I'm a student mentor at Shubhra Ranjan IAS, and my responsibilities are connecting with the students, gathering their problems, providing solutions, and clarifying their doubts if they have any specific doubts about any exam or paper.

We’re a tech company specializing in building in-house courses. We provide guidance and study materials for students in India who are preparing for the UPSC exam.

We have two business models: we connect with different institutions and sell our courses to them, and we also sell our courses directly to students.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techgropse?

We needed help developing a mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Techgropse developed our mobile app. We started by describing our idea to their business analyst team, who prepared a proposal for us. After we reviewed the proposal with the management team, our CEO, and our CTO, we confirmed that our requirements were good, signed a contract with Techgropse, and initiated the kickoff payment.

After that, they assigned a team of designers to design the app. The design process ensured that the stakeholders were on the same page as the development team and that everything was captured. Once everything was confirmed, the development team started building the app.

They built the app using React Native and Node.js for the backend. The team conducted testing, and we deployed the app on the Play Store and App Store in February 2025. We're currently in the maintenance and support phase.

We're also discussing SEO and ASO services with their sales team.

One of my friends had a good experience working with Techgropse on his own project. He developed an e-commerce application for his company and told me to connect with them if I wanted to develop an app.

The app has around 100 reviews and a 4-star rating. It also has around 10,000 downloads, which we consider good progress. Overall, we're happy with the project.

From day one, the team delivered what they committed to. They also stuck to the cost we decided on. The project completion time was good, and there were no issues with the cost, delivery, or quality of work.

We used Jira and GitHub as project management tools. We used email, phone calls, Google Meet, WhatsApp, and Skype to communicate.

I’m the CEO and president of IDSS Holdings. We’re in the business of support and solutions for the defense industry. We deal with integrated internal defense systems and security solutions, such as X-ray machines at airports. We work with government agencies.

Then, they came up with a wireframe and gave me an idea of what it would look like. After that, they came up with designs. We have gone through different phases of development.

The website is a listing site. I use it to present my company and the solutions I offer. It also has a section about my team and a career option where anyone can apply to work with me. It’s also a blogging website because we post news about different defense contracts. TechGropse has used Node.js and React for the technology stack.

Moreover, TechGropse has done the initial SEO and marketing for me. I purchased an AWS account, and they maintain it for me. They’re also giving me free support for one year.

Techgropse has successfully built the website as I required. I have liked the designs they provide. Thanks to them, I can now add ads in the blog section, and I’m getting revenue from there. I’m getting more traffic and clients. There’s been a 20%–27% increase in business.

They’re really good at their work. The planned delivery was for April, but they finished two months early. They use Bitbucket and Jira, and I receive updates via phone calls, emails, Slack, and other applications. Whichever application I am connected to, that's where they update me.

I’m the organization manager at a car repair company. We provide online services, including consultations, battery replacements, engine repairs, recovery maintenance, cleaning and sanitization, detailing, and accident claims. We used to have an offline business, but we’re trying to go online.

They've made the website mobile-friendly and easy to load, and it works well. I used to have around 100 visitors in my store per week. Since we launched the site, we've had around 150 visitors per week, which is a 50% growth in our business.

How did Techgropse perform from a project management standpoint?

They have delivered before the deadline. The launch date was around mid-January, but we got online last year. We use Jira, where I can track everything and get updates; everything is transparent there. We also communicate via email and have a Skype channel for quick communication. We receive weekly email updates and have weekly meetings. They used a scrum methodology. Everything has been well planned and well executed. They have overcome challenges with the domain and the language since they have experience in such projects.

Instead of rushing out on a deadline, you should focus on brainstorming with them. They have great minds, and when things are well brainstormed and planned, they're executed really well.

What was the scope of their involvement and team dynamic?
Solution was a sass application. Over the last two years we have built a web application for large scale produce wholesalers. Our application fast tracks users order process and has features that allows them to automate their packing process and track their purchase orders all in one easy to use application. This was a two year process of iteration and improvement with businesses at the Sydney Produce Market, one of the largest produce markets in the world with a turnover greater than 3 billion a year. 

What's the status of this engagement?
For over two years we were building and improving the application together with techgropse our dedicated developers.

How did your relationship with your partner evolve?
Our relationship has not been easy. We initially began our projected with fixed scope and deliverables and price. We started with a thorough plan for our application, this however was changed over time due to poor advice and poor initial designs from them. The first version created had several issues but we were forced to keep paying milestones in order to progress. We then paid for two dedicated developers who were also working on other projects at the same time which was not known to us. This resulted in long wait time for updates which was incentivised due to our ongoing monthly payments. In the last month we ended further payments after 2 years of monthly payments as we believed we just wanted warranty support for the last month due to bugs. In order for us to keep paying they have taken our code to our application and is no longer responding to us after a 2 year relationship.
In what ways can they improve?
Significant design improvements are needed as well a less incentivised cost structure designed to stretch our projects for further payments. Also greater professionalism to maintain contact especially after significant payments made by there clients.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
My advice is simply not to use Techgropse. Ensure you have your own dedicated developers who you hire directly and not through an intermediary like this. These development shops are built to just take your money and keep there payments going without any care for the quality and your needs.

Techgrospe was able to create all our ideas into reality and worked consistently whilst we worked to build our ideal platform. I highly recommend their services. They were able turn all of our ideas into reality regardless of the complexity, which if we had attempted to do locally would of cost us significantly more and may have even not of been possible due to the difficultly.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our application is currently at a level where wholesalers at the Sydney Produce Markets are able to now use the app. The average revenue for a business at the markets is over 40 million AUD a year so for business of such size to use our app and be able to have a significant reduction in admin costs due to our app is a big achievement.

The team worked in a very timely manner. Due to us constantly iterating and improving the application we needed a quick turn around to test new features and ideas. The team worked well to make changes and add new features in spans of days and even just a week for entirely new pages and features which allowed us to reach the level our application is now quickly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive thing was the fact that even though we new some of the ideas and features we were adding were complex and the team initially didn't have experience in adding some APIs such as the MYOB api and other features, they always were able to figure out and make it a reality.

I think the team worked well under our high demands, and there really isn’t an area where we expect them to improve, if anything I think we could of done better in our design process earlier on but this is on us not techgropse.
