I’m a former marketing director of Connected Places Catapult, a UK innovation accelerator that helps cities, transport authorities, and place leaders develop and scale innovative solutions to improve how people live, work, and travel.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Temper Digital?

We needed to transform a legacy website into a more user-friendly and easily navigable site with a clearer purpose, the ability to support lead generation, and the capacity to collect visitor data.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Temper Digital overhauled the website’s frontend, changing the design, navigation, and content structure. The team also implemented a backend integration that took visitor data, plugged it into our database, allocated it to our personas, kicked off a direct marketing output, and, where appropriate, put contacts into our sales pipeline in Salesforce.

We worked with 2–5 teammates from Temper Digital.

How did you come to work with Temper Digital?

We found Temper Digital through an online sourcing platform. We chose them over other options because they were a great culture fit and asked good questions during the pitch process.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January–August 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Temper Digital’s work led to 19,000 new leads, a 500% increase in overall engagement, and an 80% increase in content downloads. Although the number of new leads leveled off over the rest of the year, engagement and download levels were sustained.

How did Temper Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Temper Digital had excellent project management and clear, regular communication. The team delivered within an acceptable timeframe; the original timeline shifted as we increased the project’s scope. We communicated via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and emails or messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Temper Digital wasn’t afraid to push back on some of our requests if they wouldn’t add value to the project. The team brought exceptional creativity and lateral thinking to the project, bringing new ideas and opportunities for us to evolve our plans beyond our initial thinking and capabilities. Moreover, Temper Digital took the time to learn about our business and ensure that all ideas reflected what we were aiming to achieve.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Temper Digital could have pitched their value more clearly during the pitch process. They added significantly more value than we expected based on their pitch.
