Thomas for their SEO and keyword research services; we were trying to improve our capabilities and industrial products awareness.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

With Thomas, we create an annual plan and define our strategy around blogs, white papers, and newsletters. They also search for keywords that we target for the year. We also create a monthly schedule. As we execute the plan throughout the year, our teams also have monthly meetings and accomplish assignments.

What is the team composition?

We work with Judy (Internet Marketing Executive) and Alexa (Account Director). Our team also interfaces with one of their VPs on the strategy side of the engagement.

How did you come to work with Thomas?

Thomas was in the yellow pages of the manufacturing industry. They’d changed their strategy over the years to focus online, so we hired them.

We’ve spent around $120,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Thomas in January 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an increase in traffic in terms of our target keywords and leads. The website has also gained better traffic. In fact, we rank among the top five results on Google’s front page for our target keywords. Two of them have been recently selected among search snippets.

How did Thomas perform from a project management standpoint?

Thomas has performed truly well in project management. We mainly use Google Documents to manage the engagement, and our teams use emails to communicate. We also have meetings once per month.

No, there aren’t any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t rely on Thomas for strategy. Rather, rely on them for execution. Come into the engagement with 70%–80% of your strategy, and figure out what you want to accomplish. Then, let them help you finalize and execute the strategy.
