We decided to build an entirely new verision of our app in Flutter where we needed to extend our existing team with more developers that could work independently on building our next version.

We decided to go with Techpro Studio based on the full stack experience coupled with the great portfolio within mobile app development.

We cut 2-3 months of development time working with Alex. That put our project back on track and made it possible to deliver our new version of the app to our customers within expected time.

Alex is an expert at recieving high level functional specs and then figuring out the best way to solve them fast, efficiently and flawless. Their outstanding quality and flawless code have been impressive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The high level of efficiency, cleanliness in the code developed and the ability to solve problems independently is by far the most outstanding traits that Alex has.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Alex is by far the best frontend and app developer I have worked with so far. So I can't think of anything that Alex needs to improve.

I am one of the founders of GetHint, an AI-based fintech company. We built an AI technology that can predict how people spend their money on an individual basis. We use that information to give personalized guidance on how a user can spend their money.

What challenge were you trying to address with techprostudio?

We turned to techprostudio to help us out with the development of our platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started by connecting with techprostudio and running through our company and our concept. We also discussed the limitations we were working with, as we had some budget constraints and we needed to release this on both iOS and Android. With the team’s guidance, we decided to use Flutter. 

After deciding on the framework, we worked quite closely with techprostudio going through the wireframes and the design. They provided feedback and advice on small changes we could make for the application to be easier to build so that we could meet our deadlines. 

When the designs were finalized, we moved forward with the development which techprostudio handled entirely. They ran tests for a range of iOS versions to ensure the platform would have wide support. It was a very thorough process. 

Currently, techprostudio is working to connect the API to the frontend, which we’re looking to wrap up in the next few days.

A developer I worked with previously connected me to Alex.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in April 2020, and we are still working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Every time techprostudio makes a serious update, which is a couple of times per week, they’ll push the update on TestFlight, which is how we review their work. We test everything and make sure it’s working as expected. 

Overall, the engagement has been extremely positive. Alex has an incredible ability to run with ambiguity, and the fact that he can keep up with our rapidly changing needs as a startup is very unique. He hadn’t worked with Flutter before, but he learned it in order to deliver on this project.

The work itself is very solid: techprostudio works hard to get all the details right, down to every pixel. That level of dedication has been beyond our expectations. We’re quite impressed, and we’re looking to keep techprostudio on board for as long as possible.

How did techprostudio perform from a project management standpoint?

During the development sprints, we had daily check-ins with Alex, where he would tell us what he needed more or less of, and what he needed our developer on our end to do.

When we have our sit-downs with him, if we run into a problem, he will suggest ways of solving a problem and ask if we are okay going with a specific solution, which I appreciate. He is also extremely personable, super easy to work with, and we’ve never had a problem with communication. He’s met every deadline and is very transparent with his hours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked with a couple of companies before where we had to make sure that we delivered everything with proper documentation. I was very concerned initially and was basically preparing myself for a little bit of a letdown, because we just didn’t have the muscle power to do that type of handover to the developer. 

In this case, it ended up being better than expected despite it being a fairly limited handover. We ended up being pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There haven’t really been any challenges. The solutions techprostudio comes up with are excellent.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to how techprostudio wants to approach the challenge. With Alex, he isn’t just a resource you send documentation over to. He’s someone you’ll want to bring in and have as part of your team. I truly believe that’s how you’ll get the most out of techprostudio.

What challenge were you trying to address with techprostudio?

We were having an issue regarding the migration of iOS which was written in C language and published by Microsoft. They had a limitation of porting this to wearable devices. I was searching for a company that could do the migration.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They performed our app migration. The framework needed to be functional natively on watchOS 6+ plus as a part of independent application. For communication, Apple Watch, we connect over Wi-Fi or cellular network to Azure Cloud. The SDK is written in C and had a dictational layer written in Swift.

Another project was to write a Mac application for communicating with our custom made, wearable Bluetooth device. We needed to be able to send messages directly to the device from the Mac.

A third project was compiling the Azure IoT SDK for Tizen OS. We are preparing for another project with them.

Techprostudio was hired to re-develop one of our products "Loop" as an outcome of a pivotal exercise and the need for a foundational change of the solution. Techprostudio was also hired to refactor another of our solutions called "Quest"

What were your goals for this project?

The solution requested for "Loop" had to incorporate all the lessons leaned thru initial development and experience gained within the first 6 months of release and yet brought up to date the with latest development, UX and Design standards. The project was given a timeline of 4 months. Techprostudio delivered within 3 months still meeting and in many areas exceeding the set expectations or targets.

Techprostudio was chosen after having conducted a "fit for purpose" contest among 4 carefully reviewed and shortlisted companies. A comparable test case was given to all contenders and Techprostudio was a clear winner of the selection process both in terms of final solution and the forward thinking approach during the process.

The project was an end-to-end delivery of an upgraded version to one of our products, however we did not request a redesign of the App, but Techprostudio was pushing our internal design team and developers to be allowed to redesign the expression of the solution from a functional and visual perspective which had a huge positive impact on the end result.

The project team was managed and driven by Techprostudio. Our internal developers and designers were assigned to collaborate with Techprostudio who would set the direction for the solution. In a way Techprostudio acted as an internal unit compared to "just being a service provider".

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The management of this project and the deliverables showed my internal development teams that even tough deadlines be achieved with the right focus and mindset. I think its fair to say that our collaboration was an eyeopener to internal teams about how efficient a development project can be executed.

They strive to deliver above and beyond expectations without discussing agreed terms & conditions every step of the way. A truly embedded supplier that saw my business as their own business.

There is always room for improvement, that's how we develop as individuals and organisations. Working with Techprostudio this becomes a part of every interaction and as such I can only say that they start at a very high level but keep pushing and asking for feedback to improve every step of the journey.
